This week Dan takes us through Nehemiah chapter 5 where there is a major cost of living crisis. The people are experiencing high interest rates, the mortgaging of land to buy grain, even some needing to enslave their children. In this context Nehemiah speaks to us about how we should approach such a situation. He also shows how before God, we are all in great debt, yet Jesus, like Nehemiah comes to sort that debt and restore us, before our living God.

In the book of Nehemiah we find the city of David, Jerusalem, in ruins. In lots of ways it was due to failings over many years, of the people of God, to trust, follow and serve Him. Even after God continually draws them back to him; is patient, slow to anger and abounding in love, they persist in their sin and find themselves and their city in ruins. But God is about a great work of restoration, in their lives and in our lives today.
