In this special episode - the third part of a COVID mini-series after episodes with Dr Lindsay Broadbent and Diane Thompson - I speak with respiratory physiotherapist Jenny Finney.
Jenny - in her own brilliant way - takes us through what it has been like on the hospital wards fighting COVID-19 for the last 12 months for her and her colleagues, outlining moments she thought she would never see with a third surge and the tragic circumstances of some patients in the care of the hospital during that time.
At a time when we're hearing of roadmaps and a long-awaited and eagerly anticipated route out of lockdowns and the pain and angst of the last 12 months, Jenny covers in the episode the reasons why we shouldn't suddenly become complacent and need to remain vigilant in the fight against this virus. I was blown away listening to Jenny speak through these points and doing so, so eloquently.
Enjoy the episode - and if it does hit you like it did me both recording and listening back - share this amongst your family, friends, colleagues and so on. The message within it is too important not to share - at a time when many could, through no fault of their own, assume that we are through this.
