Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) are a popular fundraising method used primarily by startups wishing to offer products and services, usually related to the cryptocurrency and blockchain space. It is a form of crowdfunding, however private ICOs that don't seek public investments are also possible. In an ICO, cryptocurrency is sold in the form of tokens or coins similar to equity.
