Psilocybin is a psychoactive compound that is found naturally in wild-grown fungi. The compound provides its user a variety of experiences, which include, hallucinations, mystical-type experiences, along with other therapeutic effects. Psilocybin is more commonly referred to as “magic mushrooms” because psilocybin is contained naturally within the mushroom. More than 180 species of mushrooms contain psilocybin or its derivative psilocin.
Today’s guest is Dr. Julia Mirer, Director of Strategy at Nushama, a Psychedelic Wellness Center which offers medically supervised treatments for sustained relief from depression, anxiety, chronic pain, addiction, and trauma induced mood disorders in a serene and safe environment. Dr. Julia Mirer is advocating for a new paradigm of health and wellness which acts as a merge between Eastern and Western Medicine. She is also the chief education officer at Mr. Psychedelic law, an NPO that focuses on medical and spiritual research in effort to drive responsible psychedelic reform. Furthermore, she serves as a medical advisor and volunteer for several psychedelic related projects. She holds a Medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine.
