Merrilee takes John on a circuitous walk along the path of change. John keeps positioning for control - just in case he changes his mind. Merrilee doesn’t seem to care - a hallmark of her style. Eventually our entire monetary system collapses under Merrilee‘s description and John can’t handle the confusion. John continues to see society being run by the prescription of the industrial revolution. Merrilee, by contrast, sees the revolution as a mistake as she defers to her own higher order. John acknowledges her ability to prevail but presses her for management policy.
