With the Kent pick in the NFL

0:09

Draft, The Philadelphia Eagle.

0:11

Twickt you're listening to the

0:13

Journey to the Draft podcast.

0:17

Welcome to the Journey of the Draft podcast. I'm your host,

0:19

Fran Duffy. In the twenty twenty three NFL Draft

0:21

is over. Just like that, the journey for

0:23

twenty twenty three is in the books. That said,

0:25

We've still got a lot to talk about here for

0:27

this draft class. We're gonna go through what the Eagles did

0:30

on Day three as they make a big

0:32

trade at the top of the fourth round. They go

0:34

and they get Georgia cornerback Kaylee Ringo. They

0:36

make a trade for a veteran running back, DeAndre

0:38

Swift. They acquire Tanner McKee, the quarterback

0:41

from Stanford in the sixth round, and then

0:43

in round seven, right towards the end of the draft, they nab

0:45

Texas defensive lineman Moro a

0:47

Jomo. A lot to talk about, a

0:49

lot to break down. I'm really excited about all four

0:52

of these editions, and here to help me do that

0:54

is Dame Brugler and Ben Fender. We're gonna break

0:56

it all down with both of those guys. They're still out

0:58

in Kansas City on the scene at the draft.

1:00

Let's get into it now for Draft buzz.

1:05

Now it's time for Draft buzz.

1:09

All right, let's jump into Day three here of the twenty

1:11

twenty three NFL Draft, as we welcome in Dane Brugler

1:13

and Ben Fennel and guys. The start of the Day three.

1:16

It was really fun because we had a flurry of trades

1:18

right before the draft started. Dan three

1:20

trades right at the top, the Saints moving in, the

1:22

Raiders moving in, the Eagles moving in third picking

1:24

around before a pick was even made. You and I

1:26

were texting. He was like, oh, what could the Eagles be doing here? And

1:28

it ends up being Kaylee Ringo, the corner

1:30

that a lot of people had as a first round type

1:32

player potentially early day two. He

1:34

ends up falling into the early stages of Day three,

1:37

and the Eagles get another Georgia Bulldog on.

1:39

Defense, another Georgia Bulldog

1:41

that fell further than should.

1:43

Have where we thought he'd go.

1:45

Regardless of what you think about Khilley Ringo watching

1:47

his tape, I mean, he is a raw player, there's

1:50

no question about that. But there's

1:52

just not many humans walking around that are six

1:54

two, two hundred and ten pounds, have that type of speed.

1:57

I offer that the package of skills that he

1:59

offers, and so it's very surprising

2:01

that he slipped through the first three rounds,

2:04

and you know, obviously for the Eagles

2:07

to use the next year's three to

2:09

go up and get him says quite a bit

2:11

about what they thought. You know, this morning kind of looking

2:13

at my best available and keey ringos just

2:16

he's flashing in red lights

2:18

like why am I still here? Texting people

2:20

around the league, just heying, hey, is this you know, a shoulder?

2:23

Is this a knee? We don't know about? And I got

2:25

back no medical tax for us, Nope,

2:27

nope, he's cleaned for us. Thumbs up from US,

2:29

and so it wasn't a medical issue.

2:31

It is just simply a guy that is very

2:33

talented, but as a football player, he's

2:36

still very raw. And we have to remember he's

2:38

a true junior red shirt

2:40

soft. Yeah, you know, he's

2:42

played a lot of football. He started the last two years,

2:45

but you know, still you can see how

2:47

raw and unpolished he is, especially

2:49

reading routes and understanding what

2:52

offenses are trying to do. And so it

2:54

will take time, but he's going to a situation where

2:56

he won't be pressed into duty from day one. He

2:58

can sit learn, you take swings

3:01

on players with this type of talent and

3:03

traits, and so get him

3:05

at this point he was my thirty six overall player.

3:07

To get him seventy picks later, tremendous

3:10

value.

3:11

Yeah, I mean, at the end of the day, it's like you mentioned you

3:13

at six two hundred and fifteen pounds

3:15

with four to three speed, Like, there aren't a lot of

3:17

guys that are twenty one years old entering

3:19

the draft two years starting for one of the

3:21

best defenses in college football history. That's

3:24

just a profile that is tough to find.

3:26

And Ben especially, I think you and I like had

3:28

those conversations back in the fall, you know when

3:30

we see like Tarik Woollen come into the NFL

3:32

and have some immediate success out in

3:34

Seattle, and it's like, oh, like what do we miss And it's like, well,

3:37

you know, like this guy had great traits, he was just

3:39

kind of a raw football player fell to the fourth round.

3:41

It's a little bit of a different story. He was a receiver

3:44

at a lower level of competition, moves over to corner

3:46

late but with Ringo and that that's just a profile,

3:48

especially early in the fourth round, that you're

3:51

willing to bet on.

3:52

Yeah, I think that's what Day three is all about, you know, taking

3:54

calculated risk and kind of betting on the upside

3:56

of players. And what better upside than

3:58

a twenty year old corner out of the University

4:00

of Georgia back to back national championship.

4:03

That's two hundred and ten pounds a running.

4:05

The four threes.

4:06

What a great couple of boxes to check as far

4:08

as projecting forward and taking a gamble

4:10

and maybe giving up some future capital to do

4:13

it. And I love the Eagles trying to solidify

4:15

their depth this offseason, from adding

4:17

Greedy Williams to the undrafted

4:19

free agent and Josh Jobs last year. I

4:21

love that they have a type and I feel like Ringo,

4:24

Greedy Job, they really fit the

4:26

type that's in front of them at the starters, Darius

4:28

Slay and Bradbury, big physical corners

4:30

that can turn and run and play man to man. I

4:32

think every pick kind of embodies their types.

4:35

You know, Nolan Smith, Daniel Jeremiah's

4:37

number one comp I'm sure a cop from one of you guys

4:39

too, hasan Reddick. You know, they're just

4:41

kind of really fitting what they're looking

4:43

for through certain positions in solidifying

4:46

depth. And here in Philadelphia, we know depth

4:48

gets tested and it's non excuse to

4:51

not compete. So we're going to make sure the backups are

4:53

ready to play. And this is one of those rosters

4:55

that's always ready to play through second

4:57

and third strings. And I think Kealey ring

5:00

Go, being a fourth round pick, he better be

5:02

ready to play too. And I think it's an exciting proposition

5:04

and I'm glad he has some comfortability with all

5:06

the other Georgia guys on the roster to

5:09

make him feel at home.

5:10

And it's important to note too, the Eagles did not trade

5:12

up to take Kaylee Ringo.

5:13

They traded in to that slot.

5:15

They used a third round pick next year

5:18

in twenty twenty four to get that

5:20

spot from the Houston Texans here in

5:22

the beginning part of the fourth round. Now sitting here

5:24

watching this unfold with Ross Tucker and

5:26

Ross made a great point is that, obviously you're the Eagles,

5:28

you're hoping that you're picking towards the end of round

5:31

three. This was at the top of round

5:33

four, and so essentially like you're getting

5:35

giving a pick that's basically the same. Even

5:37

if the Eagles like somehow, you know, don't go

5:39

deep into the NFC or go back to the super

5:41

Bowl. And this is a middle of the third round pick, that's

5:43

still a really good gamble to be able to make

5:46

on such a talented player in Ringo. Ben

5:48

Real quickly just bounce this back to you, give a quick elevator

5:50

speech just on Ringo like as a player, because

5:52

we've talked about the profile, but if you could

5:54

just get into like strengths, weaknesses what you saw from him

5:56

on tape.

5:57

Well, a big physical corner that can play

5:59

press man. He likes to get up in your face, a

6:01

little tight in the lower half, and I think that's

6:03

what shows up in his transitions on tape.

6:05

And can get beat vertically at times,

6:07

can be late to find the ball at times, but he's

6:10

really tough to get space on. I

6:12

think he beats you up on the underneath stuff, the quick

6:14

game. It's the turning and running that was

6:16

hot and cold. You know, I could show you a play that beautiful

6:19

pressman coverage against Tennessee walling

6:21

off a vertical catching the ball, or you

6:23

know, a pick six or an interception a National

6:26

Championship game to seal it, and then you can find

6:28

a play against Florida and Anthony Richardson

6:30

dropping one in the bucket to Justin Shorter. Just

6:32

a little bit inconsistent play, but

6:34

he tested out of this world and

6:37

have some technique things to work on. But

6:39

you take chances on these types of players.

6:41

My comp actually might surprise you, guys,

6:43

was Ronald bartel O Ada Howard

6:46

was very similar heightweight, speed was about

6:48

six two, two hundred and ten pounds, ran

6:50

the low four fours, might have sniffed four threes

6:52

of the combine, I don't remember, but was a second

6:55

round pick. And Ringo goes a little bit

6:57

further, and I think you just want to take risks on these types

6:59

of corners. Really good ball skills

7:01

and man, this cornerback room is big

7:03

and they're physical, and I love the challenge

7:05

they're going to provide to the receiver room through

7:08

training camp, through practices with aj

7:10

Brown, DeVante Smith, and the plethora of

7:12

weapons to kind of combat those guys.

7:14

And if Ringo ends up being a safety

7:17

at the end of the day, that's okay too. This

7:19

is a high level player that's smart from

7:21

a championship program. These are the people

7:23

you fill out the depth and your roster with.

7:26

So yeah, you add a Bulldog there in Keey

7:28

Ringo, the fourth or of the third Bulldog

7:30

of the weekend, and then the Eagles go and they trade for veteran

7:32

running back DeAndre Swift, another former

7:35

Bulldog of Philadelphia native who played at

7:37

Saint Joe's Prep Dame. It's been a few

7:39

years since you evaluated DeAndre Swift, Ben,

7:41

you and I obviously have watched them a lot more recently.

7:43

But a big addition here, again, especially

7:45

in a running back class where you saw some names

7:47

go off the board there by the time you got to the early

7:50

part of Day three. So adding a guy like Swift

7:52

for essentially, I mean you have swapped seventh

7:54

round picks and I think it was a fourth round pick

7:56

in twenty twenty five, so we're going a

7:58

couple of years out now again like a nice

8:01

value addition for this Seagles team.

8:04

Yeah, no doubt, And people forget

8:06

he was the number one running back for a lot of people

8:08

in that draft that also included Jonathan

8:10

Taylor and Clyn Edwards, Alaire JK.

8:13

Dobbins.

8:13

It was a really deep group there, at

8:15

the top, and he was a really productive

8:17

player in college. He averaged six

8:20

point five six I believe it was yards

8:22

per carry in college and that's at the school

8:24

record. So this is a guy that's a

8:26

patient athlete. He can make guys miss,

8:29

the way he picks, slides, jukes,

8:32

able to work his way through the line of scrimmage and

8:34

then get to the second level. The big question

8:36

I thought coming out of Georgia was what does he

8:39

give you in the passing game as both a

8:41

pass catcher and a blocker, and so needs

8:43

to be more consistent there. I think that maybe

8:45

some of the frustration in Detroit didn't really

8:48

develop in those areas as much as they thought

8:50

he would. But his ability to make defenders

8:52

miss and just that instincts as

8:55

a ballcarrier that he brings to the field of dynamic

8:57

feet, the way he can string moves together

8:59

that start stop acceleration that

9:01

he has. I mean, it's something that still shows.

9:04

And to get him for that type of

9:06

package, that type of value, that's really

9:08

a no brainer, and you can bet that

9:11

he's gonna be motivated. This is I believe

9:13

it's final year of his deal as rookie deal, and

9:16

so he has a chance to really show out now

9:18

at a place.

9:20

And I think it's important to note this guy just turned twenty

9:22

four years old. You know, I think he has a lot

9:24

of football ahead of him. There's a lot of promise and upside

9:26

still ahead of him. And the big question

9:29

is why fall out of favor Detroit? Why

9:31

do they take Gibbs? Why did they go get David Montgomery?

9:34

Just remember completely different regime

9:36

that brought him in. And I think they're turning over

9:38

the roster as far as guys, they prefer in

9:41

some positional value and maybe

9:43

some favoritism here and there. We saw Jeffrey Akuda

9:45

traded a month or two ago. Swift

9:48

was the next expected to be kind of on his

9:50

way out there. And remember hard Knocks

9:52

last year. Douce Stale, a huge

9:54

advocate of DeAndre Swift due passionately

9:57

told the coaching staff, guys, I've been around a lot

9:59

of backs my life. This kid is

10:01

special. Well, Duce Staley

10:03

was one of his big supporters who's now in Carolina

10:05

as the assistant head coach. So DeAndre

10:08

Swift suddenly lost some supporters in that front

10:10

office, in the coaching staff, tons of talent,

10:13

tons of upside, twenty four years

10:15

old, coming back home here to Philadelphia

10:17

again. These are the players you take chances on.

10:19

And I think Howie not only looking at the draft

10:22

board, but looking around the league in

10:24

players that maybe are falling out

10:26

of favor in their situation and finding great

10:28

values to take chances on. I think that's

10:30

DeAndre Swift. I don't know if we need to evaluate

10:33

his previous three years in Detroit. You

10:35

know, their team was up and down. Swift

10:37

has been up and down. He's had some bumbles, he's had

10:39

some heartbreaking drops in the past game been

10:41

about fifty catches a year. So he's a great dual

10:43

threat back, dual threat presence

10:45

for this offense. When it's all said and done,

10:47

guys could end up being running back one on

10:49

this team. You know, he brought in for Shad Penny

10:51

and there's kind of a new era in the backfield. Gain Well

10:54

is going to get a bigger role. But I think it's open

10:56

season for somebody to grab the bull

10:58

by the horns in this backfield and say

11:00

I'm the guy and I'm excited to see how this plays

11:03

out in training camp.

11:04

Yeah, I think when you talk about like his skill set,

11:06

he definitely has that kind of upside, right Ben,

11:08

I think this is a guy that is his best

11:11

out in space, whether it's perimeter runs you

11:13

get him on, like those draws and traps and whams.

11:15

You remember some of those big runs he had against the Eagles

11:17

back in Week one last year where they were able to get him

11:19

up to the second level, and that's where he can do work

11:21

against linebackers and safeties in space. That's

11:23

where he excels certainly in the past game as

11:26

well, whether it's screen game designed one on

11:28

one routes out of the backfield, you can move him around

11:30

the formation. Detroit did that with success these

11:32

last couple of years. So an interesting addition certainly

11:35

to this Eagles offense. Let's talk about

11:37

one more offensive addition here. The Eagles in the

11:39

sixth round selecting Stanford quarterback Tanner

11:41

McKee and Dan this is a guy that go

11:43

back to like last summer, he was in Round one mock drafts

11:45

right there. There are a lot of people that are really high on McKee

11:48

coming into the year and one of the better pure

11:50

like pocket passers pocket managers

11:52

in this class. Obviously lacking from like an

11:54

athleticism and like playmaking dimension.

11:57

But this is a guy who knows how to play.

11:58

The position, really accurate player.

12:00

And you know, he's a little bit taller,

12:03

and I think that there are some teams that don't like

12:05

those taller quarterbacks. Not a

12:07

great track record of guys that are six six

12:09

and above making plays the position,

12:11

and that that matters to some teams. But you know, I

12:13

think when you watch his film, you see a guy that, even

12:16

though he doesn't have that mobility like

12:18

you mentioned, to escape trouble and

12:20

extend the pocket and things like

12:22

that, he when he sits in the pocket and

12:24

makes plays downfield, it looks like NFL

12:27

football, the way he uses the middle of the field, the way

12:29

he can layer the ball in between coverages,

12:31

use the tight end, use his receivers.

12:34

That Stanford offense was a tough watch.

12:35

The last two years, not just because

12:38

of the quarterback, and I want to put that on the key

12:40

more because of the blocking wasn't

12:42

up to what we have come to expect from Stanford

12:44

football. The play calling was a mystery. They

12:46

didn't have that Belkoal running back. You know, we

12:48

had two receivers drafted from Stanford

12:51

this year, but Wilson was always hurt Higgins.

12:53

They should have used him better. Tanner McKee, I

12:55

understand why a team looks at him

12:58

and says, hey, there's this is a guy we like.

13:00

We think there's NFL ability here.

13:02

And again, it comes back to the accuracy. When

13:05

you can work the middle of the field like he does

13:07

and hit your tight end down the field on

13:09

a seam route in between the safety and the linebacker.

13:12

But you know you're doing it with timing, You're doing it

13:14

with an understanding of what the defense

13:16

is trying to do to you. So, Tanner McKee,

13:19

at that point it draft especially, I graded him

13:21

as a fifth round pick. You're able to get him in the

13:23

sixth, you know, I certainly understand

13:25

why the Eagles will take that swing, even though quarterback

13:28

not at the top of the list of priorities.

13:31

Yeah, and fran I think I remember watching his tape over the

13:33

summer with you and some of his best ball that's

13:36

so Matt Ryan flashes you know at times,

13:38

you know.

13:38

Yeah, the way he the way he carries

13:41

himself, the way that he like drops

13:43

back, like his like the way

13:45

like his ball carriage and his release. It's it

13:47

looks like obviously it's a different. I mean, Matt Ryan was

13:49

a third overall pick right.

13:50

Like the aesthetics, the ball

13:53

handling, the size, the poise

13:55

and fairly accurate. A lot of this stuff off play

13:58

action. Love the way he hit Benjamin EuroSec tight

14:00

end over the middle, went back, complicated

14:02

career though, you know, just turned twenty three two

14:04

days ago, went on the mission of Brazil.

14:07

So he's an older red shirt

14:09

sophomore, which is kind of rare. With the turbulence

14:11

in the program, the coaching staff. Everything

14:13

Dane highlighted absolutely is true.

14:16

I mean, Elijah Higgins was announced as a tight

14:18

end today with Denver. You know, it just wasn't

14:20

the skill set of explosive playmakers you

14:23

wanted at your disposal. People were begging

14:25

for him to go back, but with the age

14:27

and the turnover, with the roster and the coaching

14:29

and the turbulence in the program, he wanted

14:31

to move on. But I think a Tanner McKee being

14:34

a six round pick, which it pains me to see

14:36

a Redchert sophomore be a six round pick, or Luke

14:38

Whippler going late in the draft. Want those guys

14:40

you go early because they're really betting on themselves.

14:42

This guy's a perfect candidate as like a scout

14:45

team practice squad guy, So don't

14:47

need to thrust him into Hey you need to

14:49

compete to be the backup this year. It's a

14:51

really good piece and he's a little bit of a you

14:54

know, beta to some alphas that they have in

14:56

the quarterback room. And I don't know if that was the right analogy,

14:59

but the Mary Yotas and Ian Books and

15:01

Jalen Hurts all embodied the same type of skill

15:03

set. Tanner McKee might be the Daniel

15:05

Jones on the scout team, you know when we played the Giants

15:08

twice a year. So I think he brings just a

15:10

little bit different style as well, which

15:12

is going to challenge the defensive backs, going to

15:14

challenge the receivers just to play

15:16

and get comfortable with a different type of quarterback.

15:18

And I'm excited to diversify

15:21

position groups as much as on defense. We like

15:23

to find those cookie cutter backups. Offense,

15:26

it's all about field and that basketball team, diversifying

15:29

your weapons, diversifying your scout team,

15:31

making sure your team is ready to go in different

15:33

areas. So I like to pick up in the sixth

15:35

round.

15:36

These are the.

15:36

Types to take a chance on.

15:38

So let me tell you both.

15:39

I was we were in studio getting ready

15:41

to go live for one of the drafts ends the Eagles had

15:43

to pick towards the end of the seventh round, and

15:45

when it came across my phone that the Eagles

15:47

were drafting Texas defensive tackle Moro

15:50

A. Jomo, I like stood up and threw a fist bump.

15:52

I thought that was an outstanding selection in

15:54

the seventh round. Its just an outstanding profile

15:57

to bet on Dan. You did a great job of kind of outlining

15:59

his background and the beast. I'll let you kind

16:01

of set the table for just from a like a

16:04

background standpoint, like Moro Jomo on

16:06

his journey to the NFL.

16:07

Yeah, he was born in Nigeria. That's

16:10

where he grew up.

16:11

His parents were missionaries,

16:13

his father's a pastor, and when

16:15

he was seven years old, they moved to California. They

16:18

locate to Texas and somewhere along

16:20

the way he learned about this game called

16:22

football. And he's a young player, one

16:24

of the youngest players in for he's

16:26

a fifth year player at Texas, but he's still

16:29

just twenty one years old. The way Nigeria

16:31

does it he started school two years earlier

16:33

than they usually do here in the States, and so for

16:36

a five year player to only be twenty one years

16:38

old, you know, he's still young in football.

16:40

Years as well.

16:41

He was a not a top recruit, but

16:43

a guy that teams really because he played

16:46

at a big program in Katie, Texas, and

16:48

once teams kind of really figured it out,

16:50

like this college program's figured out, like, hey, this

16:52

guy's a late bloomer.

16:54

He's still young even though he's a senior.

16:56

He really came on late in the process, goes to Texas,

16:59

and he really settled in nicely. The production

17:01

doesn't jump out at you. He wasn't a big sack guy.

17:04

I know some people even liked his teammate Kendra

17:06

Coburn better as a prospect. But when

17:08

you look at a player six y three, just over two

17:10

hundred ninety pounds, still twenty one years old,

17:12

really long player, thirty four and a half inch

17:15

arms, there's traits here to work with

17:17

that you know, you could really get excited about. And

17:19

so I'm surprised he lasted him the

17:21

seventh, but I'm with you, it is a terrific

17:23

pick because you know, I think he's stout versus

17:26

a run. I think when you have length and

17:28

the play strength that he offers, you have pass

17:30

rush potential, So you want

17:32

to use him inside.

17:33

You can use them a little bit outside too.

17:34

I think there's a lot you could do with a JOEMO

17:37

and a great depth edition, but more

17:39

than just a depth edition, you feel like there's upside

17:41

here as well.

17:42

Fran this is like that Texas

17:44

program from the previous era where they weren't

17:47

winning a lot of games, but there's just so much talent.

17:49

I love seeing Demarvin Overshown get himself

17:51

drafted Coburn, and then obviously

17:53

Moro here coming to Philadelphia. These

17:56

guys have so much ability. Obviously,

17:58

the change in coaching staff and the defensive side

18:00

of Texas I think set some of those developments

18:03

back with those players. But that previous era

18:05

where they weren't winning a lot of games but producing.

18:07

You know, Jordan Hicks and Malcolm Brown and

18:09

Quandre Diggs and all these NFL players,

18:12

but they're winning five games a year under Charlie Strong.

18:14

They're recruiting their butts off. These guys

18:16

have tons of upside, tons of ability,

18:19

tons of potential, and I really

18:21

think Moro embodies the

18:23

Milton Williams style, just without

18:26

the freak show testing Now, Milton tested

18:28

off the charts. Milton's was a darling obviously

18:30

at the Combine and his pro day and in testing. I

18:32

think Moro is a little bit more of a blue

18:34

collar type of player three tech, five tech,

18:37

type of hybrid inside out, real hard charging

18:39

guy can get into backfields. But you don't

18:41

know what is you know, what is one

18:44

a trade?

18:44

Is you know?

18:45

Is it is a freak atholetic ability? Is it

18:47

his ability just to play the run, his ability

18:49

to be versatile, that's okay. I love

18:52

the versatility on the defensive line

18:54

room, I love the length. And he's played some good

18:56

football, you know. I think the Alabama game

18:58

this year, he saw some flashes of good. He saw

19:00

some flashes are bad, and let's hope we can keep

19:02

building on that good. And I really think he embodies

19:05

z Jalen Carter, Milton

19:07

Williams type of three tech that could also play

19:09

some other spots.

19:11

Yeah, I mean this is a guy to me.

19:13

You know, the reason I get so excited about it is that

19:15

he's got thirty four and a half inch arms.

19:17

He looks the party.

19:18

I remember being down on the field at the combine and

19:21

watching the defensive line and go through workouts the very

19:23

first day out in Indy and look at this, I'd

19:25

be like, mat, look at this, look at

19:27

how he is put together, so so impressive.

19:29

And then he had one of the better positional workouts out

19:31

in Indianapolis. The testing like on its

19:33

face, like the raw numbers were fine, but then

19:35

you look at like the relative athletics score, the

19:37

work that math Bomb does over on his website,

19:40

the end of RIS of nine point one six, which is a

19:42

good number. Right, So an athletic kid

19:44

really long, twenty one years old you mentioned,

19:46

you know, the age and the experience. The production

19:49

obviously not there, right, only five career sacks.

19:51

But then when you dive into some of like the PFF metrics,

19:54

you look at his pass rush win rate. It was eighteen

19:56

percent on regular downs. It was twenty

19:58

four point one percent on third

20:01

down. This is a guy that can get after the quarterback.

20:03

Both those numbers are in the ninetieth plus percentile.

20:05

You look at his ability against the run, thirty percent

20:08

of his rundowns regraded positively by

20:10

PFF. That is in the ninetieth plus percentile

20:12

of all defensive tackles drafted since PFF

20:15

has started charting these guys, Like a lot of these numbers

20:17

are really really impressive from a metrics

20:20

standpoint, a Jomo and so when you're saying, okay,

20:22

like young, athletic, long

20:24

and graded out well from make like an

20:27

analytics standpoint, just didn't put up the crazy

20:29

like raw production numbers again, Like that's

20:31

a really good gamble in the seventh round.

20:34

And honestly, like if you're gonna put him up against

20:36

another guy that you would say is like kind of in that

20:38

same bucket of like really highly athletic,

20:40

developmental interior alignment, who's

20:42

got some versatility. He's taller

20:45

and longer than out of Tommy woa Ata

20:47

bare Right, who everybody was loving obviously

20:49

coming out of the combine, you know, and he fell to Day

20:51

three of the draft. But just comparing the two profiles,

20:54

like he's longer, he's played more football,

20:56

He's arguably I would say he's been the production

20:58

has been pretty similar on like a down to down basis,

21:01

This is a kid that is you can get them three rounds

21:03

later. Just a really impressive profile, really

21:05

exciting look at what this kid could be.

21:07

So I'm excited about the addition there

21:09

of Moro, a Jomo factor. I'm in with all

21:11

these other guys that we've talked about over these last

21:13

three days. A really impressive haul here from

21:15

the Philadelphia Eagles guys. I appreciate the

21:18

time as always here on the Journey of the Draft

21:20

Podcast.

21:20

We'll be talking to both of you here this week.

21:22

Safe travels home, and we'll talk to you soon

21:24

here on the Journey of the Draft podcast. All

21:27

right, good stuff there from both Ben and Dane.

21:30

A lot to break down here from

21:32

the twenty twenty three NFL Draft. We did it

21:34

for the Eagles over these last three days. Obviously, if you're

21:36

an Eagles fan listening and you have not listened

21:38

to all of it, you go back on the feed and check out

21:40

the previous two episodes. If you are not an

21:42

Eagles fan and you're excited to get more of

21:45

our analysis throughout the course of the entire draft,

21:47

we're gonna be doing that over the next few weeks, not only

21:50

what teams did the players they got, but just what it

21:52

means from a team building standpoint, from a philosophy

21:54

standpoint, what it says about the evaluation

21:57

in this draft class as a whole. We're gonna have lots

21:59

of really instructive conversations over

22:01

these next few weeks and continue breaking down

22:03

this class.

22:04

And guess what, it's not too far away.

22:06

We're like a few weeks away from our twenty

22:08

twenty three college football season

22:10

preview as well. We're going to go conference by conference

22:13

with both Ben and Dane and talk about the top

22:15

players. So if you want to get ready for who the top

22:17

players are going to be next year, don't worry. We're starting

22:19

that journey here in just a few weeks. That

22:21

said, stay tuned me back later this week breaking

22:24

down the rest of the NFL Draft right

22:26

here on the Journey of the Draft podcast
