Now, I just want to start off by making it clear that I am not a relationship expert. The purpose of this episode isn't to tell people what is right and what doesn't work in each and every romantic relationship in the world. It is simply a sharing session! After speaking with friends, family and my loved one, Adam, I gathered these tips and tricks for cultivating a loving, lasting relationship.

First off, how do you “find the one”? That's the question many of us have asked ourselves at one point or another. And there's not a clear answer to that. Many say that “finding the one” is directly related to the energy you yourself put out into the world. I have found that it's a combination of a couple of things: being comfortable with yourself, seeking love by giving, and finding a partner who is also in the right state of mind, in the right place.

Once you've found that person, there are quite a few factors that come into play as far as growing in a loving relationship together. The most important quality that people have echoed time and time again is communication. It's simple in theory but when emotions play a role, communication can become complex. It can impact whether or not a relationship is a growing or struggling one. Being honest about how you feel even if it's not what you think the other person wants to hear can be difficult. But in the end, it's better not to let the “tough stuff” fester. Communication can be as simple as sharing preferences (ex: I like to be outside, I like going to a specific restaurant) to sharing fears (ex: Fear of the future, break-up, baggage). Be open to trying new things and communicating those “scary in a good way” thoughts. Even if you don't agree on things, it's important to have those deep conversations.
