In this episode David tells us about how he grew up climbing in an adventurous family, then how he went on to become a certified IFGMA guide at the young age of 23. He tells us about the mentors that he had as a younger alpinist and how they influenced him into becoming a performance mountain athlete that focuses on climbing some of the worlds highest mountains without supplementary oxygen.
David gives us some great insights as how he trains both physically and mentally for these, as well as how he deals with the failures that come hand in hand with high Himalayan objectives. We finish up the chat talking a little about paragliding and how he see’s that fitting in with his future plans. I really enjoyed listening to David, he has a wonderful outlook and is a real inspiration.
