This is the Inner Rebels podcast

0:07

. Hello

0:17

, rebels , and welcome back to

0:19

another episode of Inner Rebels . I am your

0:21

host , melissa Bachknight , and today I'm

0:23

doing a special solo episode

0:25

dedicated to a top ic that lies

0:27

at the heart of our journey the art

0:29

of taking a leap . When we

0:31

think about taking a leap , it's natural for

0:34

fear and uncertainty to bubble up within us

0:36

. Stepping into the unknown

0:38

is terrifying I've done it a lot . It

0:40

is terrifying , but

0:43

it can also be incredibly liberating

0:45

. To me , it's about breaking

0:48

free from the chains of conformity and

0:50

embracing our authentic selves . So

0:53

this conversation , i hope , will

0:55

ignite and inner fire within you

0:57

, jess , and I have been

0:59

talking about this conversation In

1:01

fact , it just happened

1:04

to come up in our interview

1:06

with the wonderful guest , christine that

1:08

we just had And it's something

1:10

that we are navigating

1:12

all the time as we continue

1:15

to level up in our own businesses and lives . We

1:17

live in a world that often pressures us to follow

1:19

a predefined path , to conform to societal

1:21

norms and expectations , which is why we

1:23

have the Interrebel podcast right . But deep

1:25

down , we hear this call of

1:28

our Interrebel , this voice that longs for something

1:30

more , something beyond

1:32

the ordinary . It's this voice

1:34

inside of us that whispers like there's

1:36

something more for you . There's

1:39

something else out there that aligns with

1:41

your truest self

1:43

, and if you've

1:45

had that voice , you know exactly what

1:47

I'm talking about . That voice is

1:49

something that is almost

1:52

ever present in me . Taking

1:55

a leap is not just about making a radical change

1:57

or taking a risk for the

1:59

sake of it . It's

2:01

about living a life that reflects our deepest

2:04

desires and values

2:06

. It's about mustering up

2:08

that soul level courage

2:10

to step into the unknown or

2:12

to create your own path

2:15

. Less traveled Rebels

2:17

. When we take this leap , what

2:20

we're doing is we're unlocking a whole world

2:22

of possibilities that we never , ever

2:24

, could have imagined . You are absolutely

2:27

going to stumble , you are absolutely going to face

2:29

obstacles , and

2:32

in that process you'll discover newfound

2:34

strengths and resilience within

2:36

yourself . And those moments

2:38

of uncertainty are the ones that help you grow

2:41

the most And where you find

2:43

the strength to challenge the status quo and

2:45

to continue to build a life that

2:48

truly is your own

2:50

. But how do we do it ? How do

2:52

we take a leap ? I laugh

2:54

when Justin , my human design reading and

2:57

I don't even remember exactly what she said , but who

2:59

I'm designed to be is basically somebody that hucks

3:01

themself off of a major cliff every few years

3:03

, which I've done . When

3:05

I was 18 and I went to college , i lived

3:08

in Ohio for 18 years and

3:10

went to the same school

3:12

system the entire time , and then I moved

3:14

across the country to Tampa Florida to

3:16

college , where I knew nobody . I

3:19

ended up moving to Colorado when I was 25

3:22

and took the leap to quit

3:24

my very successful job in the mortgage

3:26

industry albeit it was crashing , but

3:29

I moved to Colorado . I

3:31

think I took like $5,000 and was like I'll

3:33

figure it out when I get there . I found a roommate on Craigslist

3:36

Her husband ended up being the officiant of our wedding

3:38

and she's one of my best

3:40

friends and I've known her now for 15 years Took

3:44

a leap leaving my corporate career and it

3:47

keeps going So on and so forth , and

3:49

now I'm leaping almost regularly into

3:51

the next highest level version

3:54

of me . I'm taking a leap and rebranding all

3:56

of the Ripple connection to Nova

3:58

, so you'll be seeing some of that and we're

4:00

launching a global community for

4:02

conscious , professional women to get supported and

4:04

resourced in their whole entire lives . That

4:07

is my next leap . So How

4:10

do we I don't even know if it's silence

4:12

the doubts , but give them less

4:15

power and

4:17

the fears , less power , that are trying

4:19

to tell us to stay small and wanting

4:21

us to remain status

4:23

quo and to not be brave

4:25

and not follow this courage . How

4:27

do we do that ? The number

4:29

one thing that I believe that you have

4:32

to do in order to not let

4:34

the fear be bigger than the courage is connect

4:36

with other kindred spirits are also

4:38

navigating similar path . We

4:41

need each other . We need to link arms . This

4:43

is not meant to happen alone , and

4:45

we can find the support and inspiration

4:47

, also that mirror to remind you how

4:49

amazing you are when you

4:52

can't see it for yourself or you're starting to

4:54

lose your belief . It's also

4:56

important to remember that taking

4:58

a leap doesn't mean abandoning all

5:00

of your caution . Sometimes

5:03

you're dipping your toe in the water , taking really small

5:05

, bite size , iterative actions , and sometimes it's a

5:07

cannonball as

5:09

far as shifting your life . To me , it's about calculated

5:12

risks . It's about being prepared

5:14

for whatever challenges that you're aware of

5:16

that lie ahead and having a

5:19

very soul aligned , yet

5:21

flowy plan in place . We

5:24

are not going to have all the answers . I

5:26

always say we build the plane

5:28

as we fly it and

5:31

we must trust in our ability

5:33

to learn and adapt as we go

5:36

, because you are never going to have all the

5:38

answers before you take a leap . One

5:40

other key ingredient

5:42

to taking a leap is redefining

5:44

your relationship with failure . Failure

5:47

is not something to be feared . I know we hear this all

5:49

the time , but it's true . It's an

5:51

opportunity for information , for growth and for learning

5:54

. I used to be terrified

5:56

of failure . I was a four boy no student

5:58

who was the captain of all the sports teams

6:00

and I would

6:03

do whatever it took to

6:05

not quote unquote failed . I was so scared of

6:07

what it meant for me that if I wasn't at the top of my

6:09

game , that if I wasn't number one or in the top one

6:11

to 10% , what does that mean about

6:13

me ? In fact , i think there was a time in

6:15

my life where I said I've never actually failed . I don't

6:17

even know what that feels like . That

6:19

has changed since taking all these big

6:21

leaps . I personally needed

6:24

all that information , all the insight

6:26

that I've gotten through having flopped

6:29

launches or I've hosted hundreds

6:32

of events and more than a handful

6:34

nobody showed up for . I've

6:36

had major tech issues . I've had 50

6:38

people in the room for an event , for

6:41

a screening of something , and not been able to get the projector

6:43

to work . I have failed

6:45

at conversations , i have failed at

6:47

friendships . At times I feel

6:49

like I've failed at my marriage , and all

6:52

of these things have given me such information

6:55

on , a maybe

6:57

how to do it different , b that I was on the round

6:59

path in the first place and see

7:01

that I'm so resilient and

7:04

that I believe that I can persevere through

7:06

anything . So

7:09

as we embrace our inner rebel , together

7:11

, we get to create a ripple effect that

7:13

inspires other people to do the same . We

7:16

have to share our stories about taking leaps

7:18

, because we need this

7:21

beacon , this vision holder for

7:23

us to see other people who are

7:25

walking on the edge , who are taking

7:28

these risks that we might be afraid to take

7:31

. And when we feel

7:33

uncertain about whether or not to make

7:35

a jump , we see other people and they

7:37

give us hope , they show us what's

7:39

possible and they give us permission

7:42

to live life on our own terms . When

7:44

we see other people having

7:46

the thing , being the person

7:49

doing the thing that we desire

7:51

, we have permission

7:53

to pursue our dreams and passions

7:55

with that level of wild

7:57

determination and it does feel wild

7:59

. I really want you to

8:02

turn inward , to

8:05

trust that inner voice inside of you

8:07

, the one that has been calling

8:09

you forward into this higher expression

8:11

of you . I want you to trust

8:14

that this journey is going to not

8:16

look like anybody else's . It is

8:18

unique to you , and you are never

8:20

alone in this pursuit

8:23

. Reach out to us

8:25

your rebel community . We want

8:27

to hear it . We want to hear what are you afraid of

8:29

? What are your dreams ? when somebody tells me

8:31

their vision , i feel

8:33

like a light bulb flips off inside

8:35

of me . That has me feel so

8:37

excited and I

8:40

get locked in . I get locked in

8:42

with you and I hold

8:45

that vision as if it is already

8:47

alive in the world

8:49

, and so I want to

8:52

invite you to connect

8:54

with people who can hold your vision where it feels

8:56

safe and who can guide

8:58

you in a way that lets you honor yourself And

9:01

remember that this is not just

9:03

an act of rebellion . It's

9:06

an act of self-love , it's

9:08

an act of self-discovery and

9:10

it's a bold declaration that

9:13

you are worthy of

9:15

a life that resonates with your

9:17

truest self . Thank

9:19

you for joining me on this

9:21

solo episode of something that

9:24

I am the most

9:26

passionate about and

9:29

I hold for you that

9:31

you choose courage over fear and

9:34

that , whatever you're being called towards , you

9:36

find us , find your community . This

9:38

is what I do for a living . I

9:40

guide people through taking big leaps

9:42

in their life . Whether it's a big leap in a

9:44

career , usually the thing

9:46

that is calling you forward

9:49

is I want something with more meaning , more purpose

9:51

. I feel like I'm just okay

9:53

, or maybe I'm making a lot of money but I don't

9:55

feel fulfilled in my job . Or you're

9:58

going through a major life transition . A lot of

10:00

the women I coach have navigated divorce

10:02

and they're really looking

10:04

to reconnect with themselves and

10:07

decide how they want to

10:09

live their lives . And

10:12

I just got off of a major soapbox

10:14

on my . I lead a mastermind called The Bridge

10:16

and it's a small , intimate

10:19

group . It's 10 or less women that

10:21

are all committed

10:23

to being conscious , professional

10:25

women and bringing forward their professional gifts

10:27

in a way that deeply honors themselves . And

10:29

so we do a lot of inner work and we do a lot of outer work

10:32

and kind of blend soul and strategy . But I was

10:34

on the soapbox about like your

10:36

leap is not going to look like anybody else's and

10:38

it's never supposed to , and that

10:40

it's going to take shitloads of courage and

10:42

that there is the part of it where you want to have

10:45

the business plan and the strategy , if that

10:47

speaks to you . Sometimes I can

10:49

get in the way of you actually just doing the things . You

10:51

will always figure out how to do

10:54

it along the way , but if we

10:56

wait until we have all the answers

10:58

, we'll never , ever start . So

11:00

start today . Start with just

11:02

the calling , start with just the passion , plug

11:05

into our community , find

11:08

a coach , find a mentor . I literally never

11:10

exist without one , and I participated

11:12

in a lot of intimate masterminds . That is what's

11:14

helped me deeply to continue

11:17

to take these brave leads in my life . So please

11:19

don't try to do it alone , but

11:21

please do it All right . we love

11:23

you so much . Thank you for being a part of our inner rebel

11:25

community and we will see you

11:28

next week .
