Two hosts from NPR pose as NPR hosts who present sometimes useful, often trivial, and endlessly entertaining knowledge. Fans of In the Scenes: Behind Plain Sight will enjoy this show like a prequel series about the actors who later pose as actors recapping a TV show that never existed. Fans of How to Do Everything will enjoy ITS:BPS like a long-anticipated reunion show of two guys who sound an awful lot like the two guys in this show. A combined 13 stars, distributed evenly.

I first heard this podcast in college and it was perfect for my sensibilities as a not quite fully formed human. I truly thought Mike and Ian were the greatest comical minds of the age. It was almost anti-comedy and I definitely showed it to people who did not understand it, but it felt like it was made for me. I was devastated when the show left the air and I always referenced it among my favorite podcasts that were no longer producing new episodes (along with Mystery Show). I am now in my 30s and when I saw that Mike and Ian were back was worried that revisiting the show would make me realize that it was not actually that funny and that I was just a silly little college student who did not have a developed sense of taste. I have trepidatiously listened to the first few episodes and I can say that they are back in fine form. It is difficult to live up to nostalgia, and I will admit that I have lost some of my whimsical-loving nature in my adulthood, but the particular brand of surrealist humor on display in this series still hits. I am glad they are back!
