Juan has always had a passion for the hospitality industry. He chose to attend Michigan State University and pursue a degree in Hospitality Management. Upon graduation, Juan joined Stouffer Hotels in Washington DC as a management intern where I completed an 18-month rotation in all departments of the hotel. Upon completion, He was offered the position of Assistant Executive Housekeeping Manager. He thoroughly enjoyed that department and working closely with the team.
Juan took a vacation to San Francisco and immediately fell in love with the city. He decided to look for opportunities while on vacation and interviewed with InterContinental Hotels. Juan embarked on a wonderful journey where he learned from many wonderful mentors and colleagues. His career saw him grow from an Assistant Housekeeping Director to an Executive Housekeeper, to Director of Rooms, Hotel Manager and eventually General Manager over the course of 16 years.
Juan then wanted to see what the boutique/independent hotel experience was like, so he took the General Manager role of two upscale boutique hotels in downtown San Francisco. He was there for 6 years and with the support of a great team was able to achieve some wonderful results and take the properties to higher performance levels.
Currently, Juan is consulting for several projects in the US, Israel, and Asia.
