Anita Lobel, award-winning illustrator, author of over 60 children’s books, Caldecott Medalist and finalist for the National Book Award for her childhood memoir, No Pretty Pictures: A child of War, speaks candidly about her new autofiction book, Stone Soup: Morsels of an Unsettled Life. In it, she comes to terms with numerous forces in her life including the abrupt end of her 30-year marriage in the mid-1980’s to Frog and Toad children’s book author, Arnold Lobel, who left after coming out as a homosexual then died of AIDS less than two years later.
