moon. I'm so excited. I have no idea

what I'm doing, but I'm very, very excited about it.

So because of that, I've been hinting

about how much change. I've

been going through my personal life and my work

right? Someone who is here, wellness

who is, a change maker, a paradigm

shifter, and regardless to the packaging

of your business, you know that your

soul's calling has a deeper,

bigger meaning and, and message

and purpose, and you are channeling

that. Through your goods,

services, products and experiences,

right? Like, that's what I mean about conscious entrepreneurship.

It's the really the foundations

of my entire business and work. It's the reason

why I ever went into business because

I was helping so many people in business

and I not only help people

8:32

in business, but I have a business background. You know, those of you

guys who do not know, I went to school for advertising

and entrepreneurial marketing after leaving,

8:39

you know, trying to pursue graphic design

8:41

after. Leaving, trying

8:44

to pursue being a social worker. I was

8:46

like, you know what? I feel like I'm an

8:48

amazing designer and have a design eye. I

8:50

know I have a heart for people and

8:52

healing and transforming, and I'm spiritually

8:55

gifted, but I know that people

8:57

need business. People

need the structure of exchange to

9:03

build our communities, to build themselves up, to break

9:05

generational curses and patterns. Around

9:07

lack, um, identity challenges

9:10

and so on and so forth. Right. So my passion

9:12

about business has always been always,

9:15

and for a while, that's

9:18

all that people knew me for. They knew me to be a spiritually

9:20

gifted conscious strategist. in

9:23

the context of copywriting, in the context

9:25

of branding, in the context of sales and marketing

9:27

and business development. And

9:29

through that they would grow as

9:31

a human. I would see what ancestral

9:33

patterns and blocks were stopping them from their

9:35

abundance or showing up in their authority or being

9:37

clear about their offering or learning how to communicate

9:40

to others and all these different business challenges

9:42

we go through, um, that stop us from having

9:44

successful businesses. Right. So,

9:47

but what happened for those of you, just giving you a little

9:49

bit of the backstory. What happened

9:51

was the more that I worked with entrepreneurs and people

9:53

started learning more about my business

9:55

and what I did and how life changing

9:57

it was for them as an individual, as a person,

and how they saw themselves, but also in

10:02

their finances and in their business services.

Um, I started seeing that we

10:07

needed to do more healing. So for the past

10:09

couple years, I'm gonna say two or three years, we pivoted

10:11

to a lot more healing, a lot more personal

10:14

development. A lot of focusing on the

10:16

ancestral aspect and the authority

10:18

and initiating you into trusting your unique

10:20

path. Because what I know for sure,

10:22

the people who I work with and who are drawn

10:24

to me are the first in their families from

10:26

a very long time to step into

10:29

the power and the purpose that you are.

10:31

Right? And so because of that, entrepreneurship

in itself always comes with this

10:36

like, you know, Unchartered

10:38

territory feeling. Even if we partner with

10:40

other entrepreneurs, even if we go to the networking

10:42

events, even if we join the incubators,

10:44

there's still this like, this feels like a

10:46

lonely, challenging road. And

10:49

so if you add that you're spiritual or you're creative,

10:51

or you're the first in your family to do it, or you

10:53

know it's online now, and all these things,

10:55

it can feel really, really challenging and bring

10:57

up so many of your personal and ancestral stuff.

So, We focus on

healing for a while, and now I feel the full

11:05

circle moment of my

11:07

evolution to bring it all together, right?

We're gonna be re-centering business.

It's been very important to me,

especially as the economy quote unquote changes,

and I see so many people saying that they're

11:19

struggling or they're not in love with their work anymore as

11:21

I have been, right? And reinvigorating

11:24

our trust in our calling, our trust, in

11:26

our abundance, and our trust that our services

11:28

and products and vision is needed.

In the world. All right, so

that was our second intro. Back

to Business Basics. We are starting off

with a specific area

of business and based

11:44

on the intro and the background I just

shared, you're gonna understand why we

are starting off with a

segment inside of Spiritual B-School.

So Spiritual B-School is a program

I launched back in, I think 20 18, 20

19. So, that really focus

on how to do business from an

intuitive space. How

to do business from a soul's calling

perspective. How to do business with spirit

and intuition and God and

your, your spirits, right? Like

the unseen world. Your soul's

reason for being here. How to really balance

that realm and this physical

12:22

realm to serve people

12:24

incredibly and to receive and

12:27

abundantly right. As

I was seeing some of the, the struggles

and challenges of being a creator

or a spiritual entrepreneur, whether it's a spiritual

12:35

coach or just coaching world in general,

healers, you know, yogis like

12:40

shamans, um, just

12:42

anyone who was gifted, even therapists.

I have quite a few therapists who were trying to figure

12:47

out how to balance, their private

12:49

practice. Instead of being the

12:51

scapegoat or the, bottleneck

12:53

of failing systems, right? And them seeing

12:56

spiritually, energetically what's going on, but

12:58

also being, you know, held

13:00

accountable and kind of squeezed out by

13:03

their governing, institutions. Right? So

13:05

these are just some of the scenarios and. That's

13:07

why I created Spiritual B-School. it has

13:10

been available as a recording for some time,

but it is now time to come and revamp

13:14

it. And the very first section

of Spiritual B-School or even being

13:19

uh, intuitive, spiritually led,

spiritually held, spiritually

embodied and inspired entrepreneur

is that you have to brand,

you have to understand branding. And

again, based on my background, it makes sense

that we would start with branding. Now

you might have heard something different on the internet, and that's

completely fine. The reason why

I start with branding when

13:45

it comes to business basics is

13:48

because those of us who have a great

13:50

calling on our lives and wanna have impact

13:52

and have a community we wanna pour into and

13:54

see change happen on a personal

13:56

level, a systemic level,

13:58

like all of that. we are just called to a different

14:01

kind of energy and everything

14:03

that we're called to is based on who we truly are,

14:06

right? And who we're evolving into who we're becoming.

14:08

And your brand is gonna be an extension

14:11

of that, even if you birth a brand,

14:13

like a business name or a brand name,

14:15

and it's not about being a personal brand. The

14:18

beginnings of that business is going

14:20

to be from the fibers of your own energy.

You know those of you who are familiar

14:25

with human design when you

14:27

first birth your business, but it hasn't actually

14:30

been like, you know, LL seed

14:32

or you haven't done your articles of incorporation yet,

14:34

or any of those things, your

14:36

human design practitioner or even your astrologer

14:39

is going to use your birthday as the business's

14:41

birthday Until you establish

14:43

that business and it starts getting life breathe into

14:46

it and it starts developing energetically,

14:48

it's still gonna be off of your energy. This is the reason

14:50

why entrepreneurship, It

14:52

is so similar to conceiving

14:54

and birthing and nurturing a a baby,

14:57

and eventually it gets so big and it's its own entity

14:59

and you sell it or whatever you do, right? So

because of that, your business,

15:04

the brand, the thing that you represent when you

15:06

are starting, or even if you're down the line like I

15:08

am, it's gonna come off of your energy

15:10

nap first. Okay. Now

my business has taken on its own energy

15:14

and it has its own birthday, and I understand how it

15:16

works, and I know that my business is actually

15:19

much more masculine than I am. I'm more

15:21

of a balanced feminine, but my business

15:23

is a masculine business in the way that it holds

15:26

you guys as customers and clients, and also how

15:28

it holds me and how it shows up in the world,

15:30

even though I'm the spokesperson for it, right?

15:33

So, To give you guys some more context

around this, and compared to previous

15:37

episodes, you guys can feel right. Even

the energy that I'm delivering this

episode in is a hundred percent

in service to structure that Capricorn

energy, which is very prominent in

the chart and the energy of my business, right?

It's coming through to hold us and to guide us

and in the. Safety

of that structure and the directness of how

I'm guiding even this episode of

the business, right? With the context of the business,

we get to be in all of that creational energy, that

quote unquote feminine energy, that flow energy,

right? So a

long, long, long time ago, you guys all

know that. When I say that I'm going into storytelling

mode. I remember

16:15

being in college and one

16:18

of my sorority sisters, yes, fun

fact, I did pledge sorority, one of the Divine

nine Z five. I

had a sorority sister who was like hanging out,

on this thing called YouTube, and I was like, I don't

16:29

get it. This video's on the internet. Like I don't get

16:31

it. How do you just sit and watch a bunch of random

16:33

videos? Like why? Like is there a storyline?

16:35

Like, is there apartment? She's like, no, they're funny and I just didn't

16:37

get it. Like I was in college 2006

16:40

to 2009, right? Like that is the,

16:42

when YouTube came out and got popular

16:45

and I often bring up the story and

16:47

think about it because now when we watch

16:49

YouTube, you can. Create

16:52

a storyline. You can sell, you can do

16:54

ads, you can do targeting, you can do hashtags.

16:56

You can, build it in storylines. You can have

16:58

thumbnails, you can, do all

of this stuff with it, right? You can

17:03

have libraries and modules and batch them

17:05

into groups and all these things, and

17:07

people are doing YouTube videos with a strategy.

But back in the day, there was no strategy.

17:12

There was no strategy for Instagram.

17:14

There was no strategy with threads.

17:16

There still isn't, but it's, they're trying to, I'm like, it's

17:18

only four days old, y'all. And we're already

17:20

trying to strategize, like, can we just enjoy it for what

17:22

it's supposed to be before we ruin it?

17:25

Because as soon as we ruin it, then it's there for us to complain

17:27

that it's not what it used to be. But let me get off my

17:29

soapbox. This is, this is Us with social

17:31

media. Anyway, back, back, back, back, it

17:34

wasn't about strategy. And that's the

17:36

reason why I wanna talk about branding, because

17:38

at the core of branding, you've gotta start

17:41

with your truths, right?

17:43

It's not about looking at the marketplace

17:46

and then manipulating. Something,

17:49

a brand, a message to fit into

17:51

the marketplace. It is about coming into

17:53

your soul and to your purpose.

17:55

Getting clear on who you are and what message

17:58

you are here to bring as

the core truth inside of you, right?

And then you get to see where

18:04

that fits into the marketplace and build it up.

But the brand always starts with you. The business

18:09

brand always starts with you. You are

18:11

the brand. you are, it your, your

18:13

brand is the truth. Your truth is your brand. Okay?

And so there's a tipping point

when strategy takes over and

we lose track of our truth and we

18:23

lose our brand. And I feel

18:25

that I kind of started teetering into that on a personal

level. I was kind of like, well,

18:30

now that I've branded myself so much about

18:32

ancestral healing, people have forgotten

18:34

about business. They've forgotten about. Getting

18:36

conviction of your path. They forgot about

18:38

stepping into your womanhood. They forgot about

18:41

all these different aspects of who I

18:43

am, right and

18:45

what I'm here to serve. And the bigger picture of this

18:47

work, because I've gotten so far

18:49

into the strategy of ancestral healing, I

18:51

need to get outta the niche and

18:53

widen that. Widen the aperture here for

18:56

us to look at the bigger picture of my calling

18:58

and my ways that I desire to serve and what

God in spirit is telling me. And

19:02

so it's so interesting cause I have so many people who are coming

19:04

to me being like, I listened to this podcast episode,

19:07

you know, two, three years ago and you're talking about

19:09

ancestors and I'm so ready or even six months ago

19:11

and I'm so interested. And I'm, and she's like, or

19:13

they're like, you're not even talking about that anymore. And I'm

19:15

like, right, cuz that was a major

19:17

aspect in this work, but it's not the only work.

And I accidentally but totally

19:22

rightful for what was happening in the world and. The

initiation I was going through and the fact that

19:27

I'm one of the people who really put ancestral

19:29

healing on the map, you know, in the way that I did

19:32

that was necessary for the world and it was

19:34

necessary for me and now it's necessary

19:36

for me to widen and bring us into

19:38

the bigger picture of the brand. Okay, so

just an example of we can over

19:43

strategize in our branding and

19:45

get so niche down and so specific

19:48

that we over control ourselves

19:50

into a position that we're not supposed to be. Okay. That's

19:53

the reason why we're starting off the

19:55

in your truth. All right,

so before you can get

into a product offering

or a service or all of

20:07

these other things, you have to know who you are, and

that's the brand. Who you are is the

brand. And you can

evolve that and you can start to

add other energies to that. So

it can be an entity that stands on its own, but it's

always gonna come from the foundational pieces,

the sticks and the stones, the bones

20:25

of what you're here to do is off of your energy and your

20:27

calling. That's

20:29

because it's based on what you are here to be.

It's based on what you're here to represent, and

20:34

your brand is also based on what you're here to share

20:37

with the world. From there,

your product or service will be born on

20:41

solid, solid grounds, and

20:43

you do iterations. As I'm doing right now,

I'm in a season of iterating, right, of

20:48

moving through a transformation and now being able

20:51

to rebuild my foundation

20:53

on where I am going. Now that we've hit

a couple plateaus in my journey, okay.

So one of the biggest

transitions slash

mistakes we make when it comes to

21:06

branding, and I'm gonna talk about this

from a professional, traditionally

21:10

trained brand strategist, like

21:13

professionally trained degreed,

21:15

brand strategist, and also from, A

21:18

embodied personal experience of guiding

21:20

people and running my own brand

21:23

and so on and so forth. But the biggest transition

21:25

and mistake we make is and

21:27

I did this right, so I'm talking from experience

21:30

is making the mistake of

21:32

not translating branding for Bicks

21:34

box brands. So those of you know

21:36

I, I've worked for the Googles Bacardi,

21:39

Miller, Coors. Sephora,

21:41

Unilever. I've done stuff for Ax Body

21:43

Spray. I'm trying to think of some other

21:46

brands that I've worked for. I've done,

21:48

um, Allstate, I've done

21:51

State Farm. I've worked in a lot

21:53

of big, you know, multi

21:55

billion dollar brands, right? So

21:58

translating what I understand from a big box

brand perspective, I see this a lot

22:02

with. Heads up, like I'm giving you guys like a little tip

here. Um, if you're in business and someone

22:06

is trying to sell you that they can do

22:09

social media branding or branding for you because

22:11

they worked for Nike or they worked at

22:13

big agencies and they're trying to charge you a

22:15

huge number, but they don't understand

22:17

how to translate that big box thinking

22:20

into small business thinking and

22:22

definitely small business online, it is different.

22:25

It is a hundred percent different. So watch out

22:27

for that. If you are looking to hire an

22:29

agency or a consultant or someone who's

22:31

now a social media strategist, but they worked at some

22:33

other agency, like make sure that they

22:35

are understanding the

22:37

transition it takes to build a brand as a

22:39

small business, because that doesn't just translate over

22:42

It will eventually, but when they first

22:44

leave, it does not. So

22:47

make sure they have examples of showing how they

22:49

took their wisdom from big box and then

22:51

applied it to small business and the results

22:54

thereafter. Very, very important. The

22:57

other biggest transition and mistake I see when it

22:59

comes to branding is not understanding

the difference between branding for your

23:03

market position. So establishing

23:05

your brand, your business, your purpose,

23:07

your mission, your reason for being.

23:10

in the marketplace online,

23:12

in the eyes of consumers or in the eyes

23:14

of businesses. If you are business to business

23:16

business, if you're a

23:18

business to consumer business, then you would be

23:21

marketing and branding in the eyes of regular

23:23

humans, right? so the difference between doing

23:25

that and then the difference between branding for

23:27

consumer understanding, which leads

23:29

to sales, and I wanna talk about that a little

23:31

bit more. To say this

23:34

differently, branding to differentiate

23:36

yourself versus branding to market

23:38

and to sell and make people understand

23:40

a concept are different practices.

23:42

It's a different context, and

23:45

sometimes this matters and sometimes it doesn't. Like

if you're just into storytelling

23:50

and you can. Easily have a knack

23:52

for putting a story in the context of who

23:54

the buyer is gonna be, and you can do

23:56

that in a way that keeps establishing your

23:58

brand and business for a reason, then

you're amazing. But most times these

24:02

are two separate practices. What

24:04

does my brand and business stand for? What

24:06

are my key key that I say? What are the key

24:09

communication buckets that are important to know?

What are all the different ways off the top of my head,

I know how to say those key things. And

then translating that specifically

24:18

to how I talk to you. Everyday

people. Everyday consumers or everyday

business that's gonna be buying from my brand

and buying from my my business, which that second

24:27

one is what leads you into marketing

messages, right? So, So

I have a, and I'm, I'm like basically teaching

But like there is your brand overarching

reason for being. It's the big why. It's

the who you are, the big why and the big who,

which you guys have been around me enough. I

always say who and then the y.

and then underneath that you end up

having many brands or many things
