Welcome to How to Make A Video Go Viral.

0:02

The marketing show that admits its title is nothing but clickbait

0:05

and should really be named how to make a video

0:07

that once run as a paid ad will bring you the sales to fuel

0:10

the views that will make people think it went viral.

0:12

But that's just not as catchy. Now Here's your host, Joseph Wilkins.

0:17

Hello, and welcome to How to Make A Video Go Viral, the very

0:21

first episode. My name's Joseph Wilkins.

0:24

I'm the founder of FunnySalesVideos.com

0:27

And let me start out with a quick intro introduction of what

0:30

this podcast is going to be about, what we hope to achieve,

0:35

and a little bit about the context of the title of the show.

0:41

So as the intro suggested, is a little bit clickbaity, what

0:46

we're going to be answering on the show is how do we get

0:50

the results that come when people think a video has gone

0:55

viral? So in other words, as you as a business owner or as

0:58

you as a marketing executive, if your goal is to create a

1:02

video that goes out to millions of people, and more importantly,

1:06

comes back with millions of dollars in sales, how do you

1:10

actually do that? How do you create that? How do you promote that?

1:14

And I'm here to tell you that most of the videos, if not

1:17

all, of the videos that you've seen, have millions, tens

1:20

of millions, even higher, hundreds of millions of views never

1:24

went viral. They only look like they went viral.

1:27

What's actually fueling the success of those campaigns are

1:32

paid ads on social media, on Google and other ad platforms.

1:39

However, when you see a video that has all of those millions

1:44

of views, it's a huge indication that that video is terribly

1:49

profitable because it costs money to promote a video to get

1:55

that many views. All of the platforms that these videos are being shown on,

1:59

whether it be Facebook or Instagram or YouTube.

2:01

They're very savvy, and they know that their platforms, if

2:06

they're going to be used to promote companies, products and

2:09

services, they're going to want to be compensated financially

2:13

for that. And so the algorithms are created that if you were to try

2:17

to create a video that just went organically viral, it just

2:20

wouldn't happen. The algorithm wouldn't help it to get that many views unless

2:25

it's fueled by paid ads. So the question really shouldn't be how to get a video to

2:31

go viral. The question should be, How do you create a video that is

2:36

entertaining and captivating enough to capture people's attention

2:41

when they see it in their timeline or preroll ad?

2:46

How do you capture somebody's attention? Keep that attention, hook them with a sales message and then

2:53

lead them to a sales conversion event.

2:57

Whether that be a lead generation campaign, an instant sales

3:00

campaign, or any other kind of action that you want that

3:04

customer to take, how do you create the video compelling

3:07

enough to do that. But then on the other side of the fence, how do you create

3:11

a sales funnel and an ad targeting platform to connect with

3:17

those millions of people? And how do you do it profitably?

3:21

I hear the analogy being talked about often of the magical

3:26

vending machine. Imagine if there was a vending machine that was full of 100

3:30

dollar bills, and it only cost 20 dollars to use that vending

3:35

machine. How often would you want to put 20 dollars in to

3:38

get a hundred dollars out? That's the concept behind everything that we do.

3:43

We create videos that when uploaded to social media platforms,

3:48

will convert at much higher return on ad spend than typical.

3:52

What I would call straight or sometimes boring sales focused

3:57

messaging that get straight to the point and doesn't have

4:00

any entertainment factor is just direct response.

4:03

And those still work. We just find that adding the kinds of entertaining elements

4:10

into our ads that companies like us endeavor to do double

4:14

triple the returns of those other kinds of ads.

4:17

So, anyway, that's the goal of creating these kinds of videos.

4:22

And so our goal as a podcast is to go find companies that

4:26

have had those kinds of transformational successes where

4:30

one video campaign has completely transformed a company's

4:35

sales pipeline in a very profitable way.

4:39

And we're going to interview those business owners and find

4:42

out how they did it. What were the steps that they took both from a creative point

4:46

of view and from a strategy point of view.

4:49

And so since I run funny sales videos com, which only deals

4:55

with the creative, we take companies from concept through

4:59

completion of the video, I'm going to be bringing in a cohost

5:04

that's going to talk about the other side of the marketing

5:07

strategy, which is building the funnel, building the ad campaigns.

5:11

And between the two of us, we will co host the show as we

5:13

interview these business executives to pick their brains

5:16

and ask them the questions that if you were here, you would

5:19

want answered. So that's a very quick overview of the show.

5:23

Again, it's something that selfishly.

5:26

I'm looking forward to using the show to learn myself from

5:30

these case studies of companies that have been wildly successful

5:35

just because it's easiest to start out, we're gonna start

5:38

with some of the companies that I've personally worked with

5:41

that have had transformational success.

5:44

We've had companies that have had 50,000,000 plus campaign

5:49

views and millions and tens of millions of dollars in sales.

5:53

And so we'll start off with some of those.

5:55

And we'll also bring in some very small companies that have

5:58

had much smaller budgets and have still seen a doubling sales

6:04

year over year because of the campaigns that they've put

6:07

together. But again, we're going to be reaching out to many,

6:09

many businesses that we haven't worked with.

6:11

So first request is, if you're interested in this, if this

6:15

sounds like a show that you'd like to listen to on a regular

6:18

basis. First of all, if you know a company that has had a

6:22

transformational success with a video campaign, and obviously

6:27

my company is on the funny side, but it doesn't have to be.

6:31

We'll interview anyway, one that's had a video that has been

6:33

transformational in converting viewers into customers.

6:38

Let me know, shoot us an email.

6:41

I'll put a contact information in the show notes, and we'll

6:45

have that person on the show. Or maybe that person is you.

6:48

Second request is, please.

6:51

If this is something that you want us to continue to do,

6:53

the only way that we can know that there's an audience out

6:56

there that wants this is to leave a comment.

6:59

If you're watching this on YouTube or if you're listening

7:02

on itunes, please give us a rating, give us a review so that

7:06

we can get this show out to other people and continue to

7:09

create these interviews that hopefully will help you just

7:12

as much as it helps us as we learn together.

7:15

So how to make a video go viral.

7:18

Hopefully, I've explained the goal of the video, the theme

7:22

of the videos or the theme of the podcast, and I look forward

7:27

to many episodes ahead, our next interview or our second

7:32

episode. I'm going to be introducing Parker Krynen, who will

7:36

be my cohost will be talking together about what I do, what

7:40

he does. And I'm also going to be going into in pretty detail my free

7:48

ebook that you can download from funnysalesvideos.com

7:52

And basically, what that is is an eight step process that

7:56

we take every customer through from concept through completion,

8:00

a video campaign that we would consider ready to convert.

8:04

And so if you want to download that for free, you can just

8:08

go to Funny Sales videos. Com I've been on many podcasts lately where I've talk my

8:14

eight step process, and most people find it very valuable.

8:18

So I'm going to be going over those eight steps in our next

8:22

episode. But in the meantime, feel free to download, and

8:25

I will see you on the next episode.
