In this special introductory episode of ‘It’s Cardiac Rehab!’ we hear all about cardiac rehab in Ireland. Anthony, our host, is joined by Deirdre O’Reilly, President of the Irish Association of Cardiac Rehab (IACR), who tells us what to expect from the classes. We also hear from Lucinda McNerney from the Irish Heart Foundation who explains about some of the resources that are available on the IHF’s website: www.irishheart.ie. Prof. John Horgan, gives us a little history on setting up Cardiac Rehab in Ireland in the 1980s.

Don’t just take our word on the benefits of cardiac rehab, listen to some of the people who have gone to the classes. We hear from Bernie, Declan, Duileach, James, Noel, Joe and Owen. A very big thank you to each of them for sharing their story.

It's Cardiac Rehab!

Welcome to It’s Cardiac Rehab podcast. This series is a collaboration between the Irish Association of Cardiac Rehabilitation and the Irish Heart Foundation supported by Servier Laboratories (Ireland) Ltd and focuses on the patient journey following a cardiac event. It is a podcast series where we discuss the patient’s journey through participation in Cardiac Rehabilitation Programmes following a cardiac event. This series comprises of six episodes, the podcast series features interviews with a range of medical experts and people who have attended cardiac rehab, to provide helpful insights on how to manage various aspects of their life after having a cardiac event. They also explain how participation in a cardiac rehabilitation programme supported their recovery.
