Relationships - Today's episode with Tera Brown is a message of hope; that it is possible to recover from trauma or betrayal. Tera shares her intimate story of betrayal in her own life and how she was able to look within herself and learn from her experience. In her words, "What can I learn to affect the change within." She is passionate about sharing emotional literacy and how important it is to recognize our emotions as indicators and not dictators for our life.  Another huge take-away was about how it is common to fit our relationships into a comfort box. We tend to struggle when one person inside the box begins growing outside of the comfort and how easy it is to desire to pull them back into the comfortable box. Yet, as we choose to see the lessons in our relationships as areas for growth within ourselves, we can see how we can grow out of that comfortable box together.

Tera Brown is an Intuitive Life Coach, Betrayal Trauma Specialist, and Speaker. She woke up from a lifelong pattern she wasn’t even aware of: avoiding, numbing, and denying her emotions, when, after 16 years of marriage, her husband disclosed his infidelity and addiction struggles. Personal growth work and recovery started that very day.

Tera now runs spouse support groups, teaches online courses, and residential retreats on betrayal trauma recovery and emotional literacy, and she has spoken at numerous conferences. Her passion is to give hope, change lives, and find ways to help people take back their personal power by building personal safety and emotional sobriety. When we let life happen to us, we live in a victim place where everything is happening to us. When we learn to take responsibility and see things differently, we find our power and take charge of creating the life we want so we can recover and rediscover our lives. Together with Curtis, her husband of 25 years, she is raising 4 children to make their own impact in the world.
