Recorded live at London's Southwark Playhouse on Saturday 10 February 2018, this episode celebrates women in theatre. Following a performance of the critically acclaimed 'Collective Rage: A Play in Five Betties' - a play that shatters societal ideals of femininity in a carnival of rage, pussy, cabaret, drag and love - we recorded this special edition live episode celebrating women in theatre. Featuring Edith Craig, pioneering theatre director, producer, daughter of celebrated actress Ellen Terry and pioneer at the front of the Actresses Franchise League and the suffrage movement, and the ensemble of Nirbhaya, directed by Yael Farber, (Assembly, Edinburgh, Southbank Centre and international tour), a staggering production conceived in response to the New Delhi Gang Rape in 2012 and based on women's experiences of violence that broke open the silence and shame surrounding violence against women and enabled people to speak out for the first time.
Special thanks to Southwark Playhouse and Collective Rage for having us - and to Chris Drohan for his superb live recording skills.
