What is Recovery?
Recovery is getting back something you have lost. It is getting back to a healthy and happy lifestyle, even if you
don’t remember ever having one. All of us found that we had habits, hang-ups and behaviors that were hurting
us and standing in the way of our happiness. Too often in this world full of pain we choose relief (alcohol,
drugs, sex, shopping, TV, etc) over restoration, and it’s a fruitless journey over the long haul.
What is Celebrate Recovery?
Celebrate Recovery is a biblical and balanced program that helps us overcome our hurts, hang-ups, and habits.
We all have hurts and if we don’t walk through them authentically with Jesus, we can get hung-up and pursue
destructive habits. Celebrate Recovery is a safe place to work through them. This Jesus-centered 12 step
program is open to anyone looking for freedom.
Why am I talking about this?
Because I see people getting healed right and left in the Church of the 12 Steps. Whether it be CR or any other
12 step community that loves the hurting, practices safe, confidential fellowship and sharing their stories of
struggle or victory. Honestly, for these groups that allow God His place at the table, I think its what He would
want His Church to look like.
Where can I find a CR? There are 4 locations around Tallahassee. Dinners are always optional and may
involve a small fee.
