0:55

Oh, it's almost winter lunchtime. Is

0:57

that right, Matt Persily? Just tell us about your new

0:59

rotor of winter lunches. Yeah, I'm about to go

1:01

into winter. I've got jumpers

1:03

on now, and so therefore it means winter

1:06

lunches are going to start. That's soup and a nice

1:08

sourdough. Oh, I do love

1:10

a sourdough. I've never been a big soup man, but

1:13

maybe I'll delve in. Fairly kind

1:15

of just mid-tier, like the Covent Garden ones.

1:18

Not something super expensive off your

1:20

Big Finest ranges, but just kind of like

1:22

a poundage. I'm boring when it comes to soup. Just tomato

1:24

soup does

1:25

me fine. You can't go wrong with that. Are

1:27

you dedicated to having a soup every

1:29

day, then? What's your favorite soup, Jesse?

1:32

Oh, that's really stumped

1:34

me. I don't know. For some reason, I can't think of

1:36

a soup other than tomato soup, and that's not my favorite

1:38

soup. Minestrone.

1:41

No, not even that. I was going to type in best

1:43

soups on Google. Oxtail. I'm

1:46

not an oxtail guy.

1:48

I do actually like oxtail. Partner

1:50

makes a good oxtail soup, so let's go with that. Oxtail,

1:53

classic. Something like, I like

1:55

a potato and leek. I like a lentil and bacon.

1:58

Just a winter vegetable. good

2:00

as well. Well just pair

2:03

it with a good bread and you're banging.

2:05

Now you pair anything with a good bread and it goes well

2:07

doesn't it? That's why I

2:09

did the sausage last night. I had a lovely sausage

2:11

sandwich. I really wanted to see

2:13

what your segue was going to be from bread to what we're going to

2:15

discuss in a moment. Well

2:18

we can do that we can follow the trail of breadcrumbs

2:20

to Avatar from Tyr's oh

2:23

sure.

2:26

I'm Simon Caddis the IJ New King podcast

2:28

that's Jesse Gomez on my Thursday. What

2:30

are we going to talk about this week? Matt you've gone

2:33

hands-on with the upcoming Avatar game.

2:36

Jesse you've played through the whole of RoboCop

2:39

Rogue City. I watched

2:41

a new Scorsese film so as usual it's the

2:43

best week of every three years for me. Yeah

2:47

and I did a little bit of climbing but not in real

2:49

life. We'll get onto that soon.

2:53

Oh Avatar frontiers

2:55

of Pandora based on their hit

2:57

James Cameron blue people

3:00

series. Is

3:02

it just Far Cry? I think that's the main thing I want to

3:04

know. I think that's a lot of people when they watch the trailers

3:06

right for Avatar frontiers

3:09

Pandora they went well and maybe I'm putting

3:11

words people have when I watched it I thought oh

3:13

this is my Far Cry but with

3:15

big blue cat people. Is that what

3:18

this is? Oh are we going to be a politely

3:20

politely pleasantly surprised?

3:23

I think the answer is and I

3:26

apologize in advance it's yes and

3:28

no it's a little bit

3:30

from column A to a little bit from column

3:32

B. Does it make you feel like an Avatar? No

3:36

because you are actually a Navi you are

3:38

a genuine Navi rather than an Avatar.

3:41

Oh I didn't even know that. Yeah

3:44

so this is I guess it is based

3:47

on Avatar but it's also it's

3:49

a canon storyline

3:51

that's going to take place in the Avatar universe.

3:54

It's on a section of Pandora that nobody

3:56

has seen before even though the

3:58

bit that I play so I've played played two hours of it

4:01

and that is in a very rainforest

4:03

like bio. It very much

4:05

looks like Pandora. Yeah. What

4:07

I wanted to ask was are we playing as like the water

4:10

clan or the forest clan because like does

4:12

it have a specific unique biome? So

4:14

there are three different clans in

4:17

this game, three different biomes, but

4:19

I don't really know a huge amount about them

4:21

because we only got to play in one biome. But I do

4:23

know that kind of like one of them is more of

4:25

it. It's been in the trailers. There's the

4:27

rainforest stuff, which is what I played in.

4:30

But then there's a much more kind of like open plains,

4:32

almost Hyrule looking

4:35

ish kind of area. But

4:38

there is a clan for each of those which each have

4:40

their own kind of obviously

4:43

not way of water because it's not set by

4:46

the lakes and oceans like that one. The

4:48

second film was but I think like one

4:50

of them's got like the way of bones or

4:52

something like that. Like they use like animals

4:55

and stuff like that. But yeah, essentially

4:59

the bit that I played is set

5:01

in the rainforest a bit. And it is

5:04

very far cry in the fact that you obviously

5:07

it's open world. You can go around like

5:09

harvesting plants. You can hunt animals.

5:12

There are outposts, which are the RDA

5:14

human outposts to kind of take down. And

5:17

then there are main quest missions. What

5:20

I would say is whilst it's definitely

5:22

structurally quite like a far cry game

5:24

in, there's lots of little activities to do around. Some

5:26

of them are side quests. Some of them

5:29

are main quests. Some of them are, you

5:31

know, those sort of repeating activities that you see

5:33

in every like, you know, how when we played

5:35

Spider-Man kind of like a couple of weeks ago, each one

5:37

of those locations around New York has

5:39

got the same activities. You know, they're not the

5:41

identical, but they're of that activity

5:44

group. It's got all of that. It's got all the

5:46

shit that you expect from a far cry game. OK.

5:49

What I would say is it didn't necessarily feel

5:52

like I was just playing a far cry game. And

5:54

part of that is because obviously Avatar

5:56

doesn't look anything like Far Cry.

5:59

This is probably one of

6:02

the more impressive looking

6:05

games of this ilk, like you're on the

6:07

font here, you're in the wilderness. Because

6:10

every plant reacts to your

6:13

presence, so as you walk up to them, you know the

6:15

classic, the big trumpet-like

6:17

mushrooms that everybody knows, they're in Avatar,

6:19

that when they get close to them, they collapse

6:22

down, don't they? They are

6:24

around, and lots of plants of that ilk,

6:27

that when you get close to them, they all like pop

6:29

away, or they fizz, or they sort of sprout

6:32

things. And so it's got

6:34

this sort of sense of aliveness

6:36

that I wouldn't say you get out of a

6:39

far cry sort of environment. Is it a living, breathing

6:41

world? I mean, no, because

6:43

it's made out of ones and zeros. But

6:46

yes, it is probably the closest that

6:48

you could get to that sort of statement. And

6:50

it is genuinely beautiful. All

6:53

I can say is apologies about the video quality

6:57

on the preview that's up on IGN, because

7:00

we were only allowed to capture at 1080p, which is

7:02

odd for a game that looks that

7:04

good. But it did genuinely. For

7:06

a game that I thought in trailers didn't look great, I was

7:09

pleasantly surprised playing it. How

7:12

does it actually stack up when it comes to combat?

7:15

Because just based on the trailers, I think

7:17

the only enemies I've seen is you're going up against humans,

7:20

and now you could f***ing flick them

7:22

with their middle finger and they'll go fly in like 10 metres

7:24

in the air. Yeah, that's it. Fair

7:26

enough. We'll start with combat then.

7:29

I think this is the least interesting part

7:31

of this game, which is a shame, because as

7:33

with most people on this podcast, I love shooting

7:35

something. Just

7:37

a destructive person, aren't you, really? Yeah.

7:43

The combat engagements that

7:45

were in the demo, I didn't think were particularly

7:47

great. A cool

7:50

thing is that you've obviously got this split

7:52

of equipment. The

7:55

base premise is that because you were a Navi

7:57

that was kidnapped as a kid and you've been

7:59

held hostage... by the RDA, you

8:01

have a knowledge of how to use all the assault

8:04

rifles and shotguns and stuff like that.

8:06

Well, convenient. Yeah, but then basically the

8:09

narrative catalyst for this

8:12

is that you've returned to Pandora and

8:16

you're trying to link with

8:18

your Navi heritage. So you also

8:20

have all the Navi equipment, which is basically bows and

8:22

arrows. There are three different bows

8:24

of which I used two in this

8:27

demo, which was a long

8:31

bow, like just a standard, you know, like jack

8:33

of all trades long bow and a heavy bow,

8:35

which is, I mean,

8:38

as it sounds, it effectively fires

8:40

tree trunks. And

8:42

then I got something called a staff sling, which

8:45

was basically like a trap deployment

8:47

thing. Imagine like, is

8:50

it lacrosse, the one that you play with a net? Imagine

8:53

that the lacrosse staff stick thing,

8:55

but you put a grenade in the end of it and like

8:57

punt it across the world. And

9:01

I got a human assault rifle, obviously

9:03

assault rifles, super loud, really inaccurate.

9:06

You also, I don't think you could look

9:08

down the sights on them. So they're kind

9:10

of a little bit more kind of rattly. And

9:13

then the bow is much more precise, but

9:16

obviously slower, stealthier. And

9:18

so you can see kind of like where the two gameplay

9:20

kind of patterns there. The issue that

9:22

I had was that I

9:25

obviously as as a child of Dishonored

9:28

played it fairly stealthy. And

9:31

only in one combat situation

9:35

did that pose any like challenge.

9:38

So you go up, you'd find like groups of humans

9:40

that were kind of like pottering around the open world

9:43

doing generally doing something nasty

9:45

to something in nature. So for example, one of

9:47

them had got this giant like rhinoceros style

9:50

creature in a cage. I

9:53

was able to pick off every single one of

9:55

the like five people that were guarding

9:57

that without any of the others. knowing

10:00

that I was doing it. So it's like there

10:02

was no combat challenge at all. It was just, wunt,

10:04

wunt, wunt, wunt. And

10:07

I would have expected if when one of them went

10:09

down like a sack of potatoes, that

10:12

one of the others would be like, what the hell's going

10:14

on here? And it's not going into an alert phase. They

10:17

didn't. And that happened like three times.

10:20

So I just think that the AI might be a bit

10:22

brain dead. I can imagine the challenge

10:24

would be with, you know, the mechs and going up

10:26

against the actual machinery of whatever the army's

10:28

called and whatnot. Yes

10:31

and no. So you

10:33

can take down the mechs with the bows. They

10:35

haven't done anything to do that. You

10:38

can take them down very easily with the machine

10:40

guns. I was quite surprised at

10:42

how easy an AMP mech goes

10:44

down. Like they went down super quick. But

10:46

what you have is, you

10:50

know how in Horizon, you can use like

10:52

the vision that shows you where all of the weak

10:54

points are on like one of the

10:57

robot beasts? It has exactly

10:59

that. You can also from the weapon

11:02

wheel craft like different types

11:04

of arrows, exactly

11:06

like you do in Horizon. And

11:09

it uses that system where like you fire at the weak

11:11

points. So for example, on an AMP mech, some

11:14

of them have rocket launchers that are on the back of

11:16

them. So if you shoot the rockets, they explode

11:19

and basically destroy the mech. I wasn't asked is

11:21

it just like shooting through the big sheet of glass

11:23

and then they all die. Well, you can do that. So

11:25

for example, like if they've got the glass canopy

11:28

on the front, you can shoot to that glass canopy and then

11:30

shoot the pilot. And then the mech is

11:32

dealt with. Or you can like fire

11:34

an arrow into the exhaust vent on

11:36

the back and that causes like an internal

11:39

explosion. So there's definitely kind

11:41

of like, I think that's cool in the idea of it's

11:43

promoting precision. Right? Like,

11:45

do you want to just go in with a machine gun which will

11:47

just shatter the canopy and kill it? The Horizon

11:50

of it all. Yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely. I

11:52

think if this game was in third person,

11:55

there'd be a lot more of a like, oh, this is

11:57

a bit of a Horizon kind of knockoff.

12:00

not Far Cry Primal. Yeah, which

12:03

it does feel more like that, I'd say. But

12:06

I like the weak point structure that Horizon

12:08

has got, so I'm not going to criticize this for having

12:10

that, because that's the interesting part of combat.

12:13

I love that combat. And it is

12:15

like you mentioned the enemy AI. Maybe that'll

12:17

be different in a month or so when it releases,

12:19

but because Massive are like,

12:22

for me anyway, I think the Division's enemy AI

12:24

is really smart. It's really good. I

12:27

don't know, like, obviously you can't just

12:29

copy and paste code over to enemies, but

12:31

like, it is weird if they've gone

12:33

from, you know, some of the smartest enemy AI to absolute

12:35

dunce. Or maybe they're meant to

12:38

be stupid because they're stupid humans invading

12:40

a plant, but it doesn't make for a fun time. No, no.

12:42

And it's like, as you say, I've played quite

12:44

a lot of the Division earlier this year, and

12:47

those enemies properly flank you and they've got

12:50

lots of different abilities that they can use against you.

12:52

Whereas, yeah, the most combat

12:54

I got was when I went to do, the

12:57

last bit of the demo was kind of an outpost takedown.

13:00

You had to go to this RDA compound, which obviously

13:02

is quite a different, it's a big transition

13:04

from being in the rainforest to being in this massive,

13:06

like, concrete steel base. And

13:10

it's got a little bit of rudimentary

13:12

kind of immersive sim style things where, like, you

13:14

can find a vent to kick the vent in and then creep

13:17

into it. And there's a few gantry ways

13:19

and there's like these

13:21

hooks that you can hook onto which will take you up

13:24

a few levels. So it's got some

13:26

very basic kind of stealth work in

13:28

there. And then you have

13:30

to go around that base looking for essentially

13:32

it's like five switches to turn off all the drilling

13:35

and, you know, make the place explode or whatever. The

13:39

stealth was okay, but I found that, like,

13:41

I was more spotted easily in that situation

13:44

because there's so many people in that base. And,

13:46

you know, like a 10 foot blue. Yeah,

13:49

exactly. In a building. And

13:51

things kicked off more there and

13:53

the mech suits that were in that base

13:55

were like maybe like the next rank

13:58

up. So they were a little bit beefier. And

14:00

that combat was more of an issue

14:02

because when you get seen

14:04

in that situation, they raise the alarm reinforcement

14:06

to turn up. And that was definitely when

14:09

things have all kicked off. It's

14:11

more of a traditional far cryy

14:14

sort of combat encounter. But

14:16

when I was encountering them out in the open world,

14:18

they just didn't know I was there. And there

14:20

was no sense of kind of like risk

14:23

reward against them. It was like, oh, I can

14:25

just headshot all of these people and be on

14:27

my merry way. So I'd like to see

14:29

that improved. To

14:31

talk about something that's a little bit more impressive is actually

14:34

it's like the traversal around

14:36

the open world. That's what I wanted to ask

14:38

is obviously, you know, you watch the films and the navi can like,

14:40

you know, without any effort, just sort of dance

14:43

and glide over the entire environment. Because obviously it's

14:45

their home and stuff. And although I almost imagine

14:48

this, wanting to control

14:50

like a mirror's edge kind of thing, just being

14:52

able to climb near enough. Have you read my preview,

14:54

Jesse? No, I haven't. Rude?

14:58

Well, yeah, rude to begin with. Sorry,

15:00

I'm a busy man. There is a direct

15:02

comparison to mirror's edge in my preview.

15:07

It's not mirror's edge in that it's not a genuine

15:09

parkour system. Like it doesn't

15:12

have kind of like that full

15:14

attention to detail. But

15:17

what it is is you can leap and

15:19

there's a real good sense of balance

15:22

in the kind of like you can leap

15:24

up into tree branches and

15:27

you can run along those tree branches without

15:29

feeling like, you know, when you try and do platforming

15:31

in first person games, it can quite often feel a

15:33

bit precarious. Yeah, yeah, yeah. This

15:36

never had that. I never died once

15:38

from a like leaping or

15:40

running situation where I was kind of like 15

15:43

foot off the ground. Well, I'd be higher

15:45

than that because obviously their 10 foot to begin with, 15 foot

15:47

wouldn't be a good drop. But all

15:50

of this came together in this like this central

15:52

quest called Take

15:55

Flight, where basically you run

15:57

up a mountain and obviously this mountain is the

15:59

kind of like,

15:59

classic avatar style where it all branches

16:02

out and covered in tree vines and stuff

16:04

like that.

16:05

And you get to the top and that's where you get your

16:07

your Banshee, your Ikran. Um so

16:09

you can call Carol right? You can

16:11

call Carol. You have read my preview. Yeah

16:14

I remember you guys joking about and I saw the actual

16:16

image I was like why can you call it Carol? Yeah

16:18

you can call it Carol or Fluth as well

16:20

as a variety of other actual Navi style

16:23

names. Um but yeah actually

16:25

getting up that mountain was like genuinely really fun

16:27

because it's all the stuff that I like about

16:30

first person kind of like fluid

16:33

movement system. And it's

16:35

combined with well

16:38

there's so many plants in this world and most

16:41

of them are just kind of like for decoration.

16:44

But quite a lot quite a few of them what they

16:46

call planimals um Jesus

16:49

Christ uh are

16:51

able to kind of like give you movement buffs. So for

16:53

example kind of like there are these plants that spray

16:56

out a blue mist and when you run

16:58

through them and inhale that mist it makes you fester.

17:00

So you start to recognize that they are dotted

17:03

around in kind of like pathways. So

17:05

you just they've become like booster pads

17:08

in in something like a sonic right? Where you're running.

17:10

You're going always fucking high just shooting up mid-drive.

17:12

Yeah basically and then there's kind of like there was

17:14

this bit where there was like these giant mushrooms that

17:16

you could bounce on that got you up to higher.

17:19

There's these vines that remind me a lot

17:21

of the barnacles from Half-Life and that when

17:23

you grab their like tongues they

17:25

lift you up. So all of that

17:27

kind of chained together and it was like I

17:30

was genuinely having fun doing that and then

17:32

at the top you you get to like bond with

17:34

the ichron and then you can. You bought them on

17:36

carol? Yeah yeah I called mine carol. And

17:39

then like you just get to leap off the top of this mountain

17:42

and then fly around on this ichron which

17:45

the ichron itself feels kind of slow compared

17:47

to what you do on the ground and I guess that's probably

17:49

because it goes into third

17:51

person and you can see a lot more of the world

17:53

but I think did you

17:55

get a sense of just how big this open world is?

17:58

Like I'm guessing you'll need to fly around.

17:59

because you

18:00

can't run around the whole of it. I mean, I

18:02

would imagine, you know, kind of like when you think of how

18:04

big the map is in Horizon

18:07

Forbidden West, like that's a colossal

18:09

massive. And

18:11

obviously towards the end of that game, when you

18:14

when you get your flying mount, that obviously changes

18:16

kind of a lot of your

18:19

feeling of how big that map is and all of that. I

18:21

do think that like the Iqran, from what I understand

18:23

you, this was about 20 to 25 percent

18:25

of the way into the game. So you get that a lot earlier

18:28

than you would in Horizon. So

18:31

I think the size of the map

18:33

is probably considered and also the Iqran

18:36

is more a part of the Avatar DNA, isn't

18:38

it? Like you need that to fulfill that fantasy.

18:41

So I think the map is large and

18:44

the seemed maybe less fast travel

18:46

locations than the would be in like a traditional

18:48

Far Cry. Everything I'm hearing about

18:50

this game, like it doesn't sound bad by any means, but it all

18:53

just sounds like bits borrowed

18:55

from a lot of the games. But

18:57

like, is is this what what

18:59

what sets this game apart?

19:02

Is it the way it like confronts the nature

19:04

side of things? It's definitely

19:06

a game where what I would say is, whilst

19:08

it's very structurally like Far Cry, if

19:11

the two hours I played is representative

19:13

of the whole. I'd

19:15

say this is a less confrontational

19:18

game than Far Cry is about gunning your

19:20

way through like, like

19:22

Savage Lands really, isn't it? Is this kind

19:24

of like the way that it's almost set up? Whereas

19:27

this is definitely more about your harmonious

19:30

relationship with nature. There was much more like

19:33

the activities were, oh, hey,

19:35

here's a creature

19:37

that has been stuck with an RDA dart.

19:39

So you approach it and you pull the dart out and that

19:42

saves the creature from, I guess,

19:44

slavery or whatever. A lot

19:46

of kind of like cooking, almost that Zelda

19:48

coziness in that kind of like you're

19:50

going around and like when you harvest,

19:53

whereas in Far Cry, you'd use your machete right and

19:56

cut the plant and then take it in

19:58

this. It's like it's like a lock picking mini game. you have to go

20:00

up and pick the fruit and you rotate

20:02

the analog stick until the

20:04

controller vibrates correctly and then you

20:07

gently pull the fruit from the plant. So

20:09

it's all about being respectful and there's

20:11

this idea of quality over quantity

20:14

where if you pick

20:16

like this fruit while it's raining it

20:18

will be of better quality. So

20:21

it's not about like collecting 150 different

20:23

fruits, it's more about getting like the three

20:26

or four that are good and using

20:28

that and cooking makes

20:31

meals that give you buffs and

20:33

also your health will

20:35

only regenerate if you've eaten. So you

20:38

have to keep like your energy meter up. So

20:40

there's a lot more of this kind of like harmonious

20:43

with nature. Whether

20:45

that's the sort of thing that actually genuinely

20:47

sets it apart or just feels like one

20:49

layer of a game that otherwise

20:52

might largely feel a lot like not

20:55

one specific game you've felt before, sorry

20:58

that you've played before, but like a lot

21:00

of games that you're very familiar with. A lot of kind

21:02

of systems and

21:06

approaches that are just kind

21:08

of like not I wouldn't even say

21:10

in vogue at the moment that are just part of the

21:12

general landscape. And so

21:15

while I was I sort of expected the

21:17

worst out of this going in I'm not a massive fan

21:19

of the Avatar films. Like I think they're beautiful but

21:22

I don't have any interest in that world. So

21:25

I went in expecting it to just be Far Cry

21:27

with that with that skin

21:29

on. It's definitely not that and the

21:32

thing that I got out of it most I really love jumping around

21:34

and running across those branches. I

21:37

think it is absolutely one of those Christmas games

21:39

where you can just pledge out with it and just like

21:42

do it because you know what the checklist is. Well

21:44

it's funny co-op isn't it? Yeah yeah it's

21:46

a two-player co-op game of which you know maybe

21:49

that is something that I potter around with.

21:53

I like what I think what they've made is good. I

21:55

don't think what they've made is anything

21:58

exceptional at least at this point. Maybe maybe

22:00

full playthrough of you again.

22:03

Whereas before I had that kind of no interest

22:05

in playing this, I'm now like,

22:07

I'm not excited necessarily,

22:10

but I'm intrigued, it is doing a couple of different

22:12

things. So that's exactly how I feel about

22:15

it. He was more exploring that world, that sounds

22:17

interesting. At least the movement was the main thing for

22:19

me, because I don't want it to feel sluggish, because that's just

22:21

not who you're playing as. No, no, no,

22:23

you feel really nimble, and that was the thing

22:25

that I enjoyed the most. I thought that was really

22:28

cool. And

22:31

just the look of the world,

22:33

and I'm pleased that they've tried to create a game that

22:35

is more about that harmony with the natural world.

22:38

It should be an eco warrior game, right?

22:40

It should be about protecting natural

22:42

environments from the poison

22:44

of humankind. Exactly. Well,

22:46

that links us on to Robocop, which

22:49

is another, obviously another game based on

22:51

a film where I suppose he's trying to, you

22:53

know, combat the toxicity

22:56

of humankind as well, in a way, by

22:58

policing the streets of neo

23:01

noir Detroit. Jesse,

23:04

Rogue City is a game set between

23:07

Robocop two and three. But

23:09

I don't think people really need to worry about being

23:11

a whole like deal up on their

23:13

Robocop sequel, or do they? I mean,

23:15

I wouldn't say it's important, especially

23:18

since it has been ages since I've

23:20

watched Robocop one or two. And I don't

23:22

even think I've seen three. Not that it

23:24

matters for the specific game.

23:27

Obviously, Avatar, we're talking about how nimble those

23:30

characters are. I think Robocop famously

23:32

un-nimble, quite a solid slow

23:35

gentleman. That's

23:38

the one question I have about this game. It's obviously

23:40

a shooter, but a shooter where you kind of play as a walking

23:43

tank. For me, when I look at shooters,

23:45

like my favorite shooters are something like Titanfall 2, or

23:48

where movement is key, like sliding

23:51

around and jumping around. I like being nimble. Like when

23:53

I play online shooters, I'll play more, you

23:55

know, I like playing Tracer rather than, you

23:57

know, slow their characters in Overwatch. Does

24:01

that still, is it fun to just walk

24:03

around and shoot? Or do you wish you could

24:05

run and dodge? That's the one big question I have

24:07

about this game. I think it's sort of, that's

24:10

sort of handled with the fact of how many enemies

24:13

you usually face, because you're dealing

24:16

with just an insane onslaught of

24:18

like, dudes on motorbikes

24:20

who are charging at you, guys who are carrying

24:23

like, little bombs and they run up to you so

24:25

they can you know, blow themselves up with you

24:27

as well and you know, you're going up against robots

24:29

and all these other things and like,

24:32

it does feel like just

24:34

chunky. I don't know, it feels chunky to play

24:36

Robocop because every time you know, you're walking around you're

24:39

hearing his, you're hearing his feet, hearing

24:41

that thud of you know, the ground hitting it. It

24:44

still feels good, right? It's not too

24:46

short a game either, like it keeps it

24:48

going. I finished it in like, I

24:50

think seven or eight hours. That'll

24:53

be like 10 to 12 for most of it because you just go

24:56

mad. I'm assuming because there's

24:58

quite a lot of side objectives in it as well, isn't it? Did

25:00

you, that mainline just core objectives?

25:02

Yeah, it's near enough mainline. I did a few side quests

25:04

and stuff and the way the game sort

25:07

of operates is that it's not like one continuous

25:09

sort of open world. There's sort of like little

25:12

hubs that you'll explore and there'll be a few missions,

25:15

side missions to do within those hubs and then you have your

25:17

main objective and if you're about to leave the area,

25:19

the game will literally say, you're about to leave,

25:21

here are the side missions you haven't done once you leave, they're

25:24

over. It's actually constructed quite a

25:26

lot like an arcane game or like old Deus

25:28

Ex where you go into a hub zone

25:30

and you've got the main objective but also quite a

25:32

few other things you can do. Yeah, and like some

25:35

of those side things that you

25:37

can do earlier on are a bit stupid.

25:40

There's one thing where I was walking around a police station

25:42

trying to get people to sign cards for someone.

25:45

I kind of like that. It kind of, it hearts

25:48

back to the eight. Like it's Robocop, no

25:50

matter how, you know, it has kind of got a serious

25:52

satirical message to it. But

25:55

it, just the design of it, it is

25:57

silly. Oh no, it's ridiculous. There was another one where some

25:59

other cop was like, Oh, I don't want to deal with the people

26:01

who are you like lining up to you know put in

26:03

police reports Can you do and then Robocop's like next

26:05

in line and it's just really dumb and stuff and I

26:08

really like the two quests So yeah, so

26:10

I've only done the first kind of two main

26:12

kind of missions in it But I

26:14

did both of those side quests and I

26:16

do really like the the

26:19

contrast of this fucking walking

26:21

tank man Helping

26:23

people at the front desk because he's just a

26:25

beat cop That's what he is and I like that

26:28

he gets to just do beat cop stuff in this

26:31

but I think what's

26:32

great is

26:33

Because I think

26:35

the game what did we score like a seven? I

26:38

think and I think that's it What do you

26:40

think well? No? I was just gonna say is sort of like

26:42

the perfect seven or six out of ten

26:45

Experience and if you are looking just to like blow

26:48

shit up. This is the perfect game for it It's got an impressive

26:50

amount of destruction to it especially

26:53

if you're in like an office building or Just

26:56

near enough anywhere if you're like letting loose with an oozy

26:58

like the walls are crumbling down things are exploding

27:00

Glasses shattering everywhere and even when you're killing

27:03

people like bits of their brain

27:05

gets stuck to the wall and slides down with

27:07

the blood is Ridiculous, but I mean Robocop

27:09

one and two like those were ridiculously

27:11

violent films anyway Perfectly

27:15

leaning into the source material right that

27:17

is one thing I've noticed from like I still not play the second

27:19

in this game But from watching all the trades and the gameplay

27:21

like they have got the feel of Robocop right in the

27:23

aesthetic Yeah, I was always intrigued

27:25

like I don't know if they were this was overblown

27:27

in previous or not like people saying There's like quite

27:30

a bit of a detective element to the game is

27:32

that actually there no and this is what really

27:34

I mean Not that

27:37

do people I'm

27:39

not making you I think most people know I'm

27:41

not looking for like a sex moments But there was one

27:43

particular moment where I'll sort of investigating

27:45

this garage and stuff And I was

27:48

putting my points in to be able to like convince

27:50

people But I didn't really put my points my skill

27:52

points rather into being able to like I

27:55

know examine items and there's

27:57

There'll be scenes that we possibly need to investigate

27:59

a scene

27:59

and stuff just to gather evidence and then you can

28:02

confront a character about whatever and there was one

28:04

part where there was a note Literally

28:06

on this table. I myself could

28:08

read that note. I Scanned it as

28:11

robot copy and he was like my deduction level wasn't great

28:13

I can't read this note written in English and I was

28:15

like that's fucking stupid I think

28:17

I think the RPG part of this game

28:20

is like surplus to

28:22

requirement. It really didn't need it So for example

28:25

as similar to that when I was playing it last

28:27

night I saw there was like this massive

28:29

crate against a wall and there were scratches

28:32

on the ground Which very clearly showed

28:34

that like this has been moved to the side because

28:36

there's something hidden behind it Because my

28:38

deduction skill wasn't high enough like

28:41

unfortunately Murph is just a bit like I

28:43

do not know what this is Yeah,

28:45

it just made me question like what is RoboCop's

28:47

reading level because it's clearly like level one or some

28:49

shit He's an idiot in this game I ultimately

28:52

think like the game just didn't need an RPG

28:54

system because But what I will say is

28:56

maybe sort of counter to what you've just said there Jesse

28:58

is that I actually do think there is a Surprising amount

29:01

of quote-unquote detective work in this it's

29:03

not la noir in the fact that kind of like you

29:05

are doing Or

29:08

something like Sherlock Holmes where you're having to make actual

29:10

do not interrogating people. I mean

29:12

sometimes you are Oh, okay But

29:15

but not in that not in the way that la noir

29:17

does it what I would say is the surprising thing

29:19

for me is I came to this game expecting

29:21

it to be an 80s

29:23

style first-person shooter where like you're just

29:26

walking through corridors Absolutely

29:28

blasting the shit out of people so they explode There

29:31

is a surprising amount of this game that isn't

29:33

shooting like where the gun is literally locked

29:36

in your puddin Oh, no that when it's just like

29:38

dialogue and exploring. Oh, yeah You know

29:41

we said where it's boring which I don't I don't like

29:43

I do love the the shooting but yeah

29:47

I say love like I like the shooting But

29:49

yeah, I was surprised at how much of this game

29:52

is walking around locations chatting

29:54

to people Doing like

29:56

solving why considered like more minor crimes

29:58

like the the main sort element of the

30:01

first hub that you go to which is kind of like just Detroit

30:04

streets at night is it's

30:06

like the mayor's daughter's car has been

30:08

stolen so that's like your secondary case it's like

30:10

work this out and so you're just going

30:13

around questioning people uh

30:15

working out you know what's happened and you

30:17

eventually like find the car stolen

30:19

and and work that out and then there was like another

30:21

one where there's like a police

30:24

informant called Pickles there's a very

30:26

very good 80s joke in there regarding

30:28

whether people think his name is Gherkin or Pickles

30:32

um but but

30:34

again that is you're going to people's houses and chat

30:36

to people and working out where this missing cop has

30:38

gone yeah um so there is a surprising

30:41

like i would say like 40 of this game maybe even 50 isn't

30:45

just walking around and blowing people's

30:47

heads off which is not the game that i expected

30:50

out of this yeah i mean there's

30:52

there is a ton of dialogue to go through and stuff and it's sort

30:54

of um each even sort

30:56

of chapter is uh put together with Robocop

30:59

speaking to a therapist

31:01

from uh ocp who's been like assigned

31:04

to him and it's sort of like their way of

31:06

giving you um like a ranking at the

31:09

end of each chapter and stuff and you're sort of like

31:11

reminds me a little bit of like blader on a 2049 like

31:13

a little debrief writing goals yeah

31:16

it is sort of like then like there are like

31:18

certain ramifications that you know can

31:21

occur and stuff there are different endings

31:23

in this game similar not not crazy

31:26

like different outcomes like something you might find in a like

31:28

an arcane game whatever but it's almost i don't

31:32

know if it's comparison is fair but

31:34

it almost fall out in a way

31:36

where you're going to get different slides at

31:38

the end of the game okay and a rate of depending

31:40

on you know the actions you've done and stuff like that because

31:42

there are certain moments where you

31:44

know you can put a parking ticket on someone's car

31:47

and that's serving the justice if you find someone

31:49

doing graffiti on the wall you can be like fuck

31:51

you i'm arresting you like it's just a warning

31:54

you know and there are like other options where you know

31:56

you can either try and save people let

31:59

them die It seems like it has

32:01

like this broad, you know how Mass Effect has Paragon

32:03

and Renegade? It seems like every choice

32:05

that you make is either like

32:07

upholding the public trust or upholding

32:10

the law. And the law is very much the one

32:12

where like you stick to the book and if

32:14

someone has done a crime,

32:17

you absolutely hold them to account

32:19

and you give them a ticket or you arrest them. And

32:21

then like upholding the public trust

32:23

is being more of a... It's just being nice. Yeah,

32:25

I understand why you might have done this

32:27

thing that would technically be considered a crime

32:30

but I'm going to let you off. I'm more

32:32

intrigued to play this now. I was going to... It was going to

32:34

be when I saved NDA and I still might but like...

32:37

Because my one worry was it would be a bit one-noted,

32:39

just would be walking through destroying a thing

32:41

which can be, you know, a bit of light relief by

32:43

supposed to blow in those stuff up. But yeah, I'm actually

32:45

more intrigued by that whole detective side of it and

32:47

the talking and the... It's absolutely

32:50

a B game for a B

32:52

movie. And it,

32:55

you know, occasionally it's got a little bit of what I would

32:57

consider that Eurojank where it's reaching a little

32:59

bit too far for what it actually is. I

33:03

don't know if I'm ever going to finish this game. There are a lot

33:05

of other games out. I'm, you know, barely

33:07

into Alan Wake at this point. A lot

33:09

of get on with that. Oh, I love it.

33:12

It's exactly my sort of game. I'm having an amazing

33:14

time with that game. It's... Like

33:16

I said last week, Baldur's Gate is still my

33:18

game of the year but my heart wants

33:20

to say it's Alan Wake. You're

33:22

allowed to have a number two pick. I know

33:25

exactly. That is my second favorite game of

33:27

the year so far. So it's like, you know, I

33:29

am not... I don't have essentially

33:32

any intention to very quickly go back to Robocop. Now

33:34

I've played like the first two like

33:36

settings in it. And now I'm going to

33:38

go off and I'm going to finish Alan Wake and

33:40

I'm, you know, there are a few other games that I want to get

33:43

through. But

33:45

I do think like at some point I might come back

33:47

to this. There is something about it. I just think is

33:50

it's just above... It's a little bit above

33:53

mindless, but when it does

33:55

the mindless bits, they explode

33:57

and they explode good. And then when you do the robo...

34:00

Robo copy bits. It's got that kind of tongue-in-cheek

34:03

80s about it. It's also it's definitely

34:05

not alien in terms of like its presentation

34:08

But it's definitely got a little bit of that like

34:10

I like it when you scan things and

34:13

they've made the UI It

34:15

looks like it's been pulled from an 80s movie. It's got

34:17

that fuzzyness around the edge of it The

34:19

color grading on it is all

34:21

exactly pulled from an 80s film I mean

34:24

even the people you're going up against like, you know These

34:26

sort of like 70s 80s looking punks

34:28

and stuff of the crazy hair you're fighting in arcades

34:30

and even beyond that You're fighting like biker gangs

34:33

or you know Visiting the OCP

34:35

headquarters and a bunch of other places you'll

34:37

recognize from the films even down to specific

34:40

enemies from those films as well So if you

34:42

know if you enjoyed those

34:44

films,

34:45

I'll see no reason why you shouldn't play RoboCop

34:47

It seems like a good solid sheet and there's definitely

34:49

a step up from their last game the Terminator one,

34:52

which was a I know I've

34:55

always heard mixed things about those seems like that is like

34:57

a hidden gem among I

34:59

think hit I think GM is a strong a

35:01

strong word Not for me. That's

35:04

for the last fair. Do you know what is

35:06

for me though? I'm Martin scores a Z

35:08

for you don't say I do I

35:10

do like a big Marty

35:13

ironic little man, isn't it? About

35:15

cardi. What's this one about? Actually

35:18

looked at anything to do with this film. So

35:20

yeah, I treat myself on Monday We all had the day

35:22

off and I took myself to pitch

35:25

out central in the afternoon on a

35:27

Monday me and four other people in There just

35:29

soaking in that Dolby set at most sound

35:32

What's what scream with it? Yeah, like scream

35:35

one. Oh, yeah, that's a true one I

35:37

made sure I picked that's my favorite. Maybe

35:40

my favorite. Well, definitely my favorite screen for sound

35:42

in London But I treated myself. I

35:45

took myself there only like 13 quid cuz it's

35:47

a Monday afternoon I need to be like a pensioner

35:49

who gets to go to the cinema during the day. That'd

35:52

be great I was killed so

35:54

I couldn't come with you. I know I

35:56

still need to go see the killer though So if anyone sees

35:58

him, I'll see you in the cinema

36:01

yeah I was just coming to Netflix

36:03

I do really want to see that pay attention I'm

36:05

sorry I'm busy anyway kills

36:07

a foul moon is an Apple

36:09

TV film but is in the cinemas at the

36:11

moment will eventually come to Apple I'm guessing

36:14

in a few weeks before the end of the year haven't given a firm

36:16

release date yet it

36:19

is three and a half hours long which is why

36:21

I think a lot of people would want

36:23

to watch it at home so you can pause it I

36:26

I need to see it's in the cinema and as I said numerous

36:28

times for I love it like film that doesn't

36:30

really bother me like go as long as you need and I'll

36:33

be there sitting there didn't even need to get up

36:35

once I was very proud of myself

36:38

and my bladder killers

36:40

of the flower moon is a

36:43

true story of in

36:45

the 1920s in Osage County in

36:47

the United States of America

36:51

the Osage people the Native

36:53

Americans basically were forcibly

36:55

moved to this land but then you

36:57

know it was considered you know dead

37:00

land and I would want to live there so they're basically

37:02

moved there by white settlers turns

37:04

out lots of oil in this part of the

37:06

world they stumble across so

37:08

they're gonna drink it I can actually

37:11

this is why I love the film because it's an I love

37:13

an oil film basically

37:17

yeah so these Native Americans become

37:20

suddenly some of the richest people in the country because

37:22

they have the land rights to the oil this oil

37:24

money so naturally in the years that follow

37:27

lots of white people come to this this

37:29

area of the country build up a town and

37:33

start marrying these Native

37:36

American women who own land

37:38

rights oh it's like a fucking

37:40

Game of Thrones style marriage so it's

37:42

kind of a big old pyramid

37:45

scheme conspiracy of murder and this is all a

37:47

true story like everything happened all the cats

37:49

in this film were in real life so basically

37:52

yeah mysteriously a lot of these

37:54

young and a lot of these young women and men

37:57

as well just end up dying

37:59

so it's

37:59

kind of this film

38:02

revolves around

38:03

Molly who is played by Lily Godstone

38:06

who is one of these women and she is unbelievably

38:10

good in this film. This is one of the best performances I've

38:12

seen in a long time. There's one just like

38:14

noise, one like scream she lets out

38:16

in this film that like genuinely like

38:18

just like I don't get overly

38:20

emotional during films but like brought a tear to my eye just one

38:23

that's one noise and I was like Jesus that is like

38:26

like raw emotion and

38:29

it stands around her relationship with Leonardo

38:31

DiCaprio's character Ernest who she

38:33

marries and their

38:36

relationship with his uncle played

38:38

by Robert De Niro who is kind of he's

38:41

considered like the king of this town he like

38:43

everyone loves him like he does good things to

38:45

everyone the white people and the Native American

38:47

people. Is he an oil

38:49

man though? He's not necessarily

38:52

an oil man though. How true is this? How

38:54

nice he is. Well he

38:56

appears nice. Look this is

38:58

I'm not going to spoil this story but you know it's

39:00

a true story you can read up it's based on a book

39:03

if you want to know about it before seeing the film you

39:05

can. I don't think I necessarily ruin it because

39:07

the film never presents itself as like a whodunit

39:10

like you know pretty early on what's going on here

39:12

it's more a procedural about are

39:15

they going to get away with this and the relationships

39:18

between Leonardo

39:20

DiCaprio and Lily Glasses characters and how

39:22

kind of like what can can you

39:26

love someone and still do horrible things

39:28

to someone and can that

39:30

be forgiven which is arguably

39:33

no. Is it told

39:35

from a particular perspective of one

39:37

of the characters? It kind of

39:40

I would say it starts off from

39:42

the perspective of Leonardo DiCaprio and kind of follows

39:44

him through the film kind of shifts to

39:48

Lily Gassens character for bits of it but

39:50

it is kind of that's the interesting bit like from

39:52

the start you are kind of centred on

39:54

these people that obviously are not the best people

39:56

in the world and quite

39:58

stupid people as well. just like he's

40:01

he's characters just come back from the First World War

40:03

and kind of come back to town with not really anything

40:05

to do and he's kind of told by Robert Meara's

40:07

character, oh, maybe, you know, you should go marry

40:10

one of these women. That

40:12

is kind of the setup. And it's

40:14

also, coincidentally,

40:17

kind of ties in with the birth of the FBI.

40:19

So Jesse

40:22

Plemons, everyone's favourite, like comes to town

40:24

one day, and he is a one of the first

40:26

like FBI detectives, basically. And

40:28

that's how the like, that's part of the story,

40:31

which the book, I believe goes into a much more

40:33

depth is about like the start and the birth of the FBI,

40:35

whereas the film centers much more on just

40:37

this town and what happened. It's

40:42

unbelievably good. Like I was like blown

40:44

away. Like I'm still I still, I know

40:46

people say it's like, I can't stop thinking about it. Like days

40:48

off this film, I'm still thinking about it. Like, it

40:52

is so powerfully good. Like

40:54

every performance is on point. My

40:56

score is easy. It's just the man's in his

40:58

eighties. And he's just still pumping out some of

41:01

the best work. Like this is, I think, quite

41:03

easy. Now I say my film idea, like, it is

41:06

so good. I can't recommend it enough. It is,

41:09

you know, it is a long 200 minutes.

41:12

And it isn't, you know, at times

41:15

it like speeds along, because film

41:17

is scumaker is like my hero, her

41:19

editing in school, as a films always kind

41:21

of keeps things ticking along, unless

41:23

you're maybe watching Silence or Kundun. But

41:27

there are times where it kind of feels like, kind

41:31

of has a bit of silence to it. But also,

41:33

you know, a little bit the Irishman to it as well,

41:36

kind of that whole melancholy of like,

41:39

this is just a terrible situation. And

41:41

like, kind of the thing I think, because he's been

41:44

wrestling with for decades, it's like, kind

41:46

of, is there redemption in bad people

41:49

is kind of the theme of always films, I think. And

41:51

this definitely explores that. It's

41:54

so good. Like, if you don't want to see this in a while, I get it. It's

41:56

a long time to commit. But when

41:58

this comes to Apple TV, I recommend everyone. on. Give

42:00

it a go. Do you think you

42:02

really lose out if you're, I know it's bad

42:05

to say for his films, do you think you're really

42:07

losing out for not watching it in the cinema?

42:10

I thought, for me personally, I needed

42:12

to sit in the cinema because it sounds

42:14

amazing about the score from Robbie Robertson who did a

42:16

lot of his scores. He actually died a few months

42:18

ago, it's unbelievably good as well. I'm glad I

42:20

saw it. I wanted to go to cinema more for the sound

42:23

than the image. It looks stunning

42:25

as well, but I wanted it more for the sound and

42:28

I'm glad I did. At home, you'd

42:30

still get a, you know, I watched The Irishman

42:32

at home, I didn't actually go see The Irishman at the cinema, I still

42:34

loved it. This is

42:36

better than The Irishman though. This is like, I

42:39

think this is, if I had to put it now, it

42:41

says like in his top five films, which is, you know, a

42:43

high mark. And where did The Irishman lie on that?

42:46

Ah, that's probably like, I don't know, eight or something?

42:48

Very high. Five for me. In

42:51

terms of, it's obviously incredibly

42:55

hard subject matter, right? Like, whereas, you know,

42:58

Scorsese obviously has had a career

43:00

where he has been looking at incredibly

43:02

horrible people, but earlier on

43:04

in his career, much more fictitious kind of people.

43:07

And he's obviously a man that is

43:09

confronting his own mortality at this point, right?

43:11

And realizing that incredibly

43:13

horrible things happen in the world. And he's kind

43:15

of turned an eye here to actual

43:18

real atrocities. How

43:20

kind of sensitively does it deal with

43:22

like the kind of the essay sort

43:25

of side of things? I think it does it. I mean,

43:27

I can't, obviously, from not from

43:29

that culture, I can't say it does it brilliantly. But

43:31

Lily Gasson herself is of that, of that

43:34

culture, I'm trying

43:36

to find the right words. But like, from

43:39

what I've read, a lot of people think it does it. Well,

43:42

obviously, there's a lot of people like this isn't

43:44

a white person's story to tell, which is what Scorsese.

43:46

The interesting thing I was thinking there is, is

43:49

it is it a story where he's telling

43:51

the horrors of the white perspective

43:53

from that? Oh, it's definitely this week. I

43:56

think so. Yeah, this is definitely this is

43:58

the story of America in a nutshell. We

44:00

like what people come to America and I've and

44:02

I've basically Taken from this land

44:05

for years like that is what the story is

44:07

and like in a nutshell That is what

44:09

this story is telling and the way this

44:11

film ends is really interesting as well I don't

44:13

want to spoil it But like sort of

44:15

lazy like kind of literally takes the reins of it

44:18

at one point and the way it does It's like coder at

44:20

the end to explain like what happened to these people

44:22

is really interesting Then the music

44:25

is all brilliant Like I said, I just

44:27

I just I really want to see this film

44:29

again and despite it being three and a half hours of

44:31

quite Like you said serious downbeat

44:34

stuff There is still the occasional laugh

44:36

like they kind of play Leonardo

44:38

DiCaprio who is also brilliant in this film like

44:40

his character for laughs It points just through

44:42

his like denseness. He's not a smart man or

44:44

like people will just say stuff You'll

44:47

be like like I think it's in the trailer. There's

44:49

one clip where Jesse Plummer's just comes to his door and he's

44:51

like I'm from the FBI

44:53

looking to talk about the See

44:56

about these murders and then they're not captures

44:58

goes I'll see what about them and just

45:01

I was just stares in for a second. It says sees doing

45:03

them It's

45:06

there are like little funny moments like that that break the

45:08

tension There's also some very hard stuff

45:11

to watch So yeah, this is I think this

45:13

isn't 18 if it's not it should be actually might

45:15

just be a 15 There's like, you know

45:17

some some pretty horrible. Do you have a

45:19

view of it at 8 15 tonight?

45:21

No, I might well You'll be out at midnight.

45:23

Yeah It's

45:27

yeah, I can't recommend this film enough So

45:30

yeah killers of the flower moon worth

45:32

the waiting. I've been waiting a long time for this one Like he's

45:34

been trying to make this for almost a decade. I think oh

45:37

wow. Yeah, very good

45:39

film Go see that my favorite

45:41

film of the year On

45:43

the other end sound lovely site for light

45:45

fall. I've played a couple hours of just sont I

45:48

don't know if either of you have touched this yet, but yeah

45:50

came to game pass this week I think it's out and everything

45:52

but I played on game pass I think I'm

45:55

only half like the same earlier Matt. I'm about

45:57

halfway through it's only a four to five hour game I think

46:00

If you don't know what juice on tis and that's spelled J

46:02

u s a Nt I'm

46:04

saying it like that cuz it sounds French. Well, it's

46:07

developed by don't know And

46:09

just on actually means I look they this

46:12

is the first thing you see in the game it is

46:14

a word like an old like mariners

46:17

word for the Movement

46:19

of the tide going out. Okay. Okay.

46:21

So there you go. So this game respects the sea.

46:23

That's always a good Always a good

46:26

stance having a game. It is just kind

46:28

of a wordless Climbing

46:30

game and it's beautiful. The outside of this game

46:32

is just very pleasant like bright oranges

46:35

and blues everywhere kind

46:38

of has the Kind of essence

46:40

of like an old team eco

46:42

game It's kind of got a bit of an eco show across

46:45

as you know Like wordless sort of like adventure

46:47

no combat well as

46:49

far as I know there's not all I haven't encountered

46:51

any yet But you're kind of just trying to scale

46:53

up this one tall mountains It's got kind

46:56

of a bit of journey to it as well I suppose and

46:58

you're just trying to scale this mountain you slowly get

47:00

like new abilities where for like at the

47:02

start You're just like using each trigger

47:05

to grab hand holds and climb this mountain Then

47:07

you'll like get new abilities where you can let

47:09

you were saying with avatar earlier It's quite similar like

47:12

you can command a like basically command

47:14

a plant to then like move its vines up

47:16

Then you can like grab holding it will take you up the

47:18

fun girl like that Yeah, there's a little

47:20

bit of grow home to it as well Like it's

47:23

not overly complex I've you have to kind of

47:25

manage stamina and trying to like work

47:27

like this minor puzzle solving elements You have to work

47:29

the best route up Sometimes there's more than one

47:31

way to try and get to the next hand holds

47:33

and rest for stamina I mean

47:36

you two hours in I'm having a lovely time. There's not too

47:38

much more to say about there's a very loose story like

47:40

it's not really you're obviously trying this and

47:44

Don't fit some sort of like Theological

47:46

message it's trying to say some sort of religious thing if

47:48

against the top of the smelling It's just

47:51

very nice if you want four or five hours puzzling

47:53

up a mountain I would say

47:55

like the inherent danger of like climbing

47:58

a mountain by then making it peaceful

48:00

and just lovely is sort of why I wanted out of Death

48:02

Stranding which obviously is not what I'm gonna get The

48:06

trailer for Jusan when I saw it because that was part of the

48:09

Summer Games Fest was it? Yeah Initially

48:14

gave to me vertical Death Stranding

48:17

obviously not any of the mad kajima nonsense

48:19

or anything like that, but the actual

48:22

process of Learning

48:24

to actually Yeah,

48:28

yeah, it's nowhere near as to that. There's no like man

48:31

resource management anything like that

48:38

It's very

48:40

if you just want a nice chill time I think Jusan

48:43

is a nice Thing to be getting on game paths

48:45

at the moment is there any dialogue in the game or is it just near

48:47

enough entirely? I think it's wordless. I see

48:49

there's like letters you can read so they read

48:51

and you can do to learn a bit more about This civilization

48:54

I think It's

48:57

lovely I've been just been it's nice little end

48:59

of the day chill out game for like an hour do like a

49:01

little section Yeah,

49:04

I'm enjoying that very

50:57

you know what else I enjoy very much? The endless search and I don't care if no one

50:59

else does because we're doing one.

51:03

A couple of weeks ago, we did an endless search from Lee Burton

51:05

and he also sent in an endless search theme that we never

51:07

played. Well, this week we're gonna play it. He

51:10

says on the topic of the endless search theme, I

51:12

personally really enjoy the current theme, but I thought

51:14

I'd have a go at making one because why not? It's my

51:16

first attempt at making music digitally. So

51:20

take a listen and see what you think.

51:23

And see what you think. Thanks Lee.

51:26

We'll listen to it now and we'll let you know what you think.

51:31

Endless search.

51:34

Where damn game's at? I

51:36

don't know.

51:39

I'm in. Endless

51:43

search. They're

51:46

still searching. Endless

51:50

search. Jesse,

51:52

it's a funky tune. It's almost got a little bit of Robocop

51:55

energy. Yeah, yeah. I felt that. Took

51:57

me back to those days, you know.

51:59

you back to the days you never lived in. Yeah,

52:02

exactly.

52:05

The end of search. I don't have much

52:07

time to think of one this week. So I'm just gonna do a very

52:09

simple game. I've got three down

52:11

here, we'll see how long the first one takes to do. We

52:14

might just do one of these. It's a simple

52:16

game of it's gonna be, who am I, it's

52:18

gonna be a 20 questions. I'm

52:20

a video game character. And you guys

52:22

take turns asking yes or no questions. And

52:24

the first of you to guess which character I am

52:27

wins the game. It's

52:30

very simple game. You just ask yes or

52:32

the questions I can answer yes or no to and I

52:34

am any video game

52:37

character. Like I said, I've got three names down

52:39

here. We'll see how long one takes though. So I've just

52:41

gone for ages. So

52:44

yeah, I suppose who wants to go

52:46

first? Who's feeling honorable? What's

52:49

on I got to do with it? I don't know. Who's

52:52

anyone feeling kind? I'll go with it. Oh,

52:54

that's a that's that's

52:57

the opposite of honor. You're just taking control.

52:59

No, I'm sorry. Well, just

53:01

ask me a yes or no question someone.

53:04

Has anyone portrayed? Oh, I know. Fuck.

53:08

Wait, is there a live adaptation

53:10

of this character? Yes.

53:13

Oh, okay. Interesting.

53:16

Whoa, what a left field question.

53:19

Are you looking at my doc? No. I

53:23

did say doc. Is your character

53:26

a PlayStation exclusive?

53:28

No. Interesting.

53:31

Has your character ever been

53:33

released on a Sega console?

53:37

No. Okay. No.

53:39

Okay. Okay. Is your character a woman?

53:42

No.

53:52

Does the character reside

53:54

in America? Yes.

53:59

That's

54:02

five questions you are so I feel

54:04

like I can go for it.

54:06

Is

54:11

your character portrayed

54:15

in the video games in third person? Yes.

54:20

You can take a guess. Can

54:23

I take a guess? You can. That's

54:25

your term for a question. Is your character Alan

54:27

Wake? No. There's

54:30

not been a TV adaptation at all. I meant

54:32

in more like a live action. Technically

54:34

there is a live. Yeah, that's what I was going for. Is it an adaptation

54:36

though? Yeah. Shit. That's

54:41

seven questions. Is

54:46

your adaptation a movie? Yes.

54:50

Okay. The

54:54

third person game that has a man in

54:56

it that's not an exclusive. So

55:00

it's on potentially all

55:02

platforms or maybe exclusive something

55:05

else.

55:08

Fuck. That's eight questions. You've got

55:10

to have plenty of time.

55:11

Does your character have a brother? I

55:16

don't know. I mean it's not

55:18

an obvious. Not

55:22

that I know of. All right. That's

55:27

nine questions. Shit.

55:32

Um. Hmm.

55:39

It's made

55:41

you just got to work out what the game is. Yeah. Is

55:46

your character from a game that's post?

55:54

No.

55:56

Right. Okay. That's ten questions.

55:59

Half of your questions.

56:03

Does your character have

56:06

special powers? I'm

56:09

going

56:12

to say no. So they're not doodle-

56:15

They're not natural basically. No, they're not, no,

56:17

they're not. They're naturally skilled

56:19

you'll say. Yeah, they're not, they're not,

56:21

you know, yeah. Accessing a

56:23

part of the superhero.

56:26

I'm not sure if they're real delis or anything. I

56:28

was like, lovely

56:29

questions. Jeez.

56:31

Some people would be screaming right now. Will

56:34

they? Listen to that, listen to that. Um,

56:40

I'm not worried, I thought Jesse had got it really early, if this

56:42

is good. Sorry, go on.

56:47

Not just because he was confident, not through any- Yeah.

56:50

Okay, that's not it. Is

56:53

his character Chris Redfield? No.

56:57

See, you're just going to keep guessing

56:59

people, that's- You've still got 8

57:01

questions, that's 12 questions. Is your character skilled

57:04

in climbing? No,

57:08

I'd say no. It's not 8 questions.

57:11

You'd list that under there, list those skills. This

57:13

is bullshit. It's going to kill me. How many times have

57:15

you tried to work out if it's Nathan Drake? You

57:18

can't now. I

57:20

know, I know. Oh fuck. This

57:24

is your question now, isn't it, Jesse? No,

57:27

he just asked about climbing. Oh, of course, yeah.

57:30

Is his character from a horror

57:32

series? No,

57:35

no. Six

57:37

more questions.

57:39

Ahh. Maybe

57:43

we just do one of these.

57:46

Has your character killed people? Yes.

57:50

That doesn't help, Jesse. No,

57:52

but I'm trying to think of what video

57:54

game adaptation is there where someone is just

57:57

a brute or killer. And not just

57:59

like a fool. But you kill people all

58:01

the time in video games and that's not considered

58:03

you don't look considered like I

58:06

love this one. She need to work together Five

58:10

or Pre 2014

58:17

it's

58:20

not so it's not gonna be like resi or anything

58:22

like that This

58:28

is really killing me inside What

58:35

else could you learn about the game I wonder why

58:37

else could we know is this

58:39

game No,

58:45

I'm just trying to figure out like certain questions

58:47

I've already asked kind of in form of the things

58:50

like that is the third person Probably

58:52

means that it's like an action adventure game, particularly

58:55

if it's pre 2014. Oh my god Does

58:59

Jess you think you do you think you've got it Jesse?

59:01

I'm just trying to remember your previous answers

59:03

and

59:05

Oh, okay,

59:07

I have one question I think could help me I

59:11

Just don't think you were choose. It's not your turn. I know

59:14

I Really

59:19

this character from contemporary

59:23

times Yes,

59:26

right, okay for more questions

59:29

is this character in New York Yes,

59:32

am I not to guess who it is? No I Still

59:40

be the guy I'm thinking of So

59:44

bothering me, but it's weird that you'd

59:46

say it wouldn't be someone I'd pick I'm

59:49

trying to think of like all the games that say

59:51

in New York now, and it's just I hate Endly

59:55

searches bullshit. I never think of

59:57

any bit. Yeah, it's gonna. I'm gonna

59:59

be so sure shocked as it is it Fuck

1:00:07

what's he called got a question then like basically

1:00:09

off this you've got one more guess each I can ask

1:00:11

what can get one more clue and then you got a judge

1:00:13

basically He's gonna get it

1:00:15

if I'm gonna ask the question anyway, does he

1:00:17

have an annoying cousin? No

1:00:22

Well, not like not again. Not like I know

1:00:24

of is it max pain. It is I

1:00:26

can gain Fucking off that

1:00:28

was killing me when you said Alan Wake

1:00:31

I was like, oh my god, you just fit the wrong one

1:00:36

Like was it 2010 film what about 20

1:00:39

egg? Yeah 2008 Why

1:00:41

would you think I wouldn't pick max pain? It's

1:00:43

one of my favorite characters. No, like

1:00:45

I it was I was just

1:00:48

trying to think For

1:00:51

more on me on max pain this is to the back page podcast

1:00:54

from last week I was playing.

1:00:56

I'm sorry everyone because I learn about my

1:01:00

life so far Which

1:01:02

I spent far too long talking about I'm

1:01:04

gonna refuse to believe that anyone who was listening

1:01:07

would have guessed fucking max

1:01:09

pain. I think people will have I Don't

1:01:13

know it's a max pain film largely

1:01:16

because that film is so bad that I probably

1:01:18

Yeah, you would want to forget about it. Um,

1:01:20

she's do one. Oh, is that too long enough didn't it? But

1:01:23

I've got a couple of names for another day when we

1:01:25

need them. I'm good for the next one though But

1:01:27

I know it took away too long Another

1:01:30

day now if you got it within 10, you

1:01:33

know, maybe I would have gone for it. But sadly Yeah,

1:01:36

Jesse technically wins the game, but I think you both lost

1:01:38

really for honest Yeah,

1:01:44

exactly I've been on the school UK

1:01:47

feedback at igen calm right about anything

1:01:49

you want to tell us about just last night I

1:01:51

want to hear it And

1:01:53

the search things were always welcome to more of those. Um,

1:01:56

Jesse, you've got the first piece of feedback this week Yeah,

1:01:58

this is from Josh warden He says, Bonjour,

1:02:01

IGN UK crew, usual stuff, long time

1:02:03

listener, first time writer etc. And I require

1:02:05

your help. I find myself in the

1:02:07

cozy position of no more work related exams

1:02:10

until 2024, meaning my gaming

1:02:12

life has resurrected for now. After

1:02:15

a mix of studying and 150 hours of starfield,

1:02:18

I'm now ready to step into something else full time. My

1:02:21

inquisitive brain can't help but gravitate

1:02:23

towards Baldur's Gate, however I've never been

1:02:25

a D&D guy or a turn based guy for

1:02:27

that matter. I'm an RPG and

1:02:29

fantasy junkie but as I approach the ripe age

1:02:32

of 30 I'm becoming more tired and desire

1:02:34

a simpler experience, currently playing through

1:02:36

Mirage which is excellent.

1:02:39

My question therefore is will I like Baldur's

1:02:41

Gate 3, big Bethesda fan, middle earth,

1:02:43

merchant etc. So this seems up for my

1:02:45

alley but I can't decide and I need your help. Admire

1:02:48

the wave, big daddy waltz.

1:02:50

Three kisses. My incident reaction

1:02:53

would be yes I would play

1:02:55

it ages because it's one of the best games I've ever played

1:02:57

in my life. See I'm not a D&D

1:02:59

person at all. I

1:03:01

like to ask myself I'm a big

1:03:03

Bethesda fan and middle earth person

1:03:06

but yeah I'm not. And

1:03:08

you say like RPGs so I would be the best

1:03:10

RPG ever made so I would say if

1:03:13

you're willing to sink 150 hours in starfield

1:03:16

which I don't think is great but if you enjoyed it fair play

1:03:18

to you, you could easily sink 150 hours into

1:03:20

this game and I would almost guarantee

1:03:23

have a better time. Yeah I mean I think I've mentioned

1:03:25

this when we discussed Baldur's Gate 3 but

1:03:27

never gave a shit about D&D, never

1:03:29

really cared ever about turn based games

1:03:32

and Baldur's Gate is just a wonderful,

1:03:35

lovely experience especially if you can play with

1:03:37

a mate or a partner. If not though if you're just playing

1:03:39

it solo just slap it on easy and have a lovely time. And I

1:03:41

wouldn't also see this

1:03:44

as strictly turn based either like it's not just

1:03:46

like you attack I attack it's kind of

1:03:49

you just enter out of the environment and your

1:03:51

enemies in such a different way to most just

1:03:53

you know it's not persona or Pokemon you know it's like

1:03:55

attacking using items is so much more

1:03:58

than that. The other thing I'd really emphasise. with

1:04:00

this is that yes

1:04:03

the combat systems are there.

1:04:05

I never think of Baldur's

1:04:07

Gate as strictly a combat game. It's not like...

1:04:09

one of the problems that I did

1:04:11

have like moving from I finished

1:04:14

Baldur's Gate and went straight into Starfield basically

1:04:16

and I massively bounced off Starfield but

1:04:18

a part of what I couldn't get over is going back

1:04:21

to this traditional computer

1:04:24

game RPG format in that when

1:04:26

you go into a dungeon it's just full of enemies

1:04:28

that you just have to like either slash or shoot

1:04:30

through. Combat in Baldur's Gate is

1:04:33

so purposeful. Like you get a combat

1:04:35

encounter when the story calls for combat

1:04:38

and so quite a lot of what you're doing

1:04:41

is actual RPG stuff where you're

1:04:43

going around and talking to people and investigating

1:04:45

places exploring things digging

1:04:48

up weird old relics and making

1:04:51

really big chance decisions on whether

1:04:53

like do I open this book and

1:04:56

potentially doom a planet or whatever.

1:04:59

It's all that sort of genuine RPG

1:05:01

stuff which I think kind of like a lot of

1:05:03

games have in

1:05:06

RPG circles have shifted more being

1:05:08

into action games and I think to go back to

1:05:10

something that is a proper RPG where

1:05:12

you only get combat where it's supposed to be is

1:05:15

really cool and it means that you're not going to be bogged

1:05:18

down. If you're not massively into turn-based

1:05:20

combat it's not like that is the

1:05:22

core part of this experience. Yeah

1:05:25

I would say give it a go it's easy for

1:05:27

me to say because I adore it but you

1:05:29

know I can't say I'm sure there's

1:05:32

people a lot of people that have bounced off of it. Oh yeah almost

1:05:34

certainly. I would say just from your interest

1:05:36

to that I would I'd give it a go so there

1:05:39

we go.

1:05:39

Matt

1:05:41

hello we got this one's from James Clark

1:05:43

he says hi guys just piling in

1:05:45

on a couple of your ongoing chats in the feedback if

1:05:47

that's okay of course it's okay. Rewind

1:05:50

back to summer 2020 and I'm playing

1:05:52

the game I've been waiting years for The Last of Us 2

1:05:55

the first game being my favorite ever until the

1:05:57

sequel came along. Not only that but Covid

1:06:00

is in full flow, my wife is

1:06:02

not only a pediatric intensive care nurse,

1:06:05

but also four months pregnant, cue

1:06:07

me being a balling mess through most

1:06:09

of the first and last act of this game. Flash

1:06:12

forward to Valentine's Day 21 and we

1:06:15

welcome our first beautiful child, Ellie,

1:06:18

into our family. It helps

1:06:20

when it's a pretty popular name, but sometimes it's okay

1:06:22

to name your kids after your favourite characters. I

1:06:24

agree, because Ellie's just a very nice... Yeah, you're not going

1:06:27

to name him what... I think it's more, you know, yeah. Exactly,

1:06:29

it's not, you know, yeah, it's not, I don't know... I

1:06:33

wouldn't necessarily call my son like Halcyn

1:06:36

or... Yeah. Or Bloodstar of Beast.

1:06:39

Yeah, or something like that. However,

1:06:41

hashtag just as for Joel. Not entirely

1:06:43

sure, right? I think Joel

1:06:45

maybe got what he was asking for. With

1:06:49

respect to all of the cheats available

1:06:51

in games, I don't think anything comes close

1:06:54

to typing. How do you turn this on

1:06:57

into the text chat window on Age

1:06:59

of Empires 2? The feeling of countering those

1:07:01

pesky Brit longbows with a fully stacked

1:07:04

Shelby Copra sports car with minigun

1:07:06

attachment that flies around the map faster

1:07:08

than a camel on heat is second to none. Thanks

1:07:11

for all the great work as always, guys. Respect to the

1:07:13

sea and, as always, and

1:07:15

I have to say, I miss the original endless search

1:07:18

theme, bring it back. Oh. I

1:07:21

would say I didn't realise that as a cheat you could do in

1:07:23

Age of Empires 2, but that was a huge

1:07:25

amount of time. I never played a huge

1:07:28

amount of Age of Empires 2. It was something that I saw

1:07:30

my friends playing. I didn't remember the

1:07:32

Shelby Copra. I do remember that you could

1:07:34

summon in Stormtroopers with laser guns.

1:07:36

That's sick. On Star Wars, I think one of my favourites.

1:07:39

It's not even a cheat, it's just how you activate cheats, but

1:07:41

putting the console command in Jedi

1:07:43

Academy and stuff just helps us Obi-Wan. There

1:07:46

is no boot. Oh no, it's helped us Obi-Wan. That's what

1:07:48

I remember. What's that one for? That's

1:07:50

the Jedi Knight. No,

1:07:52

but what does it do? What does the... It allows

1:07:54

you to activate the cheats, you put that in,

1:07:57

and then it enables cheats. My main

1:07:59

memory. of that was

1:08:02

there is no spoon I think made the slow motion

1:08:04

stuff but there was also saber realistic

1:08:06

combat with the one with the loading and cut people's

1:08:09

limbs off. The other one I

1:08:11

remember of course is is it Rosebud in

1:08:13

The Sims gives you like a million

1:08:15

similions cash. Yeah you have

1:08:18

to get the gnome first I think. Yeah. Yeah.

1:08:20

That weird little gnome. Never feel guilty

1:08:22

for using cheats in The Sims, just feels right. Yeah

1:08:25

exactly like I said last week, it's all about building the

1:08:27

house. I don't care about playing the game, I just want to build a house.

1:08:29

Yeah. Yeah I didn't listen to last week's podcast

1:08:31

but I saw the email that was about cheat

1:08:34

codes wasn't it and why they're... I feel like

1:08:36

people's favourite cheat codes and why they don't exist

1:08:38

anymore. Yeah. I guess originally cheat

1:08:40

codes were developer codes weren't they just to help

1:08:42

them like bounce their way through a dev build

1:08:44

and then they just kind of stay in there but I'm

1:08:48

surprised that there's not more developers because obviously Rockstar

1:08:50

builds cheats into the game.

1:08:52

Yeah. Was it GTA 5 and 4

1:08:55

I think maybe where you dial them into the into

1:08:58

the phone. Yeah. I'm surprised

1:09:01

more games don't have something that's a bit like that.

1:09:04

I miss, this is gonna sound very odd, but I miss

1:09:06

the smell and texture. I think

1:09:09

it was called

1:09:11

Cheats Unlimited and it was sort of like this yellow

1:09:14

page cheat book for like the PlayStation 2

1:09:17

which I think... You miss the smell of this book. It

1:09:20

just had like... I can't remember what specific

1:09:22

type of paper it was. It was like just shitty cheap-ish

1:09:25

feeling paper and stuff and I just

1:09:27

I remember like it had like that really sort

1:09:29

of cringy like CG

1:09:31

babe on it. It was holding like an Uzi or something

1:09:34

and it was full of cheats. Oh god that's proper

1:09:36

early 2000s game media nonsense.

1:09:39

I probably came free with Maxim

1:09:41

or something. I mean all that too high

1:09:43

class. Just break it like OPM would have

1:09:46

had that for a shit. Yeah I did find a

1:09:48

picture of it. This is the exact book. There

1:09:51

you go. Great for the listener audience here, but if you

1:09:53

want to say it's cheap on limited. I

1:09:56

do actually remember this. Yeah. That's a lot

1:09:59

of cheap. Call as well.

1:10:01

I mean they say cheats on limit, but it

1:10:03

says over 20,000. So you would have thought you know,

1:10:05

it's unlimited You know over 20,000

1:10:07

is unlimited what pissed me off those those cheat

1:10:09

books would sometimes just have cheats That

1:10:11

just didn't work or they're they'll

1:10:13

things that they found on like the internet They just weren't

1:10:15

true and I'll just print it on that page forever I was

1:10:17

like boss just said it says compiled by

1:10:20

gaming experts. We need to find out who these people

1:10:22

were I want I really want to call

1:10:24

that number and see where that leads to now I

1:10:26

don't even know what light region is an o 9

1:10:29

o 6 7 just a business number here. Is it?

1:10:32

I thought I I mean it's a lot.

1:10:35

I can't have last time I just put in a phone number

1:10:37

into a phone to be honest, but there we

1:10:39

go I've got always

1:10:42

let us know any more cheats. You remember I gen

1:10:44

on school UK feedback out ign.com I've

1:10:47

got one more email here from Kyle will cat

1:10:49

who says hi all I was doing my weekly

1:10:52

shopping calls this weekend When I came

1:10:54

across what I think is an odd seasonal

1:10:56

food It was a vampire crumpet

1:10:59

a square crumpet with round with

1:11:02

round top That looks like it had a rough

1:11:04

face toasted on it. It was one

1:11:06

of the oddest seasonal foods I've ever seen

1:11:09

what odd seasonal foods have you seen? Kyle

1:11:12

what's holding any? What

1:11:14

is cold? That's a good is this a this is an

1:11:16

Apollo Australian apparently Australian.

1:11:19

Okay I

1:11:21

Trying to think of any

1:11:24

any seasonal foods I

1:11:27

mean Christmas stuff is already starting to appear

1:11:30

in shops. It's awesome. I

1:11:32

mean the fucking Kings of our

1:11:34

life fucking Iceland with just any

1:11:36

sort of Literally anything

1:11:38

you'd be a waffle shaped as a fucking bat or some

1:11:41

bullshit or anything that we shake

1:11:43

into I have Yeah, I think as to

1:11:45

do a pizza shaped as a bat But

1:11:49

that just seems like you're getting less pizza, so I don't know why

1:11:51

I choose that yeah, yeah, I

1:11:53

don't get it like so if the thing always gets me

1:11:55

is like You know Easter or

1:11:57

Christmas wherever is and they have all these two chops

1:12:00

or the Christmas chocolate, then like the day

1:12:02

after Christmas, day after Easter, they're all half

1:12:04

price. It's like, it's still the same chocolate

1:12:06

and the same like weight. Like, why

1:12:08

is it all down to 20p? But it's shaped

1:12:11

like an egg. People aren't buying them

1:12:13

for because they're all bought as gifts, aren't they? But

1:12:15

still charge it the same amount as you would like a

1:12:17

hundred grand bar. Like to me, it makes

1:12:19

no economical sense. I would never complain

1:12:22

about getting that chocolate for cheaper than mine. I'm not going

1:12:24

to buy that by now. I'm just like, why do the shops just like cave

1:12:26

in so quickly? It's like a minute past midnight

1:12:28

after Easter. Like, right. Everything's

1:12:29

20p. I mean, my local big Iceland

1:12:32

closed down a few months ago, so I don't even get to see that.

1:12:34

How are you coping with that? Are

1:12:37

you crying the other day? We've turned into a little people

1:12:39

now. So it's not bad. Not

1:12:41

bad. Decent transition. I don't have a, do

1:12:43

I have a little near me? Is it a lot of people

1:12:46

say the little bakery? Little bakery. Is

1:12:48

it good? There's slaps. There is a larger

1:12:50

what's your favorite item from the little bakery? Um,

1:12:53

I mean, they do really good. They do really good.

1:12:55

Like, uh, what's it like? Like pink icing,

1:12:58

donut and stuff. Their brownies are really good. So

1:13:00

their pretzels, they have a large selection of bread. They've

1:13:02

got, oh my God, some sort of like just

1:13:05

nice olive kind of sourdough thing. They do

1:13:07

a slaps. Well, I'll go well with a Matt

1:13:09

suit. So I, I shop at Tesco

1:13:12

and they do have a good like olive, uh,

1:13:15

sourdough, which is good with soup. There

1:13:17

we go. Let us know what your favorite sourdough

1:13:20

is or favorite items. What's your favorite bakery

1:13:23

or favorite bread? In fact, obviously sour.

1:13:25

Oh, I get sourdough because it doesn't seem to

1:13:28

like go moldy as quick as other

1:13:30

breads, but there are a bunch of other good breads. I

1:13:33

can only ever do, I owe you enough a sourdough toast

1:13:35

it though. I never just like make a sourdough

1:13:37

sandwich. Like I would, I

1:13:40

like it. It's the only bread I like now. It's

1:13:43

the only bread I love brioche. I know it's sweet,

1:13:45

but I do love a brioche. You wouldn't, you wouldn't

1:13:47

have it for savory purposes though. Would you? I

1:13:49

guess you do. I would, I would. Yeah, you'd

1:13:51

have a burger or actually Shana

1:13:54

bread is pretty top tier.

1:13:55

That's okay.

1:13:57

There we go. Uh, bread chat. of

1:14:00

that next week. What

1:14:02

music do we want? The

1:14:04

Robocop theme? Why not? A

1:14:06

bit of Robocop? Why not? Let's do that. Have

1:14:09

a lovely weekend and we'll see you soon.
