During the month of June, we at the Hope Without Fear Podcast have recognized the achievements and experiences of LGBTQ+ individuals within the Black community.

In today's episode, you are in for a real treat as you will hear host, Stacy Simmons, talk openly with his mom, Ms. LaVerne Smith, about their relationship, what the journey was like before, during, and after Stacy came out.   Coming out as a member of the LGBTQ+ community is not easy for everyone.  Sometimes the experience is wonderful, and other times, the experience is tragic or very painful.  So, we hope that someone listening may be able to take something of value away to help guide them, encourage them, and let them know they are not alone. There are so many individuals within the LGBTQ+ community that have been rejected by family members because they were brave enough to tell their truth and own their identity.  

This episode is quite a special one as it reveals a beautiful bond between a Mother and Son.
