IDOLS OF THIS WORLD {EPISODE 43}

 

Have you ever accused a Catholic of worshiping an idol? Or have you ever been accused of it? *ahem* Mary, the crucifix, statues of saints, holy water - the list goes on.

I get it, I totally get why people would think we were statue worshipers. I've actually been places where people are reaching over barricades to touch a statue of Mary - and idolatry is dangerous territory.

In this episode we're chatting about the whole worshiping of idols thing in the normal context but ALSO in the "are you worshiping anything other than God" complex.

Your job? Money? Perfect parenting? Side hustles? Fitness? Makeup? Clean home? Homeschooling?

News flash, we idolize a LOT of stuff that doesn't even begin to look like a pretty statue of St Mary in a cathedral. I don't care what denomination of anything you are - we ALL put things before God. And that, my friends, is idolatry.

The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem, right? So listen to this episode and ponder what is standing between you and a deeper relationship with God. What are you idolizing in the place for Him alone?
