Dr. Kimberly Kather Phillips-Fein is a historian who specializes in 20th-century American politics and political economy. Currently, she is Professor of History at Columbia University.Previously, Phillips-Fein was a professor at the College of Arts and Science at New York University. In addition to academic papers, Phillips-Fein work has appeared in the Nation, the Atlantic, the Journal of American History, and the Baffler. Her first book, "Invisible Hands: The Businessmen’s Crusade Against the New Deal," was published in 2009. Her second book, "Fear City: New York’s Fiscal Crisis and the Rise of Austerity Politics," in 2018.
