Who am I?
The universal and sometimes haunting question starts with how we identify ourselves. At first glance, we may identify with our physical features, culture or race, personality, values and beliefs, sexuality and relational roles. We fashion our identity through life experience, new interests, societal demands, and the inevitable personal crisis. But how much of our identity is our own making and how much of it is predetermined?
How do we express who we think we are when it conflicts with how others define us?
How does your identity shift as your self-concept and awareness grow?
Does our identity provide us a sense of belonging or does it inhibit our ability to connect with others?
In this 2-part series, JAYA explores the many facets of identity. Due to the complexity and depth of this topic, we're dedicating two episodes to it.
