A home is the place that we love to be. Each and every person can create an environment that feels most comfortable for them. Here are a few guidelines to help you feel more love and peace at home.
Keeping a tidy home.
-“A place for everything, everything in its place”-- ie: everyone organizes their kitchens by
designating a cabinet for plates, cups, a drawer for silverware, etc. What about doing that with
the rest of your house? Go through each room- bedroom and closets, bathroom and cabinets, living room and bookshelves
-Compartmentalize items in every room to assist with organization, then you can never lose
something
Creating a peaceful space.
-Clear the clutter
-Decorate with warm, inviting tones
-Create a corner or room in the house that is dedicated to relaxation and peace
-Make your nightstand peaceful- add nice books, a candle, a waterfall or soft music
Comforting atmosphere.
-Have plants around; good for detoxing the air and for your visual enjoyment
-Hang up photographs and pictures that you enjoy
-Post positive, inspiring quotes in every room (Our airbnb guests said, “I feel like it's so positive in here that no one could ever be upset here.”)
-Have a pin board in your kitchen to put inspirational things on, whether it's quotes or pictures or other things pulled from a magazine
-Add in pops of color
-Enjoy your pets and the toys for your pets that are all around
Welcome guests and family members.
-I love to host, so bringing in people I love into my home makes me happy!
Location of home.
-Is the place where your home is located as important as it's interior?
-My friend said that she has never felt “at home” in NY and living away from “home” always
makes her question way she left in the first place. There's an obvious comfort of returning to the
familiar, especially when bad things happen you want to be closer to family. But do the people
make that place “home.”
-“I'm looking for my Texas” says my friend as she journeys to find her own “home” base
-Maybe it's more about who you are with rather than where you are! To each their own!
Go and be joyful at home!
