My guest today is an environmental activist, a writer, a yoga instructor, and a lover of life, the plastic free mermaid, Kate Nelson. Since falling deeply in love with the ocean and the beautiful creatures which call it home, Kate has been on the endeavour to reduce the plastic footprint of the world, starting with her own life, and is now spreading her message through education. Kate co-founded a non-for-profit called ‘Save the mermaids’ and helped ban the plastic bag in Santa Barbara. She has since moved to Australia, lobbying politicians, spreading awareness and is living a plastic free life, detailing her adventure on her website www.iquitplastics.com.

We talk about Kates journey to living a plastic free life, how she fell in love with the ocean and dedicated her life to protecting it, her trip to the ‘great pacific garbage patch’, how yoga has helped her connect with herself and nature, the role hope can play in the transformation of this world and much more so stay tuned and get ready for an amazing story from one of the most inspirational people I know.
