Marriage isn’t the only place where the state has decided to interject itself into the affairs of grown adults trying to do what they want, but now they’ve stuck their nose in adult adoption as well. People can understandably disagree with how much or little the state should have to do with the adoption of children, but when we’re talking about fully functioning, consenting adults, what’s the point of it all?
