DID YOU KNOW that Latinas are expected to make up 8.5% of the US workforce by 2024? Despite making up a huge portion of the workforce they still face structural barriers for entry and success. HOPE, a Latina non-profit, has developed a program that supports the professional development of college-age Latinas to aide in their integration into the workforce.
The HOPE College Leadership Program is a hybrid leadership development program that fosters a network of support for College Latinas to ensure they have the resources necessary to complete college, enter the workforce, and contribute to their communities. The goal of the program is increased college graduation rates, soft skill development, and successful workforce integration.
Launched in 2016, the program has engaged 340 scholars to date. The HCLP has a college completion rate of 63% within 5 years, compared to the national average of 58% within 6 years.
A six-month hybrid leadership development program that fosters a network of support for College Latinas to ensure they have the resources necessary to complete college, enter the workforce and contribute to their communities. This is a national program with West Coast and East Coast cohorts.
