0:36
Happy March. Hope you guys are having a
0:38
good start to spring and March. And yeah,
0:42
thank you guys for being here. Thank
0:44
you for sending in your listener stories
0:46
before we get into it. If you
0:49
have a listener story that you want
0:51
to send in, you can do so
0:53
either by going to our website inhumanpodcast.com,
0:56
or you can send us an email
0:58
at [email protected] and just put like
1:00
listener stories in the subject so we know to check
1:04
it out for our next listener stories
1:06
episode. Yeah. And
1:09
we're still making like, we have tons. I
1:11
don't, I just like randomly pick them when
1:13
I pick them. So we're still making our
1:15
way through. So if you haven't heard yours
1:17
yet, and you've sent one in, don't be
1:20
discouraged or upset. Like we are
1:22
still working through them. So yeah,
1:24
we're gonna keep doing these listener
1:26
stories. So you
1:28
know, well, like Andrea said, like don't, don't
1:31
be discouraged if you haven't heard yours yet, because it
1:33
might be coming. Alright, so
1:35
let's just get into this week's
1:38
listener stories or this month's listener stories.
1:42
Our first story is from Valentina.
1:44
Hi, Valentina. Also, I love your
1:46
name. That is such a gorgeous
1:48
name. Pretty. I know. All right.
1:53
Hey, I love your guys style and the fact
1:55
that you are so empathetic and tell people's stories
1:57
to get them the justice they deserve. know
2:00
your audio isn't as bad as you say it is
2:02
it sounds great to me. Well thank
2:04
you. I mean if you listen to some
2:07
of our earlier episodes maybe it wasn't so
2:09
great but yeah now we
2:11
we have mics we have like proper
2:13
setups and stuff but we're in a
2:15
better groove. Yeah a
2:19
little backstory but I grew up
2:21
in a somewhat typical Colombian household.
2:23
We're very superstitious. One example
2:25
is that we think that the soul of
2:27
a dead person can roam the earth for
2:29
three months but mainly to visit a relative
2:31
to say goodbye one last time. My
2:34
older sister is very convinced that spirits
2:36
are everywhere both good and bad. Some
2:39
of us in the family have even
2:41
had sleep paralysis with a sleep paralysis
2:43
demon. Oh my
2:45
god sleep paralysis terrifies
2:47
me. Same same. Just
2:50
anytime I hear stories about sleep paralysis I'm
2:52
like now I'm afraid it's gonna happen tonight.
2:54
I am too and
2:56
sometimes like I'll think I'm having it and then
2:59
I'll be like okay I
3:01
can get like all freaked out. Yeah
3:03
that's so scary. It
3:05
is terrifying. Okay
3:07
so some of us in my family
3:09
even have even had sleep paralysis with
3:11
a sleep paralysis demon or dreams with
3:13
what we think are the dead souls of
3:15
relative or both which would be me. So
3:18
you could say we might be a tiny
3:20
bit in touch with that side I guess.
3:22
Yeah I'd definitely say so. Which
3:25
I actually love that you're like in touch with
3:27
that side and it's kind of like part of
3:29
that culture that you're like you know they their
3:31
souls roam the earth for three months and you
3:33
can kind of be in touch with them and
3:36
they can like you embrace it. Yeah have whatever
3:38
closure they need and say proper goodbyes and all
3:40
that like I actually really love that. Yeah but
3:43
as a toddler my older sister used
3:45
to say I talked to Phil. I
3:48
was really convinced he was real but it
3:50
looked like I honestly was talking to nobody.
3:53
Fast forward to when I was about five years old I
3:55
woke up from a bad dream and happened to look in
3:57
the corner of my room to see a scrawny
4:00
bony creature that was being crushed by the
4:02
ceiling. The ceiling was like 9 or 10 feet
4:05
or something. It
4:08
was hiding its arms from me and
4:10
kept moving it in some sort of
4:12
nervous way. Its skin
4:15
was also pitch black and had
4:17
two tiny white eyes and no
4:19
mouth, just skin over it. Oh
4:23
my god. Its head
4:26
was disfigured in a way that
4:28
looked kind of like Slender Man
4:30
but with an extremely thin neck,
4:32
sharp chin, and jaw. Okay
4:35
I can like totally picture this thing. That
4:37
is so scary. Fast
4:40
forward to when I was 14, just two years
4:43
ago, when we moved from that house to
4:45
Texas. I was very anxious about moving
4:47
from my home in California and my sleep was
4:49
awful for the last two weeks I
4:51
lived there. One night I
4:53
had a dream with that same skinny
4:55
black tall creature where it was digging
4:57
up bodies in a cemetery and cutting
4:59
off the wrists of the bodies. Then
5:02
it turned to me and another figure that
5:04
was kind of built like the big bloated
5:06
morgho- morgho-
5:08
ghost from the third Conjuring
5:11
movie appeared. Oh my god.
5:14
I haven't seen that movie because like the Hose
5:16
movies actually freaked me out at the point where
5:18
I was like, I watched like the
5:20
first two and I was like no more. I'm
5:22
not welcoming this into my home. Goodbye. Not watching
5:24
any more of that shit. And
5:27
you guys know that I have not watched
5:29
those movies because- no thank you- but I
5:31
do know what that looks like because
5:33
I've seen like clips and stuff and- you
5:35
know- oh my god. The
5:39
giant ghost thing ran to me
5:41
and started scraping the skin off
5:43
my arms and hands. What?
5:47
After that I woke up and in the
5:50
same corner years before was the skinny black
5:52
thing except with its ribs now poking out
5:54
of its body. Its right arm had no
5:56
hand and instead flesh seemed to be ripped
5:59
off and. The left arm had a
6:01
sort of half car have hand looking thing.
6:05
As. Just for reference, when I'm nervous, I
6:07
play with my fingernails and hold my hand
6:10
and it started to mock me and do
6:12
the same thing with it's disfigured limbs and
6:14
after that it's started snapping the bones in
6:16
one hand it had in the one hand
6:18
it had making it more and more disfigured.
6:23
Why is this thing doing
6:25
is? Only. My un is
6:27
obviously taunting her for whatever reason.
6:32
Then I blew and it left. I'll
6:35
never know is that is it was the
6:37
spirit that lived in the house sale or
6:39
just my sleep paralysis. The men. Aboard.
6:41
The ladder? Yeah, I think it was
6:44
definitely a sleep paralysis. The man. That's.
6:47
Really scary and hopefully it didn't follow
6:49
you to Texas. Yeah,
6:51
dies terrify. All of that is
6:53
so like and seven. And yeah,
6:56
can I didn't really like of.
6:58
Horror. Movie yeah and you are really
7:00
good writer because I had like foley
7:02
pics or every single thing you were
7:04
saying but that also. Tells.
7:06
Me: how. Like. A Real and
7:09
terrifying this was you that you're able
7:11
to describe it in such detail because clearly
7:13
Like unified so clearly. Wow Valentina that it's
7:15
terrifying on. I hope you are okay
7:17
and I hope it did not follow You
7:20
Admit this doesn't happen again because I don't
7:22
know if I'd ever be able to
7:24
go to sleep again if I was. I
7:26
know if I was. You. One.
7:30
That happens Like people that. Suffer.
7:32
From sleep paralysis like they get a
7:34
flex they have a fear of going
7:36
to bed with I totally. I mean
7:38
I totally understand even I've never experienced
7:40
and up on the word guy I
7:43
was like him is not here No
7:45
I mean I would to like Eileen.
7:47
I am when I'm like nervous or anxious about
7:49
something I have dreams about. Fires could fire is
7:52
my biggest fear and so I ever. He doesn't
7:54
really happen as much anymore, but like when I
7:56
was a kid I would always have it like
7:58
the night before a new school. There or
8:00
like the night before a big day
8:02
or something and I would always be
8:04
scared to go to sleep because I
8:06
was like I normally do a lot.
8:08
I mean I am stop at nothing.
8:10
That's nothing compared to this. Ah yes
8:12
and. Wow.
8:15
Creepy. Very. Okay,
8:30
our next solicitor story. As such,
8:32
as many. Hey
8:34
ladies, I love the podcast. You
8:36
remind me so much at me and my work.
8:39
Best he saw. I love that. Have
8:41
a story that I would like to share.
8:44
It's not really true crime, not really paranormal.
8:46
And kind of a tear jerker. Oh,
8:49
are you have any issues and. It's
8:54
a big part of why I believe everything happens
8:56
for a reason. Be. On
8:58
April sixteenth, Twenty Twenty three
9:00
My dad passed away after
9:03
super short cancer cancer battle.
9:05
He was my hero and
9:07
lived for his grandkids. I'm
9:09
so sorry for your loss.
9:12
We were not even over the shock of
9:14
his passing out when on May fourth, twenty
9:16
twenty three I received a call that know
9:19
mother wants to hear. Mom.
9:21
I was in a car accident of. My
9:25
six year old daughter was on her
9:27
way to work and was less than two
9:30
miles from our house when a vehicle
9:32
coming at her hit a deer and
9:34
sent it airborne directly through her driver's
9:36
side windshield. Oh. My. God.
9:38
She took a direct hit to
9:40
the face by a pregnant female
9:43
deer. Oh. My.
9:45
God. Lake everything that
9:48
had to a line for that to
9:50
happen that it hit her right in
9:52
the days that is so and is
9:54
insane. Wow. Her
9:57
car continue down the road at road speed for.
10:00
75 feet and went into a ditch,
10:02
at which point it managed to find
10:04
the only opening in a row of
10:06
pine trees and continued 100 yards into
10:09
a field before stopping. Oh
10:11
my god. Luckily
10:13
my daughter was able to get out of
10:15
the car and was met immediately by a
10:17
good Samaritan that held her hands while another
10:19
passerby called 911. Wow.
10:23
The call I received was while my daughter was
10:25
in the ambulance on her way to a level
10:27
1 trauma facility. I was reassured
10:29
that she was fine, just a little banged up.
10:32
My mom drove me to the hospital
10:34
and upon arrival I was greeted by
10:36
a chaplain and a social worker. That
10:38
would be terrifying for me. Have a
10:40
chaplain meet me? Oh my gosh. I
10:42
would be like gutted. Yeah. They
10:45
explained to me that my daughter was on
10:47
a ventilator to protect her airway and in
10:49
a medically induced coma. Wow.
10:54
After about 2 hours I was able to finally
10:56
see her. I will never get that
10:58
image out of my head. Had
11:01
it not been for her long curly black hair
11:03
I would have thought I was in the wrong
11:05
room. She was unrecognizable.
11:07
Wow. She
11:11
was lucky and suffered no head, neck,
11:13
or brain trauma. She did however need
11:15
a full facial reconstruction to repair all
11:18
the damage she sustained.
11:21
She remained in a coma for 4 days. On
11:23
day 5 she woke up. She
11:27
explained where she was and why she
11:29
was there and after a few minutes
11:31
she looked at my mom and I
11:33
matter-of-factly and said, I saw Papa. After
11:38
the shock wore off of my mom and
11:41
I, my daughter explained that after the deer
11:43
hit her everything went white. She
11:45
heard a voice and looked over to the passenger
11:47
side of her vehicle where she saw
11:49
my dad holding the steering wheel.
11:52
That gave me full body chills.
11:54
Oh my gosh. He
11:57
told her you're going to be okay. When
12:00
her car stopped, he told her
12:02
she needed to get out and run towards the road
12:05
because she wouldn't be seen where her car stopped. I
12:09
fully believe my dad couldn't stay longer
12:13
here with us because he needed to keep her safe
12:15
and he couldn't do that here. We
12:18
took my daughter home after only 6 days in
12:21
the trauma unit. She is truly a badass.
12:26
Just 10 days after getting out of
12:28
the hospital, she attended her senior prom,
12:30
two black eyes, stitches and a hell
12:32
of a story. Wow, I love your
12:35
daughter. Good for her. Good
12:37
for her though. She really is a badass. Don't
12:39
miss out on those big things, girl. Oh yeah.
12:41
And like that's a, I mean, not a
12:43
great memory of how it happened, but I
12:46
love that she like went to prom and
12:48
in the future she'll be like, yeah, I
12:50
went to prom with two black eyes after
12:52
I was hit a deer in a major
12:54
car accident. Like I'm a badass. Wow. Yeah,
12:58
exactly. She
13:00
was on the mend and just had her
13:02
second and final facial surgery. Wow. That's
13:05
amazing. She will be
13:07
graduating in March of 2024, two months early. Wow.
13:14
She's a walking miracle that took a deer to the
13:16
face, had a 3% chance of ever leaving the
13:19
hospital, stayed for six days and
13:21
attended her prom just 10 days later. Wow.
13:25
That is amazing. She
13:27
is so freaking like
13:30
just the strength that that takes and
13:32
also shout out to you
13:35
for raising such a badass,
13:37
strong, determined daughter. Like that is
13:39
a testament to your parenting. Absolutely.
13:44
Keep up the awesome work. A forever
13:46
listener, Tiffany. Thank you so much
13:48
for sharing that story. First of all, that was
13:51
definitely a tearjerker and just a
13:54
remarkable story of survival
13:56
and perseverance and yeah, like
13:59
Haley said, you're Daughter is a bad ass
14:01
and that is a. Proves.
14:03
That what a. Good mom that you
14:05
are tail Yeah! And had you not
14:07
said on, she attended her senior prom
14:10
and with that I would have been
14:12
in forty years behind your dad being
14:14
there for her in, you know, you
14:17
guys believing like I needed to keep
14:19
her safe and that's why he couldn't
14:21
stay. I. Mean, I'm a
14:23
firm believer and like everything happens
14:25
for a reason and yeah, And
14:28
of oh wow. Okay, I'm knock
14:30
us anymore before I started sobbing of
14:33
Nasa Thank you so much for sharing
14:35
that sorry Tiffany! I absolutely love that.
14:37
I love that she had her grandpa
14:39
there to protect her. Yeah.
14:43
Ok Er next story is
14:45
from Tracy hi Tracey. Happy
14:49
New Year Ladies, Happy New Year! I think you
14:51
can still say Happy New Year like I mean
14:53
obviously. Hell yeah. I. Sent this story and like.
14:56
In January probably by and I think this
14:58
has a happy New year when you see
15:00
somebody that you haven't seen since. The
15:02
last year. So yeah, absolutely.
15:05
I really enjoy listening to your podcast. I have
15:07
a couple of ghost stories for you. The.
15:10
First one happened maybe seventeen years. Ago
15:12
or so my. Sister was down visiting with
15:14
my two nephews, the youngest in the process
15:16
of being potty trained so he was around
15:18
two. Or three years old. We
15:20
were all visiting. My. Mother in law
15:23
when both of my nephews needed to use
15:25
the bathroom at the same time. The.
15:27
Oldest use the upstairs wine and
15:29
my husband. Took the youngest to the bathroom
15:31
in the basement. There is no door,
15:33
only a shower curtain for privacy. My.
15:36
Nephew was still able to see the rest of the
15:38
basement while he was going party. He
15:40
looks up and asked my husband who the
15:42
police officer was standing in the other room.
15:46
My. Husband and nephew were the only
15:48
ones down there. The. House has
15:51
been a my husband family for several
15:53
generations. We. Believe my nephew was
15:55
seeing my husband's grandfather because of the
15:58
mention. Of the Uniform. his
16:00
grandfather at one time was a prison
16:03
guard. And like a
16:05
little toddler isn't gonna know the difference between like
16:07
a prison uniform, like prison guard uniform and a
16:09
police uniform. Right. Okay, also
16:11
that is so scary because we've talked about
16:13
this before, but like kids 100% can see
16:15
everything. And
16:18
so the fact that like he was just
16:21
sitting there and he was like, oh, who's
16:23
that police officer? I would have shit my
16:25
pants and sprinted up the stairs. Like that
16:27
is so scary. Grab the baby
16:29
and run. Yeah, literally. Oh
16:31
my God. Okay.
16:34
Oh, that's freaked me out. A
16:37
few years later at the same house, my husband
16:39
and I were locking things up one night, getting
16:41
ready to head home. His mother was in a
16:43
nursing home at the time. So we were just
16:45
there making sure all was in order. As
16:47
we were leaving, I realized I had left my purse on
16:49
the couch. My husband went
16:52
on out to the car and I ran
16:54
back in. No sooner than I
16:56
had the door open to the living room, I heard
16:58
a woman scream, help. I shot out
17:00
of the house as fast as I can, as
17:03
I could to see if my husband heard the scream. Surely
17:06
it was someone outside, right? Nope,
17:08
he didn't hear a thing. I never
17:10
went back in that house in the dark by
17:12
myself ever again. Somebody
17:14
was in the house shouting help, like, wait,
17:17
don't leave, like help me. Oh
17:19
my God. Yeah, trying to get you to
17:21
come down there to do something. I
17:23
would never go back in that house, period. Yeah,
17:26
I would just be like, RIP to
17:28
my purse. Yeah,
17:31
I'll get, I can replace everything there. I'll get another
17:33
one. I'll come back tomorrow when it's light out. Oh
17:36
my God. Thank
17:38
you for taking time to read my
17:40
stories. Keep up the awesome work, ladies.
17:42
Wow, thank you, Tracy. That's, whoo,
17:45
that's scary. All
17:49
right, our next story is from an
17:51
anonymous listener. Hi, Haley and
17:53
Andrea, I love your podcast. Thank
17:56
you. My friend
17:58
told me about it when we were discussing the watch.
18:00
your show on Netflix. I told
18:02
her I found the case fascinating and she
18:04
mentioned you did an episode on it. I
18:06
listened and became hooked." Awesome. Hailey
18:08
did a great
18:10
job covering that case. Yeah,
18:13
that was a scary case. And I
18:16
covered that like before the show came out. And
18:18
then when the show came out, I like got
18:20
reinvigorated like looking into the case again. And it
18:22
still freaks me out if I think too hard
18:24
about it. So also a really good show. Highly
18:27
recommend. And one of
18:29
the characters also is
18:32
referencing another case
18:36
that we covered John List. And
18:38
one of the characters in the Watcher is like basically
18:40
like John List.
18:42
So very, very creepy.
18:45
And shout out to your friend for recommending our podcast. And I'm
18:47
glad you're here. Yeah, always share
18:49
with your friends. Thank you. I
18:53
live in Chicago and unfortunately many neighborhoods
18:56
that were once considered safe are now
18:58
not safe. My neighborhood is one of
19:00
them. Unfortunately, multiple
19:02
kidnappings had taken place in the
19:04
neighborhood. All witnesses could say,
19:08
all witnesses could say was that they saw
19:10
a white van lurking around the time of
19:12
the kidnapping. I was
19:14
in college at the time and took the bus to school
19:16
every day. So I had to do some walking in the
19:18
early and evening hours. When
19:21
it's like dusk, dawn, kind
19:23
of dark. Yeah. Yeah.
19:27
I would sometimes stop by a grocery store or
19:29
pharmacy in the neighborhood. So that was more walking.
19:32
Before I went somewhere, my mom always reminded me to
19:34
be careful. If I went to
19:36
throw out the garbage, she would tell me to
19:38
check the alley before stepping out and to go
19:40
back inside the house if I noticed any vans.
19:44
One Saturday morning, I had a dentist appointment
19:46
and I had to take the bus. I
19:48
didn't need anything. So I just wore my
19:50
jacket, had my ID in the inside pocket
19:52
and had my phone in my outer pocket.
19:55
But Most importantly, I carried
19:57
my Kubaton, a self-defense keychain.
20:00
They'd weapon. Oh very smart.
20:02
Yeah. As I
20:04
approached the bus thought I notice a man standing
20:06
nearby am. I. Am very on edge
20:08
with others, especially this Manson. Something told
20:10
me he was shady. Trust.
20:13
Your gut, man. That's. right?
20:15
That's right. I
20:17
kept looking opposite direction as the man
20:19
would start wouldn't stop staring at me
20:21
who I prayed I would keep me
20:24
safe and clung to my cuba time
20:26
as I. In case I had to
20:28
use it. I fucking hate that shit. Like
20:30
when you but you know what I do.
20:32
I just stare at them back in their
20:34
fucking eyes. I use more. I used to
20:36
get nervous and might look away and dark
20:38
my way, but now I just stare right
20:40
back at them because chances are they'll be
20:42
like what the fuck and stop staring at
20:44
you yeah usually and they might be like.
20:46
Oh they are. Bill know what I
20:48
look like or whatever so that's that's
20:50
Marianna. Not you down to do but
20:52
it's not easy Know it. It takes
20:54
a lot of like nervous nurse to
20:56
like a woman home but he's not
20:59
a it. Nine times out of hand
21:01
has worked for me. The.
21:04
Man as me which direction of us going.
21:06
That was weird considering the bus stop we
21:08
were at. I told him I was going
21:10
north as that was the direction the bus
21:12
was going which is yeah that the alley
21:14
makes of and super close and yet. I.
21:18
Kept myself but after a few man he
21:20
asked do you drive. For. Medical reasons
21:22
I cannot drive but I told the
21:24
man yes but I prefer to take
21:26
the bus smart. Again, don't like
21:28
give away too much. Because
21:32
if he's like, oh, medical, I. They.
21:34
Don't an advantage? Yeah, he might try
21:36
to. Use that. Night.
21:41
He then asked me if I wanted
21:43
to ride i knew something was off
21:45
and politely said no thank you to
21:47
jail. After see minutes he asked me
21:49
how old I was. I was nineteen
21:51
at the time, but my gut told
21:53
me to say seventeen. After
21:56
I told him he seemed upset. Wow
21:59
That. I would not have thought
22:01
that. So that is really smart.
22:04
Like, I would have thought that
22:06
you're a minor, like 25 or
22:08
something, but that actually is really
22:11
smart to make yourself. Yeah. Yeah.
22:13
A minor. I looked
22:15
away again and kept a firm hold
22:17
on my kubaton. After a few minutes,
22:19
I heard what sounded like a car
22:22
door closing. By reflex, I looked in
22:24
the direction of the sound and saw
22:26
a white van driving off. And
22:29
the man was no longer standing there. Oh
22:31
my God. I was
22:33
in complete shock. Before I could do
22:36
anything, my bus pulled up. I immediately hopped on
22:38
and headed to my appointment. Every
22:41
time I think back to that day, I think,
22:43
did I almost get kidnapped? I
22:46
think it's very possible that that's exactly what
22:48
that man was trying to do. Yeah.
22:51
He was definitely trying to get you in his
22:53
van for one reason or another, if that was
22:55
his van. Yeah. I think
22:57
God, nothing happened to me. And my mom
22:59
and I are always praying for protection over
23:01
us. Thank you, ladies, for
23:03
doing this podcast. I enjoy listening. Keep up
23:05
the great work. Whoa.
23:08
Shout out to you and your mom for being
23:11
so aware and
23:13
knowing, yeah, you
23:15
thinking, like, I'm not going to give
23:17
away information. You had everything
23:20
like your wits about you. Because,
23:23
yeah, I definitely- Predators are persistent. They are
23:26
fucking persistent. They will keep on and keep
23:28
on and keep on until they wear you
23:30
down to where you just cave because you
23:32
run out of things, excuses.
23:34
Yeah. Or you feel bad about, say,
23:38
like being, quote unquote, rude or
23:40
something like that. Yeah. Fuck
23:42
that. Yeah. Wow.
23:44
Wow. Thank you for sending that in because that
23:46
is a good reminder for all of us to
23:48
be vigilant, be aware of our surroundings, and
23:51
don't be afraid to lie to a complete stranger
23:53
because you don't owe them shit. Yeah,
23:55
truly. And it's okay to be rude. Like,
23:59
it is okay. to be rude. It cannot
24:01
be polite to people, especially when they're making you
24:03
feel uncomfortable. Yeah, obviously
24:05
don't just be rude for no apparently
24:07
reason, but if you're uncomfortable, like absolutely be
24:09
rude. Yeah. Wow. Okay.
24:13
Thank you for sharing that. Good reminder to always be aware
24:15
of your surroundings. All
24:18
right. Our next story is from Rebecca. Hi, Rebecca.
24:21
Hi, Rebecca. Hi, guys. Writing
24:24
to you from Ontario, Canada. I
24:27
want to go to Canada so bad. I've
24:29
never been to Canada except for when
24:31
my flight got
24:34
delayed and there was a whole issue with my
24:36
life from Italy to the US and we had
24:38
to stay in Canada overnight. But I don't count
24:40
that because we literally went straight from the airport to the
24:42
hotel and then back to the airport. So I want
24:45
to go to Canada so bad. Yeah, it doesn't
24:47
count. Love
25:01
the podcast. I binge listen daily so I
25:03
can catch up and listener stories are one
25:05
of my favorite episodes. Yay. That
25:07
makes me so happy. I
25:10
have two stories for you, one dream based and
25:12
one paranormal, I think. Oh,
25:15
okay. Story one happened when I
25:17
was in university in 2013. Let
25:20
me start this by saying I've always and still
25:22
do have very vivid dreams, but they never seem
25:25
to be anything until this story. I
25:27
used to work part time in the computer labs
25:29
on campus. Great laid back job
25:31
where I could study and do assignments, especially
25:33
on slow nights. So
25:35
one night I had a dream. It was
25:37
a very vivid dream where my boss called
25:39
us all into a meeting and told us
25:41
she was shutting down the computer lab to
25:43
open a fried chicken joint. Funny, I know.
25:46
So random. I
25:48
don't want to do that anymore. Let's make chicken. Hey,
25:52
the chick fil a don't blame her. Yeah,
25:54
true. So we all
25:56
converted the giant Xerox printers into deep
25:59
fry machines. we could make this
26:01
fried chicken. So the dream
26:03
continued and we successfully opened this fried chicken
26:05
joint and then I woke up. I
26:07
got ready for my shift and walked to the
26:09
campus. I was living off campus at the time.
26:12
When I got there, I was told to go home
26:14
because the computer lab was closed down. Turns
26:18
out the entire printer system had fried
26:20
and all the printers needed to be
26:22
replaced. So there would be no
26:24
work until it got fixed. That's
26:27
funny. That's like a little coinky dink.
26:31
When I left the night before, everything was
26:33
working fine. Not sure why I dreamed that
26:35
the printer is becoming deep fryers, but I
26:38
find it weird that the next day the
26:40
entire system was fried. Some sort of thick
26:42
sense. Sense or what? I don't know. I
26:45
definitely think you had some sort of
26:47
like- That's funny. Something. That is really
26:49
funny. Yeah. And I love-
26:51
Play on words. Yeah, I love how
26:53
it turned from like fried printers and
26:55
electronics to fried chicken. That's
26:58
so funny. My
27:01
second story happened two years later in 2015, the
27:04
spooky paranormal one. I
27:06
was driving home around 1.30 AM from
27:08
my then boyfriend, now ex's house. It
27:12
was only a five minute drive, 10
27:14
minutes at the most from my parents' house. I
27:17
was driving down the main road right beside the
27:19
bay and noticed there was not a single other
27:21
car. I didn't think much of it
27:23
because it was late and a weekday. As
27:26
I was driving, I noticed what looked like a
27:28
homeless man standing in the middle of the road
27:30
under a street light pointing into the bay. This
27:33
is a little creepy, like just standing under a street light,
27:35
but okay. Yeah. I
27:37
swerved to avoid him, and when I looked in
27:40
my rear view mirror, he was gone. When
27:42
I looked forward again, there he was, standing
27:44
again in the middle of the road under
27:46
another street light pointing out to the bay.
27:50
Oh my God. Again, I
27:52
swerved around him, and when I looked back,
27:54
he was again gone. The
27:57
first time I thought maybe I was tired and I
27:59
was seeing things, The second time I started getting
28:01
a little freaked out. It
28:03
happened one more time and I started getting
28:05
a really bad feeling. Yeah,
28:08
that's creepy. I
28:11
drove well over the speed limit to get back to my
28:13
parents' house. Due to them living in a
28:15
townhouse complex, I had to park on the street. I
28:18
had to park a bit of a walk, but
28:20
being spooked by this man, I parked and then
28:22
sprinted to my parents' house, locking the door and
28:25
booking it up to my room. I'm
28:27
not sure what I saw, the reason why I
28:29
saw him three times, or if he
28:31
was trying to tell me something, but it freaked
28:33
me out and I avoided driving down that road
28:35
at night for a good while after. Yeah,
28:39
I would too. I think there
28:41
was definitely some sort of like
28:43
spirit or something following
28:45
you, trying to freak you
28:48
out if nothing else, but
28:50
yeah. So, I have
28:52
the stories were all over the place and hopefully
28:55
they made sense. My ADHD has
28:57
made storytelling hard. We
28:59
relate. We relate. Can't
29:02
wait to hear more episodes. Keep it human,
29:04
Rebecca. Thank you for
29:06
sharing, Rebecca. That
29:08
yeah, I would never
29:11
drive down that road again because there was
29:13
definitely something there. Yeah, I
29:15
would literally avoid that road like the
29:17
plague. That wow, very scary. And
29:19
I'm glad that you were able to like swerve
29:21
to avoid and it didn't,
29:23
the man or whatever this spirit
29:26
thing was didn't like follow you home.
29:29
And yeah, like what was I trying to tell you though?
29:31
That's what I'm wondering. Am I? I wonder
29:34
if it was just like, I wonder if it was just like, you
29:37
know, trying to play tricks or like
29:39
trying to get you to crash or something like,
29:41
true. Like you hit the spirit,
29:44
you would have actually hit like something
29:46
else. Yeah. This
29:49
is creepy. All
29:51
right. Our final, finer. Our
29:53
final listener story is from
29:55
Kate. Hi, Kate. Hi,
29:58
y'all. I just became a
30:00
listener to the podcast and I love it. I
30:03
love a good binge worthy podcast. So thank you.
30:05
You are so welcome. And thank you for
30:07
listening. Thank you for listening. My
30:10
name is Kate and I am born and
30:12
raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. That's so cool.
30:14
I want to go to New Orleans so
30:16
badly. Let's go, man. I want
30:18
to go. I've been, I went, but I was
30:20
like too young to do anything really. So
30:23
I want to go as an adult and enjoy
30:25
like all the food and the spirits and all
30:28
that. And yeah, spirits, drinks and spirits. This
30:33
story takes place just about 12 years ago. I
30:35
was a senior in high school and it was
30:37
the end of the year. So I was studying
30:40
for finals. I was home alone
30:42
on a Saturday night studying. My dad was
30:44
out of my dad was out and about
30:46
running errands. The house that
30:48
we were living in at the time was a
30:50
townhouse weird. That last story has to do. Now,
30:54
the thing about the townhouses is that they are all connected.
30:57
There was about 20 of them connected in
30:59
a row, but the walls weren't very thin, so
31:01
we rarely heard our neighbors. Okay. I
31:05
was studying in our dining room and my downstairs
31:07
was an open floor plan. So the living room
31:09
and dining room were basically combined. My
31:12
dad's room was directly above the living room. And
31:14
when someone walked around upstairs, you could hear it
31:16
loud and clear. Well,
31:21
as I'm studying, I was studying. I
31:23
hear loud, prevalent footsteps.
31:26
Okay. Cause that
31:28
one's home. Remember, I
31:30
ignored it at first because I figured maybe it was
31:33
the neighbor, but it kept
31:35
getting louder and the footsteps sounded like they
31:37
were exiting the room heading towards the
31:39
staircase. Uh-uh. Nope.
31:42
So naturally I freak out. I
31:46
immediately called my dad panicking and he tells me
31:48
to calm down and that he is on the
31:51
way. So in the meantime, I kept hearing the
31:53
footsteps and I refused to go to even go
31:56
near the bottom of the steps to see if
31:58
I could see anyone upstairs. Yeah, I'd
32:00
be like, I'm not gonna
32:03
be here. Thank you. No.
32:08
Even though when I hear noises in my house, I
32:10
do actually go and investigate them, but See,
32:14
I don't and I just pretend I don't
32:16
hear them. Um, we just moved and so
32:18
now we're like hearing all the new noises
32:20
in the new house and like that we're
32:22
not used to and we're just like That's
32:25
just a house noise. We're gonna ignore it Yeah.
32:29
And your kid your child is in your room. Whereas
32:31
my kids are in their own room So I feel
32:33
like I as a parent my duty is
32:35
to go investigate. So that's fair. That's
32:37
fair. Yeah My
32:40
dad happened to be across town and it was going to take him
32:42
about 45 minutes to get home.
32:44
Oh my god I
32:47
was terrified. So I ended up calling the
32:49
police. I mean that's smart, you know Because
32:51
you never know there could be somebody bringing me
32:53
into something. Yeah Yeah, the police
32:56
got to my house and searched the entire
32:58
house and found nothing So
33:01
a little backstory Oh,
33:03
so a little backstory. My dad was dating
33:05
a lady for many many years in 2010
33:08
She was involved in a deadly train
33:10
crash and at the time she had
33:12
been living with us. Oh my god
33:15
That is so i'm so sorry. That's
33:17
awful. Wow. I am so sorry After
33:21
she died I always felt this strange energy
33:23
I would pass by the room where all
33:25
her stuff was Oh
33:28
Interestingly, we ended up moving
33:30
shortly after this incident. Luckily.
33:32
Nothing like this has ever happened to me again Thank
33:35
you for listening and I hope my story makes it on
33:37
this show Xoxo Kate
33:40
Wow, okay. I took a turn. I was not
33:42
expecting it to take but I mean It
33:46
definitely could have been your dad's, you
33:48
know, your dad's girlfriend Wanting
33:50
her stuff back. I don't know like maybe
33:52
she was just connected to her belongings, you
33:54
know, wow Well,
33:57

34:15
