EuroPython, the longest-running community-organised Python conference in Europe, will take place in Dublin on 11th-17th July. The week-long event will gather over 1,000 software developers in the Convention Centre Dublin to demonstrate the impact and reach Python has made on everyday systems and services and the future uses of the programming language.Organisers are keen to assemble both experienced python developers and complete beginners curious about the application of the coding language.Vicky Twomey Lee, one of Dublin’s prominent community builders, who is part of the organising team responsible for bringing EuroPython to Ireland stated, “Like many great plans, the seeds of hosting this conference started in a pub after attending EuroPython in 2009 in the UK. Since 2010, we have held the annual Python Conference in Ireland and we’re ecstatic to finally welcome EuroPython to Dublin to celebrate the coding language.“Our goal in 2010 was to grow the Irish Python community and prepare to potentially host a large conference such as EuroPython. We’re really proud of the programme we have created for anyone interested in what Python can build.”The conference will feature 120 talk sessions in addition to 4 Keynotes, 20 tutorials, workshops and special events as well as other interactive sessions such as Posters, Helpdesks, Panel Discussions, Hackathons and a MakerFest.EuroPython aims to have a diverse programme, covering the many different aspects of where and how Python solves problems or engages in intriguing applications while hearing from groups such as Python Core Developers, DjangoGirls, TransCode and PyData.The conference will be organised in three phases:Monday & Tuesday (11.07 & 12.07): workshops and tutorialsWednesday – Friday (13.07 – 15.07): main conference daysSaturday & Sunday (16.07 & 17.07): sprints (hackathon)EuroPython has put significant work in keeping the in-person ticket prices at a similar level to the last in-person conference in 2019, despite cost increases and the consequences of the pandemic.The conference encourages and trusts attendees to pick a fair ticket tier that fits their personal circumstances. The money spent will be put straight back to the community to support its diversity initiatives, Financial Aid Programme and other grants offered to the European Python community.
