In 2017, motivated by their sons’ life-theatening allergies and asthma, and the once in a life-time opportunity to create a future proofed house, Elinor and husband Born embarked on a life-changing building building project with the key objective of achieving a healthy, family home.

The family's self-build project took them on a voyage of discovery around health, eco-credentials and sustainability in everything from the building materials to the furnishings they could access and afford.
