Brian and Richard have been on the front line of gay activism in Toronto for 50 years – when the first Pride Parade was a protest, when cops raided their bathhouses, when the AIDS Committee of Toronto began, when young people in their twenties were dying from an epidemic then called GRID (Gay-Related Immune Deficiency), and when queer people were living in fear and grief.
