This weekend is a crazy one. We have four, count it four races on the calendar. First up is our only 140.6 race Ironman North American Championship Texas. The North American Championship is located in The Woodlands Texas just outside of Houston. The Woodlands is said to be the perfect race and pedestrian town making it ideal for Ironman.
Next up we have three Ironman 70.3 races starting with Ironman Ironman 70.3 St. Polten. Polten is unique in a few ways starting with the unique swim which takes place in two lakes. The bike course also features a ride on the local Highway.
Next up is Ironman 70.3 Chattanooga. Starting with the downstream swim in the Tennessee River Chattanooga is all fast. A quick out of town on the bike and onto a quick rolling hill loop and back into town. Finish it up with a loop run that takes in many of the local attractions Chattanooga is a great race.
Finally we have Ironman 70.3 Barcelona. Athletes start the day with a lap swim in the Mediterranean Sea before taking to the bike. The close road route takes racers back to the beach before heading out on the run and finishing the day.
Ironman University was announced today to bring more involvement and foster growth in the community. Starting at $599 or $699 after the limited time Ironman University is an online education and certification program that offers instruction to coaches and endurance athletes of both the Ironman and 70.3 race distances.
