A few of the best bits from the hunting episodes of season four.
We start off with a father/son grouse hunting trip into both the boreal forest and familiar farmland around our home. The hunting was tough, but whenever that occurs, it presents an opportunity for some good hunting stories by Dad. Stories of good dogs and near-miss hunting accidents.
From the grouse brush, we head down into the grasslands of the Canadian prairies. We're still focused on birds, but this time you get to listen in as Kevin successfully stalks a flock of Sandhill Cranes in a field! Spot and stalk crane on the menu as a unique wild food ingredient!
After the bird hunting is over, Kevin and I find ourselves back in the wolf-willows and scrub brush of that same prairie landscape. We are after mule deer now. Join me and my pounding heart as the biggest muley buck of my life makes a critical mistake on morning one of our hunt, and then Kevin connects with his target animal, a doe.
Wild food ingredients and how to acquire them!
