In this episode, we sit down and do some processing about what the past 100 episodes have taught us, and what larger narrative has come out of these conversations we have been having with millennials from across the country during this pandemic.

Broadly, Isabel has definitely become more radical over the course of this show, and she talks about how the conversations we have had here have informed that, from our conversation with Yolanda about decolonizing parenting, to our talk about defunding the police, all the way through our more recent conversations on the Israeli occupation of Palestine with Sean.

Both of us have been thinking about incremental change and whether reforming institutions is more stable in the long run than trying to dismantle them, and whether or not we need to have allies on board in the fight to bring about this kind of systemic change. We also discuss how privilege plays a role in how cynical or apathetic you allow yourself to be in the face of these monumental systemic odds, and how in spite of that, you need to use your logical left brain to trick your emotional right brain into thinking there is still hope, because that in and of itself will be a self-fulfilling prophecy.
