The end-of-year SHOW + EXPO of the Fashion Department of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp is Belgium’s biggest fashion happening of the year, with both industry and insiders and the general public donning their finest clothes to attend, have a good time, and support their considerable fashion talent. Antwerp has a history of producing some of the world’s finest fashion creatives, from Martin Margiela to Dries van Noten to Raf Simons. In the excitement of the days leading up to the event, Danielle speaks to a few people involved, including Kaat Debo, the director of MoMu, the fashion museum in Antwerp; the journalist and creative consultant Simon Chilvers, who was part of the jury; and Brandon Wen, the director of the academy; as well as some of the students taking part.
