1:45

.

1:45

Thank you so much , Richard . I'm excited

1:48

to be on the show about

1:50

something that I feel initiated

1:52

this entire mindset , which is running .

1:55

For sure , For sure , and I'm happy to

1:57

have you on the show and I've been following

1:59

your journey for a while professionally

2:01

personally in your podcast . So I'm really

2:03

excited to share your story

2:05

with our community because I think you have a really powerful

2:08

story around mindset that can help

2:10

our listeners in their own journey . And

2:13

while you have such an incredible professional

2:15

career , we really want to kind of get to kind of focus

2:17

on your personal journey in terms of how

2:20

you started running and what that journey has

2:22

been like for you . So let's just kind

2:24

of wind back the clock a little bit and tell

2:26

us a little bit about you

2:28

and where you started with your running journey .

2:31

Yeah , I

2:34

was going to say that when

2:36

I first started running was back when

2:38

I had my second daughter , but

2:40

actually I was literally about to lie to

2:42

you . That was like my quickest

2:44

memories , and

2:46

I was really young probably

2:50

five , six , seven I'd

2:54

always encouraged my mom to

2:56

go for a walk because I

2:58

wanted to run , I

3:01

ran and she would walk and

3:04

I wanted to go . You know , I grew up in the

3:08

foothills of Yosemite National Park

3:10

in California , and

3:12

so my neighborhoods looked

3:14

very different than your traditional

3:17

suburban neighborhoods or

3:19

communities , and

3:22

you know , we would go in the back roads

3:25

and my mom would , you

3:27

know , walk and I would be running and

3:29

then walking , running and

3:32

I don't know . As I got

3:34

older than I participated in sports

3:37

and the thing that I was

3:39

really great at I loved soccer , but

3:41

they would put me in midfield because

3:44

I was a runner , right , I was just

3:46

like running up and down the hill and up

3:48

and down the field and

3:50

I was the fastest and

3:53

I loved it . And it's funny

3:55

that it took me a minute , though , to

3:58

just singular that

4:01

love and that passion and just run

4:03

, right , I didn't want to participate in

4:05

track , I didn't want to participate in

4:07

cross country . For some reason

4:10

I stuck with soccer and

4:12

then it wasn't until my

4:15

early twenties because

4:17

I had my children really young it

4:20

was my second daughter that

4:22

I had a friend who kind

4:25

of she initiated this

4:27

hey , let's start training

4:29

for a half marathon . And

4:31

I thought , well , why

4:34

not , I don't have anything else to do at

4:36

the time . So , you

4:38

know , it kind of brought that love that

4:40

I have for running and I was able to

4:42

put it into a

4:45

goal , something that really you

4:47

know you got to see your outcome

4:49

, doing like

4:51

the end result right , which is your end

4:53

time , and then it really

4:56

stuck with me . So

4:59

that's , you know , for me that's kind of how

5:01

, like , running really started

5:03

in my life . But it wasn't

5:05

until my early

5:08

to mid twenties

5:10

when I started

5:12

really putting this

5:15

entire mindset in alignment

5:17

with this physical endurance that

5:19

I was doing .

5:22

Thank you for sharing that , and I love how your story

5:24

began , where you're taking those walks

5:26

with your mom and you know , I'm sure that's

5:28

very nostalgic to kind of think about those

5:31

memories in those times . So that's pretty cool

5:33

. And so then you run your , you

5:35

train for your half marathon with your friend

5:37

, and that's actually somewhat of

5:39

a common way for runners to

5:41

get into running is a friend invites them to run

5:43

a 5k or a half marathon

5:45

. So you know , tell me what that's like . Because you didn't

5:48

run cross country in tracks , you probably

5:50

didn't run that distance . Tell me what

5:52

you know . Why did you decide to do it and what was that

5:54

training like for you ?

5:57

So it definitely

5:59

stemmed from really

6:02

, truly not having any

6:04

extra curricular activities

6:06

for myself . So I

6:10

was 19 when I got married

6:12

and then I was 20 when I had my first

6:14

daughter . So that's really

6:16

, you know , even though I'm

6:19

not super young , but

6:22

I'm still young ish Still

6:25

for that time , that timeframe

6:28

not a lot of people are

6:30

having kids at that age , right . But you know there's a separate program

6:32

I'm going to be working on going into for young . It

6:35

was like that was more ideal even

6:37

before then , maybe even like my

6:39

parents' generation and so on and

6:42

so forth . But I

6:44

felt like my generation was just not

6:46

really there . They were like going

6:48

to college and I got married and had

6:51

kids . So my

6:55

husband then

6:57

he would work

6:59

all day literally . He would leave

7:02

the house probably like 5am

7:04

and then wouldn't come home until like 6 or

7:06

7pm and

7:08

that was like Monday through Friday and

7:11

I was really really incredibly

7:13

lonely and I felt

7:15

like I had no identity

7:18

. I was starting to really feel like I had no identity

7:20

and being a young

7:23

person in their 20s

7:25

and then having two children as

7:27

a responsibility . And

7:29

then I had just moved

7:31

to Arizona from California

7:35

and I was meeting

7:37

new people

7:40

, but really I didn't have any friends

7:42

. So I

7:45

thought that if I could just focus

7:47

on giving

7:49

myself these goals , that

7:51

it would kind of give me a breakthrough out my day

7:54

, to be able to like have

7:56

something to look forward to . And

7:58

really that was for me kind of

8:00

like my outlet to

8:03

understanding

8:06

myself or just

8:08

seeing what I could do , like

8:10

a challenge for myself . But I think it really

8:12

stemmed from being really

8:14

lonely and not having anything for myself

8:17

to do because I was stay at home mom

8:19

. But you know , I

8:21

stayed at home , I wasn't going to school or anything

8:23

. So

8:25

when my friend

8:27

had asked me to do it , I thought

8:29

, you know , first

8:32

I was actually a little concerned like how

8:34

would I do this with my kids

8:36

while my husband was working

8:40

right , like how would I juggle that ? And

8:42

I had

8:45

to get really creative with how

8:47

I was going to have my kids watch or if I would go

8:49

in the evening time with my girlfriend . But

8:53

that was kind of like another thing , like if you want something

8:55

bad enough , you will always figure

8:57

out a way to make it happen . You

9:00

just will . So you

9:02

know that was kind of like one of the beginning of like the

9:04

eye openers for me was that

9:06

you

9:08

can feel like you have every reason

9:10

to say no and you don't

9:13

have the time , the capacity or the availability

9:16

or the ability to

9:18

do it , and

9:20

you'll surprise yourself that

9:22

you'll figure out a way when you want

9:24

to enough .

9:27

Completely agree , Completely agree . And that's , you know , a

9:29

message that we try to , you know , share

9:32

, right In terms of I love what you said about

9:34

if you really want a bad enough , you'll find

9:36

a way . And it's important

9:38

to know , because we all have responsibilities

9:41

and we have commitments and we have reasons

9:43

why we think we can't do something

9:45

. But you know , I love what you said there about

9:48

, you know , just trying to figure out a way to manage

9:50

your schedule and manage your kids . And

9:52

I get this question asked a lot like how do you

9:54

balance all the things that you're doing working

9:56

nine to five , podcasting , running

9:58

, volunteering and you know , my answer

10:01

is well , I don't do all of it , well , all the

10:03

time , but I try to prioritize

10:06

what's really important and I try to give each one

10:08

of those areas that are important to me it's

10:10

due time and my attention

10:12

. So it takes planning and it takes

10:14

work , but if you want it , like you said , if you want it bad

10:16

enough , you'll find a way .

10:19

Yeah for sure . And

10:21

you know , when you start

10:23

seeing I don't

10:25

want to say like glimmers of happiness , but when you

10:27

start seeing kind of these , like pockets

10:30

of sunshine in your life and

10:32

you , you then will like hold

10:35

on to it , because life's

10:37

crazy , life's busy life

10:39

can be really

10:42

difficult

10:45

and it can really feel

10:47

like we're constantly out

10:49

running or weighing through

10:51

rainstorms . And so when we find

10:53

these pockets of sunshine , the things that

10:55

allow us to feel like we have

10:58

reprieve or happiness

11:00

, and find that joy , you know

11:03

it's

11:05

so hard to then let it go . And I think

11:07

that when you combine habit

11:10

and you find the love

11:13

for it , it becomes something

11:15

that is impossible for you to shake . And

11:17

I will add this one thing is that I've always

11:19

been a really avid . I love

11:22

music , love music

11:24

. And so it also allowed

11:26

me to feel like I

11:28

could totally disconnect from

11:31

real life and I would just

11:33

lose my thoughts in

11:36

music . And when

11:38

I did that , I really started

11:40

to see that I was actually

11:43

really a skilled

11:45

or talented runner , because my

11:48

longevity and my endurance and

11:50

even my pace

11:53

was at

11:56

least double

11:58

the advancement of my

12:00

friend , and then my sister ended up

12:02

running with us as well

12:04

. And

12:06

so obviously when you start seeing like

12:09

, oh , I have , I

12:11

have some skills in this , then

12:13

it , you know , it gives you kind of even more

12:15

of that ambition and not that

12:18

ammo to want to keep

12:20

doing it .

12:22

For sure . So you know , actually

12:25

I had this conversation with somebody a couple

12:27

of months ago . They were like , you know , when you start

12:30

something like this , like with running , it's

12:32

hard . It's hard when you get started first

12:34

, then you're going to want to quit and you got to keep moving

12:36

. But you know , once you start to get

12:38

better , you're going to start to enjoy it and

12:41

you're going to start to like , want to do it

12:43

even more . So I could totally understand

12:45

what you're saying there having that , you know

12:47

, having that confidence and getting , you know , having more

12:49

enjoyment in what you're doing .

12:52

Yeah , and it , you know , honestly , it's like

12:55

really evolutionized my

12:57

life which

13:00

I'm sure we're going to get into more of

13:02

and how , like , at

13:04

the time , that's where I really

13:06

it was my own support

13:08

system and in this really

13:12

hectic and crazy time in my life

13:15

and I didn't realize how

13:17

much I needed it , but

13:19

it was more than what I thought

13:22

. Right , like , what did I say at the

13:24

beginning of it is that it made me feel

13:26

good . It gave me something to do . It gave me something

13:28

to look forward to . I

13:30

was able to just get lost in

13:32

the music and enjoy , because I

13:34

love , like I

13:37

love all kinds of music

13:39

, but really I love house music . I'm

13:41

like one of those people I'm like sure , give

13:43

me some more deadmau5 and adventure club

13:46

. But what running

13:48

did for me was so much bigger

13:50

and so much greater than what

13:53

I initially thought it was doing

13:55

for me , which is what and

13:57

why I hold , like

14:00

, the talent and the desire of

14:03

running so close to

14:05

my heart .

14:07

Well , let's talk about that , let's get right into that , because

14:09

I know that you had some challenges

14:12

in your

14:14

life and you changed your mindset . You have a really

14:16

strong mindset and we talked

14:19

a little bit about the four pillars of becoming

14:21

unstoppable . So let's hear a little bit about

14:23

what was going on in your life during that time

14:25

.

14:26

Yeah . So I continued running

14:28

. That was really my basis

14:30

of my foundation , of the things that

14:32

I looked forward to , because

14:34

by Child

14:38

3 , I started

14:40

to really have some

14:42

inner conflict and

14:44

struggles about where I was at in

14:46

my life and the support system

14:48

that I had around me , and

14:52

I had to really

14:55

take an inward look and

14:58

think to myself

15:00

is this the life that

15:03

I want , not just

15:05

for me , but also the

15:07

example that I wanted to lead

15:09

for my children ? And

15:11

it was an example that

15:14

I always came not second

15:16

, I would say like fourth . I

15:19

came fourth in the family

15:21

line and or fifth , I guess , because

15:23

by that time I had three kids and

15:27

I wasn't

15:29

being the person that I

15:31

knew I could be , because I was putting

15:33

excuses ahead and

15:36

I was becoming the parent of do

15:38

as I say , not as I do . And

15:41

it wasn't that I was doing anything

15:44

inappropriate or bad or anything like that

15:46

. That was a bad example for my children

15:48

. It was that I wasn't doing anything at all Right

15:51

. So if I'm telling my children , you

15:55

need to give yourself a chance , you need

15:57

to put yourself out there , you need

15:59

to challenge

16:01

yourself and take risks , but

16:04

yet I wasn't doing it as

16:06

a parent , because I was saying

16:08

well , how do I do this if

16:10

I have no money ? How do I do this if I'm at

16:12

home with the kids ? How do I do this If I have no

16:14

talents ? How do I do this If I've not

16:16

even graduated from college ? How

16:19

do I do any of this ? And

16:22

I could say , well , it's

16:24

because of my circumstances and

16:28

when I had this epiphany and this realization

16:30

that I no longer wanted to be

16:32

this person , this no longer served

16:34

me as an individual and

16:36

even in my evolutionary

16:38

growth , if

16:42

I wasn't going to have the support , I was going to have

16:44

to then choose to be my own support system . And

16:48

throughout this time I started

16:51

as I was still running . I'm still continuously

16:53

training for half

16:55

marathons . One of my favorite half marathon

16:58

was the La

17:00

Jolla half , which I that was like my

17:04

first love , and so

17:06

it will always have a really special place

17:09

in my heart . But at

17:13

the time I was really

17:15

still thinking that running

17:17

was just this physical endurance , this way to run

17:24

away from my reality and

17:27

have a moment to have reprieve . But what was really happening

17:30

was that

17:32

when I would go on these long

17:34

runs and you would , you know , you're like , oh , I'm

17:37

training for a half

17:39

marathon and you're

17:41

getting closer and you're like

17:43

, okay , I'm doing 10 miles a day , I'm doing 10 miles

17:45

a day , I'm doing 12 miles a day . And

17:48

you're getting close to race day and

17:52

you're thinking , I mean , and I lived

17:54

I now live in Oregon , but I

17:56

lived in Arizona during

17:59

this time and

18:02

there are some really hot days you

18:04

do not want to go running , and

18:08

even not even hot days , but there's a lot

18:10

of very dusty

18:12

days where you don't even want

18:14

to go outside because you don't want to breathe

18:16

in the mess , and then the next day you feel like

18:18

crap and all this stuff . So you have to

18:20

really like motivate your mind . But

18:23

I started to realize

18:25

that there is this

18:28

really beautiful synergy

18:30

between your

18:33

experience in running and physically

18:37

pushing yourself

18:39

to go beyond what

18:41

your body is telling you . And

18:43

so I had the ability . I knew , unlike

18:46

other people struggle

18:49

with being able to say

18:51

, well , no , I'm going to give you

18:53

another goal , I'm going to run to

18:55

that . Stop , sign , right

18:58

, I'm giving . I'm thinking in my mind I want

19:00

to quit . Right now I can't do this , I'm exhausted

19:02

, I'm thirsty , I'm tired of the dust

19:04

, whatever , or

19:07

I'm not feeling it right now I

19:09

would say , okay , I'm going to give myself up

19:11

to this stop sign and if I really

19:13

feel like I can't make it , I'll

19:16

give myself a break . And

19:18

then I would get to that stop sign and I'm like , well

19:21

, there's a little juice left in me . I'm

19:23

going to give myself another goal

19:26

. And then I kept finding that every

19:28

time I

19:30

would give myself these goals , I wasn't putting

19:32

this exorbitant amount of pressure

19:35

, that I was able to continue

19:37

to progress . And

19:39

eventually I'm like , well , shit , I'm

19:42

done . You know , I completed

19:44

my goal and

19:47

I survived it . My body's

19:49

still intact . I didn't keel

19:51

over and die from the exhaustion

19:53

or whatever my mind was telling

19:55

me . And

19:58

so , the more that I started dissecting

20:00

that and realizing that

20:02

it's all in my mind that I

20:04

have the power to change my life

20:06

. I have the power to endure

20:08

the difficulties . I have the power to

20:11

do what is necessary to

20:13

take my life from over

20:16

here to a totally different

20:18

area , that is , the unknown

20:20

. That's scary , that's where

20:24

there is no financial

20:26

support , and now I have to be able to

20:28

be the person to make

20:30

it happen . And

20:33

it allowed me to really kind of resonate and

20:35

think in my mind well , what are all

20:37

the things that you've been able to accomplish

20:39

, that you would

20:42

have potentially

20:44

thought otherwise , but yet you

20:47

wanted it so bad you made it happen

20:49

, right , and there's that law of manifestation

20:52

. But without action there is

20:54

no manifestation , because the universe is not

20:56

going to just miraculously plop

20:58

something into your lab and

21:01

that's . You know . Even with running or

21:03

any of the stories that we hear about our

21:05

physical bodies and

21:08

healing itself , it's

21:10

not that it just happened randomly

21:14

. It's because we've put our mind

21:17

, our energy , our

21:19

, like every

21:21

singular cell is

21:23

so focused on the desire

21:26

that it manifests itself

21:28

. It then draws in there and it's

21:30

not in a way of like begging

21:33

the universe , it's like this powerful

21:35

, like gratitude . Thank you , I

21:38

can do this . I appreciate

21:40

the universe , I appreciate God , I appreciate

21:42

what I have , I

21:44

appreciate my lungs , my legs

21:47

, my skills . And

21:49

that's when you're able to

21:51

go from what you think you can

21:54

to another level , to another

21:56

level , to another level . And then you look

21:58

back and you're like , oh my gosh , I'm

22:01

miles and miles and miles and miles

22:04

ahead of what I thought I could do . And

22:08

that's where , like running for me , became

22:11

really powerful , because

22:13

every time I would utilize

22:16

it as an

22:18

opportunity to grow my mind

22:20

to focus on the things that I wanted

22:23

, the things that I wanted

22:25

to change and how I was going to do it . It

22:27

was like I had no fear . Fear

22:30

had no power over me and I

22:32

was able to change and transform

22:34

my life from being

22:37

a single mom with having no money

22:39

, no financial support , family

22:41

leaving me completely , friends

22:44

no longer being my friend , and

22:46

I was the bad guy because

22:49

I no longer wanted my life to look like

22:51

this to then

22:53

transforming it to who

22:56

I am today , and

22:58

not only in a professional

23:01

level or financial level , but

23:04

also in a spiritual level . And

23:06

ultimately , I did find

23:09

the person that resonates with me

23:11

. I'm married , I remarried

23:13

and we

23:16

have together . We have five beautiful

23:19

children , and I

23:21

really don't believe that a

23:24

person can evolutionize in

23:26

that way without the

23:29

experience , without the

23:32

physical experience , of

23:34

what it feels like to stretch yourself

23:36

so far past what you think you

23:38

can physically do , because

23:40

sometimes spiritual exhaustion is

23:43

it's easy to quit right , and

23:45

so is your physical exhaustion

23:48

. But the thing

23:50

about spirituality is that you

23:52

don't see your gains

23:54

necessarily as easy as you

23:56

know physical right , and

23:59

it takes a lot more

24:01

thought , it takes a lot more patience

24:04

and ability to be able to dissect

24:08

in and really focus

24:10

on . Where

24:12

is this coming from ? Who

24:14

am I , what are the desires that I want

24:16

in my life and how am I going to achieve them

24:19

. And then , when you implement them and

24:21

saying like , well , my physical body

24:23

that I thought couldn't do this

24:25

has done all these things

24:27

and I know that in

24:29

my mind , spiritually , I

24:32

can then achieve all these things over

24:34

here and I have the endurance to

24:37

withstand the struggle

24:39

and the pain and

24:42

the unknown , because

24:44

I was able to do this and you

24:46

know , running for me ultimately taught that

24:48

to me . And I

24:52

did end up having a point in my life

24:54

where this

24:56

was probably five years ago I

24:59

used to think I'm like I don't know if I could ever live life

25:02

if I couldn't run right , because

25:04

I put a lot of my emphasis , a lot of my

25:06

stresses or just my belief system in running

25:08

. And , of course , I

25:10

ended up having this pivotal moment

25:13

in my life where my

25:16

body just

25:20

could not do it . And you

25:22

know , it was so heartbreaking for

25:24

me to

25:27

kind of have this acceptance of

25:30

almost a closure of

25:32

being able to do these massive long

25:35

distance runnings , but

25:37

it then made me realize

25:39

that , like everything comes in seasons for

25:41

me , now I focus on other things

25:43

that help expand

25:46

my talent , things that I never thought that I could

25:48

do . And

25:50

you know , of course , I still love running . I

25:53

just love it in a very different way

25:55

than the way that I used to .

25:57

For sure , for sure , you have an incredible

25:59

story and I was just gonna say

26:01

it's so wonderful to hear how running

26:04

was there for you in your time of need

26:06

, kind of like , as you said , during that season

26:08

. And I love how running

26:10

. There's that parallel between the physical

26:13

aspect of running and then how

26:15

you move through your everyday

26:17

life and your mindset and your philosophy

26:20

about achieving things that you

26:22

never thought you could achieve and just kind of taking

26:24

that one mile at a time and another

26:27

mile and another mile . So I love

26:29

the parallel between you know the physical aspect

26:31

of running but also in your life

26:33

and , you know , overcoming those limiting beliefs

26:35

. We all think , well , I can only go

26:37

here , but in reality we

26:39

can go here , but we have to believe

26:41

that we can and we have to take action , which

26:44

is something else that you said , which is completely

26:46

true . You have to take that first step

26:48

and you know that's something that we talk about

26:50

here in terms of the three pillars

26:53

here on , inspired by One Podcast mindset

26:55

, movement and motivation . You know , first you have

26:57

to believe and make that decision , but

26:59

second , for movement , you have to take the first step

27:01

, you have to actually get moving . And

27:04

then three if you wanna see those long-term results

27:06

, you gotta be consistent , you gotta stick

27:08

with it and you gotta keep moving . So you

27:10

know , really love this . You know what

27:12

you shared about your story and your journey and

27:15

I think that's really inspiring for

27:17

people to hear that you really changed

27:19

your life and running was a big part

27:21

of that . You know , both physically and

27:23

mentally .

27:25

Yeah , there are so many experiences in life

27:27

that you can , you know , have the desire

27:30

to want to re-experience it again . But

27:32

it's like I said , you know , I've learned that

27:34

life is really in seasons

27:36

and we

27:39

can still hold things very close

27:41

to us and that we can have a lot

27:43

of love and admiration for

27:45

what we experienced , and we

27:47

may experience it differently

27:50

. But one of the things that I am a very

27:52

like , I'm an advocate

27:54

about is never

27:57

say never , and you

27:59

have to

28:01

allow yourself to go through the

28:04

ebbs and flows of life . It's

28:06

kind of like the more you resist

28:08

something , the more difficult it's gonna feel

28:10

. You're gonna find yourself to be much

28:13

happier and much more pliable when

28:15

life changes . You know , I

28:17

used to say this was prior

28:20

to my mindset changes

28:22

. I would say I would never do that , I will never

28:24

be this , I would never experience this , all this stuff . And

28:26

then my life totally went

28:29

completely different and

28:31

I used to say

28:33

I will never do yoga . I

28:36

will never do yoga . Like , that's not for

28:38

me . I like high endurance

28:40

, I like that feeling , I like to listen to my

28:42

music . And now here

28:44

I am , like in this season

28:47

of my life , where yoga

28:49

, for me , is exactly

28:52

what I need and it's a totally

28:54

different , totally

28:57

different mind frame and

28:59

it's very controlled . It's

29:02

very slow and

29:05

it's very concise , while

29:07

running is very high impact , very high

29:10

energy , high adrenaline . And

29:12

it's funny because at that time in my life I needed

29:14

that and now I need

29:16

something else . But yet sometimes

29:18

your body and life will have to

29:20

kind of dictate you and lead

29:23

you down the path that you need to

29:25

go down . So , like I guess

29:27

my advice to people is

29:29

, try not to be too resistant

29:31

. You know we don't have life

29:33

figured out and if

29:35

we allow life

29:38

to help us

29:40

through as we're doing the work , but

29:42

to follow through with

29:44

the ebbs and flows of life and , like a

29:46

river runs

29:48

its course , you're

29:51

going to find yourself to feel not

29:54

only happier , more satisfied

29:57

, but that you're going to be able to , when

29:59

you do , accomplish the things that you do

30:01

, you're going to feel so much more satisfactory

30:03

. You're not going to feel like , oh , I didn't do

30:05

that time good enough , I didn't do this

30:08

good enough . Oh , you know you end up being so

30:10

hard on yourself because you have these like incredible

30:13

, like expectations . But

30:15

you know not to be morbid . But

30:17

you think , well , what if I don't ever do this

30:19

again . Just enjoy the moment , then

30:21

. Do enjoy what you're doing

30:23

today , because tomorrow and

30:25

then , you know , next week or a year

30:27

from now , you don't know where

30:30

you'll be , you won't know what season you're

30:32

in . So

30:34

just enjoy it . Enjoy

30:36

what you're doing today , every single day .

30:40

Love it , love it . Thank you so much , karina

30:42

. I love hearing about your journey and you

30:44

know what you're sharing here and you

30:46

know I'd love to hear you know . One

30:48

of the questions I normally ask is you

30:50

know , as we wind down here , what would

30:53

be the one thing you would say to inspire

30:55

our community to run ? But I think I'll

30:57

change that for this conversation . My question

30:59

would be what is the one thing you

31:01

would say to inspire our community to

31:04

take that first step , to do something

31:06

that they're afraid to do , or do something that

31:08

they don't think that they can do ?

31:11

I love this question . If

31:13

you have a burning desire

31:15

in your heart to try something

31:17

, just ask yourself what

31:20

is it going to hurt to just

31:22

try ? Just do one day

31:25

. Put yourself out there . It's

31:28

not going to change , it's not going to make or

31:30

break your life . So why don't you

31:32

just give yourself that one moment

31:34

where you're

31:37

not thinking so hard about

31:40

the outcome , you're not thinking well

31:42

, what if I don't continue

31:44

? What if I give up ? What

31:46

if I'm not consistent ? Check

31:48

all that at the door . Do

31:51

the thing that you desire , whether it's

31:53

running or any other physical activity

31:55

which is so extremely important for our bodies

31:58

and our minds . Just

32:02

try one time and

32:04

give yourself that one goal and you'll

32:06

surprise yourself that , if you go in

32:08

without judgment , without expectations

32:11

, that it's going to

32:13

feel a thousand times easier to

32:16

go to the gym to lift weights

32:18

, to get a trainer to go play soccer

32:20

, to go just outside and

32:22

run , because you don't have

32:25

expectations of what it's

32:27

supposed to look like , how it's supposed to

32:29

feel . And then what do you do after

32:31

that ? Just do it and

32:34

you'll then know

32:36

if that's something that resonates with you . You're

32:39

going to find another opportunity . You're going to say that's

32:41

not that bad , that wasn't that scary . That

32:43

was much easier than I thought . And

32:46

, before you know it , it's going to be something

32:48

that you continually give yourself as a goal to

32:50

attain weekly

32:52

100% .

32:55

Karina , thank you so much . Thank you again for
