There is a lot of news being circulated as we deal with the COVID-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, a lot of it is misleading or false. Not everyone is media literate, so it can be hard to know if what we are seeing is real or fake news. It's even more complicated when a friend, someone we like and trust posts fake news on social media.

I have noticed in my feed that a few friends have started posting "news" updates during the current health crisis. After carefully reading several of their posts, I decided to try to verify if they were posting the truth. Spoiler, they weren't. So I posted a 7-part response thread.
