Women and construction are not two words that typically go together in the same sentence, but they certainly should. Patricia Haywood has spent the majority of her life in construction as a member of a family of entrepreneurs building businesses within the industry.
She has now created her own company and is inspiring women to be unapologetically themselves, even in male-dominated fields.
After pursuing her law degree and practicing as an attorney, another male-dominated field, she found herself back in the field of construction as general counsel and consultant. She has worked on some of the largest construction projects and she is well-versed in the challenges women face in the field.
This is part one of a three part series. We cover a lot of ground in part one discussing her post-high school education, the first company she started, and why she is so passionate about helping women to thrive in male-dominated fields.
