Human Error foregoes the easy and overdone zombie take on the apocalypse, instead populating the devastated world with sirens and banshees. The howls and wails of impending attacks add intensity and discomfort thanks to effective sound design. The desolation and danger of the world is pretty well conveyed, although I would have liked a little more exploration of familiar settings like stores, schools and homes. I never really grew an affinity for the characters. As an ensemble surviving the peril of the new world they served the plot well, but not one of them was distinctive or memorable. There are certainly attempts at fleshing out character backstories but they never really stuck for me. Some of the voice acting is serviceable but some is really amateurish, which made for awkward exchanges and unnatural-sounding situations at times. I hope this is the springboard for future seasons as, with more experience of writing, editing and acting, this could develop into a really interesting show.
