Þorvaldur Kristjánsson is the Icelandic horse breeding leader in Iceland. He is an agronomist, breeding judge and horse breeder, and in 2014 he defended his thesis "Riding Ability in Icelandic Horses– Effect of Conformation and the ‘Gait Keeper’ Mutation in the DMRT3 Gene".
