Ever since Facebook banned Canadian news in 2023, the task of building spaces for independent journalism to thrive has become more crucial than ever. Last November the independent media community teamed up to launch unrigged.ca, a new website that posts hourly content updates from a coalition of 25 local, regional and national media outlets from coast to coast to coast. 

In this conversation we take you to The Broadbent Institute’s 2024 Progress Summit for our Thursday, April 11th panel featuring The Breach, Briarpatch, The Hoser, Press Progress and the Pivot solidarity journalism cooperative in conversation with Harbinger Showcase host Andre Goulet and Invisible Institutions' Megan Linton unpacking the past, present and future of the project.
