He's a legendary touring musician who has been called one of the greatest living songwriters by NPR and he has influenced musicians like Conor Oberst of Bright Eyes.

I caught up with him outside The Moroccan Lounge before a show and we discussed college house parties, DIY touring in the 90s, using the Dialer for free long distance calls and almost naming an album after my favorite sparkling water. We also talk about eating meat on 9/11, dumpster diving and hatch green chiles in New Mexico! ENJOY!
