of Joyce My or ministry's. I'm
0:07
Joyce Meyer and I believe.
0:09
That God can hear you everywhere
0:11
you turn. To
0:18
one always her was poured out on the they have
0:20
been a cost one the first thing is. That.
0:23
He did was a touch their mouths and so I think
0:25
we. Need the pay some attention to
0:27
that you know other some reason
0:30
for that and Paul said just.
0:33
To. Go on little bit here. Paul said Do Not
0:35
forbid anybody to speak in tongues. So.
0:37
If anybody tells you are, you can't
0:39
do that Say the Apostle Paul said
0:41
I got and how said I thank
0:43
God that I speak in tongues more
0:45
than you all But yet he said
0:47
I would rather speak a few words.
0:49
What the understanding that to speak in
0:52
tongues all day long? Unless there's somebody
0:54
to interpret and tell people what's being
0:56
said so much, don't make too much
0:58
out of it. But.
1:00
Much don't ignore it. You
1:03
know it's about the holy spirit not tongs.
1:05
When I go buy a pair of tennis
1:08
shoes, I don't going on as prepared times.
1:10
I get killers during the times. Come with
1:12
it. Well when you. Are
1:20
oh my gosh I am get myself in so much. Trouble.
1:27
When you sleep the holy
1:29
spirit hey wouldn't give you
1:32
the gifts. To.
1:34
Use. For. The
1:36
good and the prophet of all as
1:38
he determines and desires a man and
1:40
so don't make you really don't have
1:43
to make too much out of any
1:45
of the give you just freak the
1:47
holy spirit usually god and before you
1:50
know what you're going to be walking
1:52
in the supernatural power and have everything
1:54
that you need to do anything that
1:56
got an issue to do a man.
2:00
All right, so Let me
2:02
just say this if you're sitting there and you're like,
2:04
I wish I knew what you're talking about lady
2:06
But I don't have a clue I feel about
2:08
as lost as I can be I've
2:11
got a book And
2:20
if we don't have it with us it's called knowing
2:22
God Intimately and
2:24
it talks about all the gifts of spirit all the
2:27
freedom of spirit I've got another book on being
2:29
baptized in the Holy Spirit. So you get those
2:31
and study them If
2:34
you want to know something don't just wait for somebody
2:36
else to come and tell you everything get
2:38
hungry for God and dig until
2:40
you know If
2:43
you want to know more about what I'm talking about
2:45
go home and get out of concordance and My
2:49
gosh today all you got it. You can ask
2:51
Google anything in the middle point you in the right
2:53
direction Just gifts
2:55
of the Spirit put it in Google and see what comes up
2:58
and then look up all the scriptures yourself You'll
3:00
find that it's in the Bible You
3:03
don't have to live without power You
3:07
do not have to live without power Power
3:17
Power to be my witnesses
3:19
in Jerusalem Judea's Sumerian to the ends
3:21
of the earth when the Holy Ghost
3:23
comes upon us we are to have
3:25
power power to be
3:27
able to control ourselves and to discipline
3:29
ourselves and to Do
3:32
what God wants us to do? All right.
3:34
I am gonna make some effort here to calm down
3:36
just a tad All
3:40
right, I'm gonna tell you a story I
3:45
See I I've done this long enough I can
3:47
sense when the anointing is real strong on me
3:49
and when it's maybe not quite as strong I'm
3:51
always anointed to do what I'm doing, but There
3:54
are times when the anointing is so strong or
3:56
the presence of God is so strong that I
3:58
just feel like I'm flying I mean,
4:00
it's like, I mean, I have
4:03
no idea what the next thing is going to be. It's going to
4:05
come out of my mouth, but it just keeps coming out and coming
4:07
out and coming out. It seems to help
4:09
people. So that's just the way we go with it. We just do it that
4:12
way. And so if
4:14
I'm missing that, because
4:16
I'm not like a polished public
4:19
speaker that's gone to a
4:21
bunch of public speaking classes, I just
4:24
had a big mouth and
4:27
God decided to use it. Amen.
4:30
I was, I mean, I was always a
4:32
fairly good communicator. I can get my point
4:35
across and that really
4:37
is the main
4:40
and probably the only real strong gift that
4:42
I have. I've got a lot of common sense,
4:45
but I mainly just have
4:47
this gift to communicate God's
4:50
word. And since I don't
4:52
do a bunch of other fancy stuff, you
4:55
know, if this isn't working, I can't stop
4:57
and sing a great song and just, you
4:59
know, amaze everybody. I
5:02
am telling you that I have to have God's
5:04
anointing or I am in serious trouble.
5:07
Okay. So when
5:09
I don't have that, if
5:13
I feel that the anointing is not strong,
5:15
then I can't wait until I get done.
5:18
And if I'm watching the clock, not being
5:20
able to wait until I get done, I know that I'm
5:22
in trouble. So that happens to
5:24
me almost never, but occasionally
5:27
if God's trying to get my attention about
5:29
something, it will. You don't know it,
5:32
but I know it. So many years
5:34
ago, I went through a little period of
5:36
time where I
5:38
was teaching just like I always do,
5:40
but I just felt like there was
5:42
no anointing at all. And
5:45
I hated it. Hated
5:47
it. I felt like that everything I was saying made
5:50
no sense at all. So
5:52
I would say today, I just feel like there's no anointing. He
5:54
said, what are you talking about? It was good. Everything
5:57
was fine. I'm at least glad God hides it from
5:59
other people. And so this went
6:01
on for a few times when I'd
6:03
go out and speak and I finally just I told ever said
6:05
I don't know What is wrong with me? But
6:09
I am NOT going to bed tonight until I find out
6:12
so I went in my office and he went to bed and I
6:16
Just crying out to God just tell me what was wrong.
6:18
So what was wrong? He never showed me anything. Well
6:21
the next day Dave said I think
6:23
God showed me what's wrong I
6:32
Don't you absolutely hate it when God does
6:34
that I Don't
6:36
want you to tell him what's wrong. I
6:39
want you to tell me what's wrong and keep it
6:41
between me and you Well
6:47
the minute he said that I
6:49
just already got all my all the way out
6:51
like you know, what's wrong You're gonna you're
6:53
gonna tell me what's wrong. And
6:56
so he said So I'm
6:58
like, okay What is it and he
7:00
said well you remember the other day when you
7:02
were talking about so-and-so and it was actually a
7:05
preacher But I know and you
7:07
said and I had said
7:09
some not so good things about his preaching Like
7:12
I thought he just you know kind of rambled
7:14
and went off in a bunch of different directions
7:17
and never really finished His point. Well, Dave agreed
7:19
with me If
7:22
God wasn't dealing with him And
7:28
then not only did he not deal with Dave
7:30
about it he tells Dave that's my problem Now
7:34
I know that this sounds funny now, but it was
7:36
not funny when it was happening And
7:39
so I just I actually got madder.
7:41
So I just went back
7:43
to my room decided I was gonna stay up some more and so
7:49
Took a few days, but God led me to
7:51
these scriptures in James 3 1 through 10 that
7:53
I'm getting ready to read you Not
7:58
many of you should become teachers For
8:04
you know that we who teach will be
8:07
judged with a greater strictness. So
8:11
I'm going to read you the rest of this in a minute for another
8:13
purpose, but the bottom
8:16
line is, is I
8:18
had actually done a very
8:20
bad thing as a teacher of
8:22
God's Word in
8:24
saying something downgrading about
8:27
another person teaching God's Word.
8:31
We don't need to be judging anybody, but if you
8:33
want to get in trouble, you just go judge somebody
8:35
that's doing the same thing you are. Maybe
8:47
you're a lead vocalist in the church
8:49
choir and you
8:52
have a great voice and somebody
8:56
else if they let do
8:58
specials once in a while, you say they couldn't
9:00
sing their way out of a paper bag. I
9:02
don't know why they let them sing. Well
9:06
you better start repenting fast. Are
9:10
you all you understand what I'm saying? I
9:15
know a doctor who talks about other doctors
9:17
and I'm like, you
9:20
don't know what you're doing. You need to
9:23
be careful. See I want
9:25
to put a little bit of reverential fear
9:27
in all of you today that God does
9:29
not like it when we
9:31
gossip and slander
9:34
other people.
9:37
Amen? So
9:44
I got it. I
9:46
mean I heard God. I only did that
9:48
one other time in my life and it was a couple of
9:50
years after that. Same type
9:52
of situation, same result. Sometimes
9:55
God has to teach us things a couple of times.
10:00
Not many of you should become teachers
10:02
because we who teach will be judged
10:04
with a greater strictness. For
10:06
we all stumble in many ways. If
10:09
anyone does not stumble in what he says,
10:13
he's a perfect man, able to bridle his
10:15
whole body. So, wow, what a statement. If
10:17
anybody can control their mouth, they
10:21
can control every other thing in their
10:24
life. If
10:27
we put bits into the mouths of horses so
10:29
that they obey us, we guide their whole bodies
10:32
as well. Two examples here.
10:34
A bit in a horse's mouth is just a little tiny piece
10:36
of metal. But that
10:39
horse that can weigh as
10:41
much as 15 to 1600 pounds can
10:45
be controlled with that one
10:47
little tiny piece of metal. So he's
10:49
saying that your whole life, the direction
10:51
of your whole life, can be controlled
10:53
by this one tiny little thing which
10:55
is your tongue and the words that you
10:57
speak. Hmm,
11:01
does anybody need this today? Okay. Second,
11:08
they look at the ships, although they are so
11:10
large and are driven by strong winds, they are
11:12
guided by a very small rudder wherever
11:16
the will of the pilot directs.
11:19
So, the captain
11:21
of the ship can
11:24
stand in one part of the ship and
11:26
with a wheel give
11:29
direction to this gigantic
11:33
ship by
11:35
one little rudder that
11:38
nobody can even see. I
11:43
don't think we have any idea. I
11:46
believe, I'll say for me, I don't think
11:48
that I have any idea still, as
11:51
much as I've studied it, talked about it,
11:54
the real power of words, because I
11:56
can tell you if we really did, we
11:58
would. be a
12:00
lot more careful about what we say. Amen.
12:08
Now get
12:11
out of concordance and look up
12:13
every, just do proverbs, just read
12:15
through proverbs and highlight every scripture
12:17
about the mouth and words. There's
12:21
nothing more important than the way we think and
12:24
the way we talk. Amen.
12:30
Verse five, so also the tongue is a small
12:32
member, yet it boasts of great things. How
12:35
great a forest is set ablaze by such a
12:37
small fire. And the tongue is
12:39
a fire, a world
12:42
of unrighteousness. The tongue is set among
12:44
our members, staining
12:47
the whole body, setting on fire the
12:50
entire course of life, and
12:53
it's set on fire by hell. Well,
12:55
so how do you like that? For
12:57
every kind of beast and bird of reptile and
12:59
sea creature can be tamed and has been
13:01
tamed by mankind, but no
13:03
human being can tame the tongue. It's
13:07
a restless evil full of deadly poison. With
13:10
it we bless our Lord and Father, and
13:12
with it we curse people who are made
13:14
in the likeness of God. So
13:16
you get that? We come here,
13:18
we sing our songs of praise. I
13:21
love that song, our defender. All
13:24
we do is bow down, all we do is praise
13:26
him, all we do is worship, and we love that
13:28
song. But then, if
13:31
you hadn't heard this message, you won't do this now,
13:34
but if you wouldn't have heard this message,
13:36
there's a possibility that somebody here would have
13:38
left and you would
13:40
have driven home with somebody and
13:43
talked about, well, I think she
13:45
talked too long or I think she talked too
13:47
loud or whatever.
13:53
I mean, we used to go
13:55
to church and then we'd go to
13:57
lunch with our friends and have the pastor for lunch. You
14:01
know, it was like lunch fun to
14:03
gossip about everybody in church. We didn't know
14:05
any better. Nobody had ever told me
14:07
what I'm telling you here today. Does
14:09
anybody believe what I'm saying? Amen?
14:15
And because the tongue is
14:18
so hard to control, why
14:20
is it that we just
14:22
can't hardly stand not to
14:24
tell the thing we heard? Especially
14:28
if it's a bad thing. Let
14:32
me read you this. I thought this was really good. In
14:36
ancient Greece, Socrates was reputed
14:38
to hold knowledge in high
14:41
esteem. One
14:43
day an acquaintance met the great philosopher and said,
14:45
Do you know what I just heard about your
14:47
friend? Hold
14:50
on a minute, Socrates replied, before telling me
14:52
anything I'd like you to pass a little
14:54
test. I call it the triple filter test.
14:59
Triple filter? That's right. Socrates
15:01
continued. Before you talk to me about my
15:03
friend, it might be a good idea to take
15:05
a moment and filter what you're going to say.
15:08
That's why I call it the triple filter
15:10
test. The first filter is truth. Have you
15:12
made absolutely sure that what you're about to
15:14
tell me is truth? No,
15:17
the man said, actually, it was just something I heard.
15:21
All right, said Socrates, so you don't really even know if it's true
15:23
or not. Now, let's try the
15:25
second filter, the filter of goodness. Is
15:27
what you're about to tell me about my friend
15:29
something good? No,
15:32
it's actually on the contrary. So
15:34
Socrates continued, you want to tell me something bad
15:36
about him, but you're not even sure that it's
15:39
true. Well,
15:41
you may still pass the test, though, because
15:43
there's one filter left, the
15:45
filter of usefulness. Is what you want
15:47
to tell me about my friend going to be useful to me? Well,
15:50
no, not really. Well,
15:53
concluded Socrates, if what you want to tell
15:55
me is not true, not good, and not
15:57
even useful, then why bother telling me at all? Let's
16:09
think about James 3 too again, for
16:12
we all stumble in many ways. And
16:15
if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he
16:17
is a perfect man, able
16:19
also to bridle his whole body.
16:24
Matthew 12, 34 and 35, out
16:27
of the heart, the mouth speaks.
16:32
Oh I didn't mean to say that. Well it had to
16:34
be in there for it to come out. Amen?
16:42
And the more you think about something, the more
16:44
likely you are to say it. You
16:49
brood of vipers, how can you speak good when you're
16:51
evil, for out of the abundance of the heart, the
16:53
mouth speaks. The good person
16:55
out of his good treasure brings forth good, and
16:57
the evil person out of his evil treasure brings
16:59
forth evil. So
17:03
he's saying that if you listen to yourself
17:05
or you listen to other people, you
17:08
can quickly find out what kind
17:10
of person they are. Listen
17:12
to yourself and you'll get to know yourself. Yeah,
17:20
wow, that's about all you can say about that, isn't it? I
17:25
mean if you gossip, you're a gossiper. If
17:28
you complain, you're a complainer. If
17:32
you lie, you're a liar. I'm
17:35
not trying to make you feel bad. I
17:39
have to apply the same thing to myself. I
17:42
don't want to live in this dream world that
17:44
I'm this great Christian if really
17:47
I've got some blaring
17:49
problems that I'm not even paying any
17:51
attention to. But
17:54
it's so important who you hang around with. Let
17:57
me tell you something, the people that you spend time with,
18:00
have a real influence on your life
18:02
because like I talked about the anointing
18:04
I believe it's transferable and
18:06
I believe that you start getting some of
18:08
whatever you're around this
18:16
would happen with your pastor or anybody you listen
18:18
to a lot, certainly not just me but people
18:21
who listen to me a lot like
18:24
maybe every morning while they're driving to work or
18:26
and they've done it for for years it
18:31
won't be long and you'll hear somebody say you
18:33
sound just like Joyce Meyer or
18:38
your husband might say you're starting to act like that lady
18:40
on TV well it's
18:42
true whatever you're around a lot
18:47
you start becoming like that
18:50
so you need to be careful
18:52
who you're spending time with because
18:54
they are influencing you don't
19:00
hang out with negative grouchy
19:06
grumbling, gossiping, slandering
19:12
people amen
19:17
get around somebody that's got something
19:19
good to say somebody
19:21
that's positive why
19:26
do we say the wrong thing if
19:28
you figure it out please let
19:30
me know do you ever feel
19:32
like that emoji with the zipper
19:34
across its mouth wishing that you
19:36
could just mmm especially after blabbing
19:39
something that you wish you hadn't
19:42
thankfully the Bible has answers to
19:44
this as well to help us
19:46
learn to say the right things
19:48
to speak God's words those
19:50
things which bring the right results
19:53
in our lives Joyce's
19:55
book Me and My Big Mouth shares
19:58
these important biblical principles about
20:00
how to speak God's way right
20:02
out of his word. This is
20:05
one of the first books that
20:07
helped me become familiar with Joyce,
20:09
but I'll tell you before I
20:11
even knew who she was, this
20:13
book really taught me so much
20:15
about speaking God's Word. In this
20:18
book we can learn how to
20:20
apply biblical truth to align our
20:22
words with God's Word in order
20:24
to experience change in our lives.
20:26
Now I love this too because
20:28
today you'll also get the incredible
20:30
power of God's Word. This is
20:33
a children's book for our precious
20:35
little ones. This book helps kids
20:37
ages 6 to 10 years
20:40
old develop their superpowers to be
20:42
brave and strong and courageous by
20:44
memorizing Bible verses and teaching them how
20:47
to speak out loud the right things
20:49
when facing difficult circumstances. You know it
20:51
is so important for adults to know
20:53
God's Word and what's coming out of
20:56
our mouth and how
20:58
it influences those around us. So
21:00
how much better would it be
21:03
to give our children and our
21:05
grandchildren that opportunity and to help
21:07
them to start early. So get
21:09
these books today. Go to joycemeyer.org.
21:12
Kids should have a chance to be
21:15
just kids, right? Well while in Hamburg,
21:17
Germany I hung out with some children
21:19
dealing with some really tough situations and
21:22
we had a great time together because
21:24
through our outreach there we're providing opportunities
21:27
they may not get at home. Take
21:29
a look at this. They
21:32
paint pictures of war. They paint
21:34
pictures of bombings of their parents. Some
21:36
of them just they paint the national
21:38
flag of the country they came
21:40
from. Some of them paint the German
21:43
flag because that's the country they are
21:45
in now. You don't need a language
21:47
because there's no language barrier if
21:49
they just paint. You
21:52
can't tell necessarily in this neighborhood
21:54
in Germany but behind the doors
21:56
of these apartments these families are
21:58
suffering. difficult situations. They
22:01
don't often have what they need
22:03
and many have come from other
22:05
countries fleeing difficult situations. This is
22:08
an outreach of a ministry called
22:10
Stadt Pencil and Hand of
22:12
Hope is so honored to be a
22:14
part of what is happening here. Our
22:17
founder, he was riding his
22:19
bicycle just right next to
22:21
a refugee camp. He thought,
22:23
well, we have to do something for these
22:26
children because they don't have anything. They picked
22:28
up the kids, drove them to church and
22:30
the only question the kids have. When
22:32
do you come back and pick us up again?
22:35
That couldn't be a one-time thing and it couldn't
22:37
be a thing we only pick them up for
22:39
church. We have to serve them where they live.
22:42
Now Stadt Pencil, which translates
22:44
to City Island, takes volunteers
22:46
into refugee camps and poor
22:49
neighborhoods, offering a safe
22:51
space for kids to be kids
22:53
while experiencing the practical love and
22:55
joy of Jesus. Ben,
22:58
tell me what this area is called and a
23:00
little bit about it. So this is
23:03
Kestovsit, where
23:05
a lot of people live in a
23:07
very, very small place. So there
23:11
are 6,000 people here living in points
23:13
for quite a half meters. So
23:16
it's even crowded rather than New York. Up
23:18
to 30% of the
23:21
people here are helped
23:23
by the government financially. Every
23:25
fifth kid here lives in
23:27
poverty or underneath the poverty
23:29
line. We have some kids
23:31
coming to our programs and we don't
23:33
know if they get fed at home.
23:35
So we started to have this all-you-can-eat
23:38
in our kids' club. Volunteers and
23:40
staff members post Kids Club
23:42
programs in these neighborhoods. One
24:00
of the things 10-year-old Aurora loves
24:02
about Kids Club, but some
24:04
activities are a little more beloved.
24:07
What are some of your favorite activities that you do?
24:10
Too soon slime. Too soon slime. Yeah,
24:12
I was doing slime. Slime is very fun.
24:15
Okay. If you are looking
24:17
for a little bit more joy in your
24:19
life, try this. Hang out
24:22
with children. They will rub
24:24
off on you. And at Joyce Meyer
24:26
Ministries in Hand of Hope, we
24:28
love hanging out with children all over the world.
24:30
And most of all, we enjoy
24:33
sharing the love of Christ with
24:35
them. They know you,
24:37
you know them, you're building relationships. That
24:39
makes a big difference, doesn't it? It
24:41
does. It does, of course.
24:44
The relationship is what changes people,
24:46
what can encourage people. And
24:48
that's why this is the main thing we
24:50
want to do, those relationships. I once learned
24:52
they don't care how much you
24:54
know, unless they know how much you care. And
24:57
that's one of the things we want to do.
24:59
We want to show them how much we care
25:01
about them. We tell the kids about how God
25:03
loves them, how precious they are, that there is
25:06
a plan for their lives, because that's just important
25:08
for the kids to hear over and over again.
25:10
I like the word that they tell you
25:12
so, that you don't change and
25:15
God loves you either way. Are
25:17
you learning how valuable you are
25:19
and how much God loves you?
25:22
Yes, they teach you that every day.
25:24
Most of the kids that come to our
25:26
programs are from a Muslim background. That's just
25:28
part of Hamburg culture, that we
25:31
have many Muslim families. And
25:33
you would think that they are against the
25:35
Christian organizations, that they would never put their
25:38
kids in a Christian organization. But actually, some
25:40
of them, or most of them tell me,
25:42
well, at least you have values. You have
25:44
values we believe in as well. Do
25:47
you go home and tell your parents? So they
25:49
ask me what they learn, what they do, and
25:52
then I tell those educators. What
25:54
do they say? Maybe they want to come one
25:56
day to learn. So That
25:59
would be good. so you'd be
26:01
difference in your family to appear
26:03
hours with my or ministry joined
26:05
with you and been a part
26:07
of this entire men and three.
26:10
Ominously started south to the fallen tears
26:12
because it was small and the beginning
26:14
and at one point we came to
26:16
moment where be needed. One staff members
26:18
has to organize the structure of the
26:20
wall and here's an but we didn't
26:22
have the funds for it and that
26:24
was the moment. It was fifteen. sixteen
26:27
years ago. Very so. it's my a
26:29
minute three tend to have stepped in
26:31
to finance part of the staff member.
26:33
That's why it's so important to have
26:35
a partner like and of hopes. Most
26:40
of the kids who come to our programs
26:42
they don't have the same sense of and
26:45
life just because of the place where they
26:47
grow up. It's a cycle and it's so
26:49
hard for the kids to come out of
26:51
the neighborhood. The opening their eyes to
26:54
a future that they'll never considered a
26:56
helping kids to be able to just
26:58
because it's also to dream for up
27:00
as better Lives down the road. As
27:03
exactly and we believe as a christian organization,
27:05
we believe that there is a plan for
27:07
every one of them and I think that's
27:10
just different. We can do it without God
27:12
and without the got perspective. Just the tell
27:14
me yes you can make it out of
27:16
here. but knowing that there's a god who
27:19
lost some I got was a blend for
27:21
them even before they were born. and we
27:23
have some teenagers and they tell me my
27:25
life has changed because of this program. All.
27:28
Over the world no matter where it
27:30
as well as to whether it's Africa
27:32
or Asia in the United States are
27:34
right Here in Europe there are so
27:37
many children, desperate situation, In
27:40
Syria. that is
27:42
cool and smiles a sign large
27:45
they are visa were able to
27:47
share christ with them you can
27:49
be a part of the sales
27:51
and if you want more joy
27:53
in your life like i said
27:55
you can be right here with
27:58
you'll be helping kids over
28:00
the world and you can make a
28:02
big difference. So we invite you to
28:04
pray about it and to join us
28:07
here today. Go to joycemeyer.org, give us
28:09
a call and I believe it's going
28:11
to bring some extra joy to you
28:13
at the same time. For
