And so many people think so badly

0:02

of themselves. They have such a poor opinion

0:04

of themselves. And, I

0:07

mean, David in the psalms kinda

0:09

kicks that one out of the ballgame right right

0:11

away. He's like, alright, you know, he calls himself

0:13

anointed, he calls himself righteous, he

0:16

he he says all the good things about him

0:18

that God wants us to believe about ourselves.

0:22

Hi friends. Welcome to Joyce Meyer's

0:24

Talk It Out Podcast. where

0:26

my friends and I talk about god's word

0:28

and the real stuff of life and we

0:30

hold nothing back. I'm ginger

0:32

stocky. with Aaron Cooley, Jay,

0:35

and of course, Joyce Meyer. We're

0:37

all in different stages of life.

0:39

A young career woman and mom to two

0:41

sweet kiddos, an accomplished songwriter

0:44

facing an unexpected new life's

0:46

journey, a leader creative and

0:48

author with a heart for adventure and

0:51

a world renowned bible teacher whose

0:53

personal story has impacted millions

0:56

and there's you. Because sometimes

0:59

you just need to talk about life with your girlfriends.

1:02

So consider yourself one of us and

1:04

let's talk it out.

1:07

Hi friends. We have

1:09

such good stuff for you today. Joyce

1:11

is with us. We're all here

1:13

to talk about some really

1:15

good things. In fact, whether

1:18

you're a new Christian and you're just looking

1:20

to start studying in God's word

1:22

or you need little comfort, little encouragement,

1:25

This is the thing we're gonna be talking about

1:27

the psalms. Before we do that, can I wind

1:30

to you guys just a little bit? Please. Line?

1:32

I wanna wind. Just just tell you

1:34

that. Just what can you say? He's like,

1:36

I'm not familiar

1:39

with that. I'm not familiar with that. No.

1:44

It's just funny because a lot

1:46

of people around here have been

1:49

working on getting their teeth straightened.

1:51

senior taste trays. So we

1:53

have a lot of us that, you know, are

1:56

have trays or have finished up

1:58

with trays. getting our teeth

1:59

straightened out. So, ma'am, I've been wanting

2:02

to do this for, I don't know,

2:05

many, many years. My teeth have always been,

2:07

you know, really crooked.

2:09

My my mother's teeth overlap

2:12

and my father's teeth have a big

2:14

gap because he's, you know, he's got a British

2:16

background. So had to know that the truth

2:18

history of the whole life. The

2:19

whole

2:22

purpose of sharing the truth

2:23

history of the families because Theoretically,

2:26

my teeth should have been perfect. If

2:28

you would have taken the the overlap

2:31

in the gaps and put them together, it would

2:33

have been a baby with perfect teeth,

2:35

but it did not work out that way. so glad

2:37

they turned in. Right now, any

2:39

life changing stuff. So now

2:41

I have Invisalign. And I I just

2:43

didn't know that there was so

2:45

much spit available anywhere,

2:48

so much in any one person's body,

2:50

so much of it. So just and and all the

2:52

caffeine and all the things. So the

2:54

reason I bring it up is because Erin

2:57

finished with hers. I did. Her teeth

2:59

look they wonder really nice. And

3:01

I don't I don't recall her

3:03

complaining She does not

3:05

complain. Mhmm. Or maybe she's more spiritual.

3:08

I don't I don't think it'll

3:10

be amazing. There is something going

3:12

on because yeah.

3:14

just I'm just bringing it

3:16

up as propster and Well, you know, day of

3:18

complaining songs.

3:20

That's like, yeah. I bring it up.

3:22

Yep.

3:22

it's okay to bring God

3:24

all of our complaints. Right?

3:26

Yes. I did a devotional on Psalms,

3:29

took

3:29

each Psalm and I got,

3:31

you know, sometimes two or three different devotions

3:34

out of each one. And

3:35

the thing that really impressed

3:39

me, I guess, about the psalms that I had

3:41

never really

3:42

noticed before was just how

3:46

really

3:48

got wrenchingly honest. Yeah.

3:50

Mhmm. David was with god --

3:52

Mhmm. -- about how he

3:54

felt. I got -- Yeah.

3:56

I've got some examples,

3:59

like, this is Psalm thirteen.

4:01

How long will you forget me? Oh, Lord, forever?

4:04

Right. how long will you hide

4:07

your face from me? How long must

4:09

I lay up cares within me and have sorrow

4:11

in my heart day after day? How

4:13

long shall my enemy exalt himself

4:15

over me? Consider

4:17

and answer me. Oh, Lord, my God. Lighten

4:19

the eyes of my faith to behold your face.

4:22

You said,

4:29

then he says, the thing that I love is no matter

4:31

how much he complains before the sun's

4:33

over, he always says but --

4:35

Yeah. Yeah. -- every time. I have trusted,

4:37

leaned on him and confident in your mercy

4:39

and loving kindness. Mhmm. My heart

4:41

shall rejoice and be in high spirits

4:43

-- Mhmm. -- in your salvation, so you

4:45

can get happy about your team. Exactly. But

4:47

I will rejoice in the fact

4:49

that I have good dental care seriously

4:51

in the bones of the heart. Exactly.

4:54

I will sing to the lord because he has dealt

4:56

bountifully with me. interesting about

4:58

the Psalms because even

5:01

people who don't know very much at all about the

5:03

Bible -- Mhmm. -- if they're

5:05

having problems -- Yeah. --

5:07

that's where they'll go. Yeah. I mean, it's it's

5:09

so relatable. It is. It's so relatable.

5:11

Like, I like, that song right there,

5:13

the thirteenth, like, was literally, it's

5:15

been me in the shower for every, like,

5:17

you know, just I'm like, god. Like,

5:19

what is going on? Because when

5:21

you think about going through seasons of,

5:23

like, times and you think about,

5:25

you know, god fighting your battles and

5:27

you're thinking about, you know, vendors'

5:30

mindset of the Lord, I will repay and it's

5:32

like, when you go pay up, sir?

5:34

Like, you know, like, how long -- Right. --

5:36

you know, but that part that to get to

5:38

the ending part to say, like, but in this,

5:40

I still rejoice, and I still

5:42

sing songs. Like, that's not easy to do. It's

5:44

kinda like, this is how I feel, but this

5:46

is what I believe. Right? Yeah. And it

5:48

felt almost sometimes like he's prophecying

5:51

what's to come. Like, even though in his

5:54

situation, it it didn't change between here

5:56

I'm really angry and here is how

5:58

you're good. nothing happened

5:59

different in there, but he is speaking what he

6:02

knows as truth based on what God's promised

6:04

him. Which is one is forty

6:06

two two. He says, I pour out my complaint,

6:08

but for him. I tell him my troubles.

6:11

Yes. Yeah. Yeah. And

6:13

it's it's welcomed by

6:15

God. I think that's what's so beautiful is that

6:17

God -- Yeah. -- he knows us. He knows

6:19

our hearts. He knows how we're hurting.

6:21

And he doesn't turn away

6:23

when we start to do that. He wraps his

6:25

arms around us. and says, let me

6:27

tell you who I am. Right. And

6:29

how much I love you. So like

6:32

Joy said, the songs are just a really

6:34

great place to get an

6:36

understanding of who God is in your

6:38

life to find the the solace that

6:40

you need. So we're gonna start off with her

6:42

talking about probably the most famous

6:44

Psalm of all. and

6:46

see all of the things that happen

6:48

in that song and how beautiful it

6:50

is. And then we'll talk about a lot

6:52

more of the songs. here's

6:53

joys.

6:55

The Lord

6:56

is my shepherd. I

6:59

shall not want.

7:00

sheep and shepherds, analogies

7:03

in the bible. Jesus

7:06

is referred to as the shepherd and

7:08

we are referred to as his

7:10

sheep.

7:12

A child proudly says, this

7:15

is my dad. It puts

7:17

an emphasis on my dad. And

7:19

I believe when David wrote this song, he

7:21

would have said it more like the Lord is my

7:24

shepherd. And I

7:26

want tonight

7:28

Really, my goal in tonight's teaching

7:31

is for you to come into a place of

7:33

feeling safe. Everybody

7:35

wants to feel safe. and especially women

7:37

want to feel safe. They wanna feel taken

7:39

care of. That's just in our nature to

7:41

want to feel safe.

7:45

I

7:46

want you to know that you're cared for, that God

7:48

has

7:48

a plan for your life, that he's not mad at you,

7:50

that he knew everything that you were gonna do wrong,

7:53

before you ever even came into relationship

7:55

with him, and he already in his

7:57

providential

7:57

care provided for all

8:00

of it.

8:01

God's got you covered. Hey

8:03

man, God's got your back.

8:05

The

8:08

Lord is my shepherd, I believe David

8:11

said. I

8:12

don't want us just to think about a god way

8:14

off in this guy somewhere, but he wants to

8:16

have a personal intimate

8:18

relationship with The difference

8:20

in religion and relationship

8:22

is what I just said. Religion

8:24

always looks for god somewhere

8:27

and tries to get to god through works.

8:29

and effort and

8:31

some certain kind of behavior. Are

8:33

you a Christian while I go to church? Well, that I

8:36

that's not what I asked you. That doesn't make you

8:38

a Christian. I can

8:40

sit in my garage for a year and that'll never

8:42

make me a car. Just because you sit

8:44

in church that doesn't make you a

8:45

Christian, amen.

8:46

A

8:51

Christian is not even necessarily

8:53

someone that

8:54

does good works. Well, I mean, yes,

8:56

we as Christians, we should do

8:58

good works, but that doing good

9:00

works doesn't prove to anybody that I'm

9:02

a Christian. The thing that makes us a

9:04

Christian is that we have received

9:07

Jesus Christ

9:09

into

9:09

our heart To

9:12

be our lord, to be our savior,

9:14

we believe that he is the son

9:16

of god. God himself who

9:19

took

9:19

our sin upon himself, who took

9:21

our punishment, who died in our

9:23

place, who rose from the dead,

9:25

in seated the right hand of God

9:27

the father, And as we

9:29

receive him, he comes to be intimate

9:31

and personal to live

9:33

inside of us, to help

9:35

us with everything.

9:37

Amen.

9:42

There's so much in there. I mean,

9:44

you could teach for a week on

9:46

the twenty third song. Yeah. Mhmm.

9:48

I shall not want. The

9:50

Lord is my shepherd. I shall not

9:52

want.

9:54

mister, how many

9:55

well, we're wanting something all the time. Right.

9:57

But he said he had such

9:59

a relationship

9:59

with God

10:01

that he he said he's more than

10:03

enough. Mhmm. He satisfies my

10:06

soul.

10:07

And there's It's

10:09

some, I think, seventeen fifteen,

10:12

and it says, I shall be fully satisfied

10:14

when

10:14

I awake to find myself

10:16

beholding your form and having

10:18

a sweet communion with you. And

10:21

I love that. So when when

10:23

you are close enough to God that when

10:25

you wake up in the morning, first

10:27

thing you find yourself doing is

10:30

talking to him. Yeah. You're gonna

10:32

find too that you have a a

10:34

satisfaction that nothing can give you

10:36

except a relationship with God. So many

10:38

people, even people watching right now,

10:40

they're looking for

10:42

something to satisfy them.

10:44

And -- Mhmm. -- you

10:45

know, you can there's so

10:48

many rich miserable people --

10:50

Yeah. -- you know, Having stuff is

10:52

not what makes you happy, but

10:54

if you if if God is

10:57

first, he doesn't mind you having nice things.

10:59

He wants who would he want to have

11:01

nice things other than his kids, but he

11:03

doesn't want us to cling

11:06

to them. Yeah. We need to always be

11:07

willing to let go of any thing

11:09

that God tells us to let go of. And so one more

11:12

thing and then I'll turn it over to somebody else.

11:14

Let's talk. Let's talk. Great. Let's

11:16

talk to the whole show of you. the

11:19

thing is so important about what we're saying

11:21

here about being honest is so many

11:23

people

11:24

are so phony when they pray.

11:26

Mhmm. Yeah. that

11:28

they think that they need to become a

11:31

different person -- Yeah. --

11:33

when they pray. Yeah. Like this

11:35

very religious sounding holy

11:37

person like you like you can't

11:39

I can't tell God that. Remember

11:41

one time thing? I can't tell God that.

11:43

And then

11:45

all of a sudden came to me, well, he knows it

11:47

anyway. Like you said, he knows everything.

11:49

So we don't

11:50

need to tell

11:51

God for God. It's It's

11:53

our way of getting it out of

11:55

us. Mhmm. Yeah. It's such a it's

11:57

it can be a bad habit to break, to,

11:59

like, run to friends

12:02

and family when you have, you

12:04

know, things going on in your life. It's so it's

12:06

easy for me to do that. Like, when one

12:08

of my excuses, my dad's a pastor, and so

12:10

it was I I kinda correlated my

12:12

relationship with god, with the

12:14

voice of my father, you know. And

12:16

so it took a long

12:18

time for that to

12:20

break. And then with my ex husband, I

12:22

used to like, we would talk through things a

12:24

lot, you know. And so one of the things

12:26

that I'm grateful for just being an adult that

12:28

really had to

12:29

relearn the voice of God and relearn

12:32

being comfortable,

12:32

just telling him all of my stuff.

12:35

Like, I'm grateful that even my daughter, like,

12:37

even this morning, She still

12:39

comes to mama, you know, the the

12:41

the but she didn't even vent. She just

12:43

said, please pray with me. Like, I

12:45

thought that was really powerful. I'm like, oh,

12:47

thank you. because, you know, the goal is to break that

12:50

generational curse of, like, running to someone. Right.

12:52

But it's okay to touch and agree with

12:54

someone. Mhmm. But, like, the fact that my kid is

12:56

already, like, pray with me. That's

12:58

awesome. You know, like, she didn't say, like, just pray for him.

13:00

She's, like, pray with me. You know -- Yeah. -- that this is that

13:02

that I can get through, you know, whatever. She didn't even

13:05

go through all the things. And so I just even

13:07

learned from her today. Like, there were some things that I had on

13:09

my heart, not mine. I all wanted to call my

13:11

mom or call my best friend, you know, just talk

13:13

through it and then she kinda checked me

13:15

real quick. And I'm like, that's why I said, in the shower, I'm

13:17

like, god. Like, And I was able

13:19

to just pour it out to him. So that's a I had It's

13:21

not even necessarily wrong to go

13:23

to someone, but we should always go to

13:25

God first. Right. I didn't

13:27

wanna go to guy first. I I wanna tell I wanna

13:29

tell my mama. You know? We

13:32

wanna tell somebody we know we'll feel sorry.

13:34

Right. Exactly. That would've made me feel

13:37

better temporary on it. doesn't feel sorry for

13:39

us. He gives us an answer. Exactly. One

13:41

thing that you said in that clip in in

13:43

your Psalm twenty three teaching. I have never

13:45

heard anybody talk about how the

13:48

emphasis on my, God is my shepherd.

13:50

Mhmm. And that

13:52

that kind of changes your

13:54

whole perspective on God when you look at him

13:56

like that. And I think you see that all through the

13:58

psalms that He

13:59

it is so personal. He he

14:02

loves me

14:02

Erin because I'm his

14:04

kid -- Right. -- and he's hurting when I'm

14:07

hurting. And Cadon, just my seven year

14:09

old, he just accepted Jesus into his heart a

14:11

couple weeks ago. So that's a really that's

14:13

a very big day in our house And

14:15

so we've had all these conversations like, what

14:17

does that mean? Not that you've done this? And what does

14:19

it look like to grow your relationship

14:21

with God? So to get to say to him,

14:23

Kaiden, what that means is when

14:25

you are scared, he's right here.

14:27

Mhmm. And he talked to him. when you're

14:29

happier or when you're really frustrated with that friend

14:31

and you want to push him down. Don't,

14:33

he's right here because he's

14:36

yours now because you ask him to be

14:38

there. And so Also the psalms, I think

14:40

it's you get so much of that

14:42

richness of -- Yeah. -- ideas. Yeah.

14:44

There are so many

14:46

beautiful things in the psalms well, of course,

14:48

she wrote a devotional with with

14:50

doing that. And that's one of the things that I've done

14:52

for more years than I even know

14:54

is part of my reading

14:56

the word is reading a song every

14:58

day. Yeah. And it

15:00

becomes such a part

15:02

of who you are. like

15:04

Psalm one thirty nine -- Mhmm. -- honestly,

15:06

that's such a gift from

15:08

God. That Psalm is if

15:10

he gave if he gave me nothing else,

15:12

if I didn't know all the other jewels that

15:14

were in his word and he

15:16

said here, here's Psalm one thirty nine, I

15:18

would be like, god, thank you, you

15:20

know, that that you

15:22

would tell me all of this

15:24

about who I am and who you are

15:26

and how we connect together

15:29

there there's just so much. In fact, if

15:31

if I look through through

15:33

my my older bible and all the

15:35

notes, it's almost like in psalms, it's

15:37

almost like a chronicle of my life.

15:39

Yeah. Like, all these notes

15:41

and dates of a time that

15:44

it's specific verse really meant something to

15:46

me and notes that people gave

15:48

me my mom, my kids, different things

15:50

and how God use different

15:52

songs in my life really

15:54

is an example of how

15:56

whatever it is that we're dealing with

15:59

he has answers -- Yeah. -- for

16:01

them. He has love to

16:03

pour out into our hearts

16:05

through his word. And for me,

16:07

specifically through the songs. Yeah. Yeah. That's so

16:09

funny. I did the same thing. I got my Bible, and I thought I'm gonna

16:11

find my favorite song. Yeah. I mean,

16:13

listen, has the most notes That's the one that

16:15

I really got who wins. Yeah.

16:17

Exactly. So I'm skinning through, and there's, like, pages

16:19

of just notes and the same kinds of things

16:21

and I I could probably see tears on the pages

16:23

of when I I needed that message at

16:25

that moment. So I couldn't pick one

16:27

because it's that same kind of thing you see as

16:29

faithfulness. And

16:30

the all the

16:31

ways he I would say the three most

16:35

famous or popular songs

16:37

are Psalm twenty three. Psalm

16:39

one thirty nine and Psalm ninety

16:41

one. Mhmm. I thought I would just mention

16:43

that. So if people are not familiar with

16:45

the song, it's a good idea. They could

16:47

great ones to look into it.

16:48

And Psalm, Psalm one hundred and thirty nine

16:50

is fabulous.

16:51

It's just fantastic, you know.

16:53

He describes

16:54

how God made him with his

16:56

own hand and his mother's womb. And

16:58

and then he says wonderful art your

17:00

work, so Lord. And I thought he's saying

17:02

I'm wonderful. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

17:04

And so many people think so

17:06

badly of

17:06

themselves. They have such a poor opinion of

17:09

themselves. And I

17:11

mean, David in the psalms kinda

17:14

kicks that one out of the ballgame right

17:17

right away. He's like, you

17:19

know, he calls himself anointed, he calls

17:21

himself righteous, he he

17:23

he says all the good things about him that God wants us

17:25

to believe about ourselves. And and

17:27

when we know who David was,

17:30

you know, when when we know that he was a a

17:32

man with failures like we

17:34

all have, that that

17:36

teaches us so much about

17:38

God's love for us that

17:40

in spite of sin, God called David

17:43

Amen after his own heart. And he

17:45

committed adultery and

17:47

murder. Yeah. a

17:49

man after my own heart. But,

17:51

you know, something I've learned is there's

17:53

a difference in weakness and wickedness.

17:56

Mhmm. Oh, and David. That's

17:59

really

17:59

good. And David had weaknesses. Yeah. But

18:02

he did not have awakened heart.

18:04

Mhmm. Yeah. He really, really,

18:07

really

18:07

loved God. Mhmm. And, you know, I've

18:10

read a lot of stuff by madam Guyhan.

18:12

And she said, love and

18:14

then do as you please. Mhmm.

18:16

And if you really think about it, it's like

18:18

if you really, really love God,

18:21

then then you're

18:23

not gonna do anything that doesn't please him.

18:25

So

18:25

you don't even really want to. It's not a matter

18:27

of I can't.

18:28

Yeah. It's I

18:29

don't want to. And I think a lot of people think, well, if

18:31

I become a Christian, then I can't do this and

18:33

I can't do that and I can't do this and I can't do

18:36

that. But the point is as God changes

18:38

your heart Exactly.

18:40

And you don't want to. Mhmm. And

18:42

all those things that you are doing

18:44

that you think are so important are the very things

18:46

that are making you miserable and unhappy. Yeah.

18:48

what do you think is, like, a

18:51

some not steps, but, like,

18:53

that love, that depth of the love that

18:55

that, you know, that David must have

18:57

had had must have had for God. Like,

18:59

how do you get to that point of just

19:02

loving him to that point? You know, like, he said,

19:04

like, that love. I know so many

19:06

people that want to love God, but

19:08

have had so many bad things happen to their

19:10

in their lives and see the the

19:12

devastation in the world that they still feel so

19:15

disconnected to get

19:15

that was life changing for me. We've all

19:17

got probably a handful of scriptures that we

19:19

can say, wow, this

19:22

was like a

19:24

big thing for me. And in the amplified Bible

19:26

in first John four sixteen,

19:28

it says that we are to

19:30

be conscious and aware of

19:33

god's love for us. Yeah.

19:36

And I guess we'd have

19:38

to talk about it a while to really

19:41

get the depth

19:41

of that. But how many

19:43

times a day is God showing his

19:46

love for us even in little tiny

19:48

ways? Mhmm. I've

19:50

come to believe my husband

19:52

is

19:52

very encouraging. He's very

19:55

complimentary toward me. And

19:57

I've

19:57

come to believe that Although it's

19:59

coming out of

19:59

Dave's mouth, I believe it's God encouraging

20:02

me. Mhmm. So I

20:03

think when other people come and encourage

20:05

us -- Yep. It's

20:07

really got because God uses people. Mhmm.

20:09

Yeah. You know, he speaks

20:12

through through people. Mhmm.

20:14

And so there's if you if you watch

20:16

for God's love for you

20:18

and

20:18

just how he cares

20:20

about the tiniest. detail

20:23

or the little desire you had in

20:25

your heart that nobody knew about but you and all

20:27

of a sudden, God does it

20:29

for you. Yeah. That causes

20:32

you to fall more and more and more

20:34

-- Okay. -- in love with him

20:36

-- Mhmm. -- along with the fact that

20:38

the bible says that

20:41

the

20:41

love of god is shed abroad in our hearts

20:43

by the holy ghost. So when you're born

20:45

again, when you

20:46

receive Christ, love comes in.

20:48

When he comes in, love comes

20:51

in.

20:51

because he is love.

20:52

Mhmm. Yeah. I love that. I love the idea

20:54

of watching -- Yeah. -- like

20:56

like beyond the lookout that

20:58

that throws me. Yeah. It just when I say

21:00

God do little things for me that are just,

21:02

like, little blinks from God. Like --

21:05

Yeah. you know,

21:06

I got you. I know you're there. Yeah. I know.

21:09

It's easy to be negative. You know, it's

21:11

easier to

21:13

look for the negative in It is easy. I'm

21:15

like take care of it right now.

21:16

It's a surprise. You have a lot

21:19

of spam in your mouth. It's

21:20

easy though. you know, like, Satan

21:23

is throwing those fiery guns every

21:25

day. People, like, we have to big things. Yeah.

21:27

We have to, like, watch out

21:28

for like, watch out forgot

21:31

love. Like,

21:31

you have to be on the lookout for -- Absolutely. --

21:33

little links from having all of that. I think it's

21:35

good too. At least for a

21:37

period of time, keep a little record

21:42

-- Yeah. -- of those things --

21:44

Yeah. -- because they're they

21:46

sometimes

21:46

are so little

21:48

that

21:49

you just you know, something I

21:51

just appreciate the people that God has put

21:53

in my life that helped me. Yeah.

21:56

with things that make my life so much

21:58

easier. Like one of my

22:00

daughter says, I know the column my life

22:02

is to take care of you. Yeah.

22:05

And She

22:06

just she runs my errands. She just does

22:09

anything I need her to do.

22:10

She does that. Well, that's a gift from

22:13

God. That's not just her. Yeah. because you couldn't

22:15

have that desire to do that for somebody

22:17

who who would lay down their life to do that for

22:19

somebody if God didn't put

22:21

that in their

22:22

heart. Mhmm. And all the

22:23

people that work here that are so

22:26

committed and dedicated. And,

22:28

you know, you you can't be that committed

22:30

to somebody else's thing

22:31

unless God puts that in your

22:34

heart to do that. I

22:36

look to at at the things that David is

22:38

talking about when when he is pouring out

22:40

his heart to God and pouring out his pain

22:42

and David was not

22:44

dealing with small things. Right. I

22:46

mean, he was being hunted

22:48

down to be killed. Yeah.

22:50

And and yet, he still turns it

22:52

and says, but but I will

22:54

worship you. I trust you. I

22:56

know you are good.

22:59

And that that tells you

23:01

so much about

23:03

who God is and what he wants to hear

23:05

from us. I think about, you know, with with

23:07

my own kids. I do wanna hear when they're hurting.

23:09

I wanna know what they're struggling with, and

23:12

and I wanna help them through it.

23:14

So it it's it's

23:16

good for us in multiple ways

23:18

to be able to pour out

23:20

our soul to god, but

23:22

not to forget the but you

23:25

know, don't leave that second part

23:27

off. It's going to verbal I'll trust

23:29

you. Yes.

23:29

I think what you're saying is so important

23:32

for people to hear not just, hey, look what

23:34

David did. Yeah. But

23:35

that's an example of

23:38

what we should do. Yeah. And how you

23:40

know, we can get our mouth open to

23:42

complain. Yeah. we're having trouble

23:44

with

23:44

that.

23:45

but But to

23:46

verbalize that, yes, I've got

23:48

a problem, God. But I put

23:50

my trust in you and I believe that

23:53

you will answer me.

23:55

Yeah. So let's dig into some of those

23:57

specific things because one

23:59

of the most

23:59

brilliant things about what God did

24:02

through all of these these songs. It's they're

24:04

they're really songs of worship and the songs

24:06

of people's hearts is that

24:09

he put in something for almost every situation

24:11

that we deal with. Yeah.

24:13

So let's say, you know, you're dealing

24:15

with with fear. You you

24:18

mentioned Psalm ninety one. Mhmm.

24:20

And there's just so

24:22

much comfort -- Mhmm. --

24:24

in that sum -- Yeah. -- that

24:26

I don't have to be afraid anxiety.

24:29

You know, there there

24:32

are so many things about anxiety

24:34

and Tom fifty five says you care

24:36

about all your care on him. Yes.

24:38

Be still a know that I am

24:40

god. Psalm thirty seven, you know the

24:42

mist we're in in the world, they say, fret not

24:44

yourself because of the evildoers because

24:46

they so soon be cut down

24:48

like the grass, delight yourself and the

24:51

Lord, and he will give you the

24:53

desires of your heart. They're such powerful words.

24:55

If

24:55

you read them too fast, you can just it then just

24:57

keep going. But if you stop and think about what you

24:59

just said, I mean, it's just crazy.

25:01

I love when I struggle with

25:04

anxiety, intensely, Psalm's

25:06

four eight was how I would, like, go to sleep at night,

25:08

and I would just say it over and over again. I will

25:10

lay down and sleep for you, will keep me safe.

25:12

And so just to roll it over and over in your mind

25:15

when you're struggling or with any of the other topics

25:17

that are in psalms just meditate

25:19

on it over and Yeah.

25:21

Yeah. Yeah. When I I remember being

25:23

a worship pastor at a church, lord Jesus,

25:25

I was exhausted and didn't wanna

25:27

do it, didn't wanna sing, not

25:29

a tune some days, and I would

25:31

always glean from Psalm one

25:34

hundred. Like, make a joyful noise to Lord,

25:36

all you learn serve the lord of gladness, come

25:38

before his presence with singing. Yeah. You

25:40

know, but it's like, let's go know that the Lord

25:42

is God. It is he that has made us and that we are

25:44

himself. It just goes on. So

25:46

that that song, that's the one that got me

25:48

up. That's a great one. To go to church

25:50

even. Like to, you know, when I was exhausted

25:53

or when I didn't really wanna, you know,

25:55

deal

25:55

with God's

25:55

sheep. You know? You know. You

25:58

know what? CEO or

25:59

CEO. But I would just that over

26:01

over again, and that would get me through, but then it would say,

26:04

like, it ended, like, entered to his gates with

26:06

Thanksgiving, and then to his courts with praise.

26:08

No. No. That let's think about

26:10

that. You can't even come in -- Yeah. -- the

26:12

presence of God --

26:13

Yeah. -- without Thanksgiving

26:15

and praise. Yeah. I will

26:16

enter his gates with Thanksgiving.

26:19

Yeah. and

26:20

come into his courts with praise. Yeah. Mhmm.

26:22

So Yeah. I love it.

26:24

Even people things that we're dealing with, you talk

26:26

about, you know, I'm -- Yes. -- I'm sick of the sheep.

26:28

I'm sick of all the blind. Yeah.

26:31

Without that much blind. so many things

26:33

that came up with. But but

26:37

even learning to walk through

26:39

people things. Mhmm. You

26:41

know, I I think there's so

26:43

much gold in who God

26:45

is that he doesn't say, okay,

26:47

leaders or okay,

26:49

parents, you're you're on your own, you

26:51

know, you got this. But

26:53

no. He he's a good father. Yeah.

26:55

And he's a good leader. Yeah. And

26:57

he helps us to know how to deal with those

26:59

situations. When you're super super tired.

27:01

Yeah. They're thinking, how am I gonna do it?

27:03

This is a great place to go to find how to

27:05

do it. Yeah. I've always related to

27:07

to David. Always from

27:10

Like, I just just related to him in so many

27:12

ways and appreciated that

27:14

he was so transparent with how

27:16

he felt and his honesty, but

27:18

I never saw that as clearly until I did that

27:21

devotional on

27:21

Psalms. It was like, you just can't that that

27:24

became so crystal clear to me that

27:26

he was not the least bit

27:28

phony or

27:28

pretentious with God. He told

27:31

him exactly how he felt, but he

27:33

also told him what he believed.

27:35

Yeah. Mhmm. That's beautiful.

27:36

I love this song, miss Because I really

27:38

love praise on worship. If I could be anywhere all

27:40

day long, I would be just summer worship.

27:42

And I don't saying well. I

27:44

mean, you sing though. But I do. You make a

27:47

joyful Alright. My noise is

27:49

joyful. No worries. No

27:51

worries. This is joyful. But

27:54

when I read the psalms, it's just like it I

27:56

I love to,

27:56

like, close my eyes and imagine, like, what is it gonna be

27:58

like when I'm in his

27:59

presence? And I'm, like, emotional every time I think

28:02

about it, where all of us are together, people

28:04

from all over the world, every

28:06

nation, every tongue, and we are doing

28:08

nothing but thanking him for who he is. Because at that

28:10

point, I don't have any complaints left.

28:13

I've made it. And all I get to

28:15

do, the sheep have

28:17

been taken care of. You don't think you'll

28:19

complain about your mansion and have I sure hope

28:21

not. You know, you you sure hope not. You

28:23

mentioned that, though, we just came

28:25

through our annual women's conference

28:27

And, yes, talk about

28:29

a sweet sweet sound.

28:32

Is those fifteen thousand

28:34

plus women? just singing out their

28:36

praise and worshiping. Amazing how we

28:38

sound so good when we all sing

28:40

together. It does really help you with all those fifteen

28:42

thousand ladies mean, I was

28:44

standing by you

28:45

sometimes. Oh, really? They turn

28:47

my microphone. They turn the waves of waves of waves waves

28:50

of waves. I can't

28:52

figure

28:53

out what key I'm saying. It's something

28:56

nobody's ever What did the

28:58

agenda? It's it's a

29:00

key all your own. And that's that's

29:02

what god what

29:04

from his rice, like, whatever it is. Mhmm.

29:07

But there was there was such a

29:09

purity in that and such a a

29:11

beautiful sound and you think

29:13

about the joy that it

29:13

brings to god's heart and

29:16

what it

29:16

does in our own life and how important that

29:18

is. And honestly, the whole the

29:20

whole women's conference, we're just so grateful

29:23

the the way that God took it -- Mhmm. -- and did

29:25

what he wanted -- Right. -- to do

29:27

through it. Absolutely. And

29:29

so I I hope everybody get

29:32

to see it and be part of but life changing.

29:34

But there's so much in worship,

29:36

like you were saying, Erin, there's there's so

29:38

much in there that kinda

29:41

turns our day around. Mhmm. Have you

29:43

ever tried to sing any of these songs?

29:45

I have, actually. I did

29:47

too. And they're they're just really

29:49

unique. I think we

29:52

got roller coaster for sure. Yeah.

29:54

That is an argument. I

29:57

was thinking their taste in music had

29:59

to be

29:59

a little bit different, but I wish

30:02

we had the original recordings. I would love

30:04

how David because I'd rather have a

30:06

song. Yeah. It's amazing. But I

30:08

love that. I I just I So you can

30:13

You don't have to just talk them out. You don't have talk them

30:15

out and I remember one sweet moment at the conference

30:17

was just in worship where God was

30:19

speaking so clearly that you even came

30:21

out -- Mhmm. -- and you

30:23

had, like, a word. Oh, there you go. It's time

30:25

to let go. And, like There was, like, an

30:27

anointing there for people to let me It was like

30:30

It was I felt it. So clearly, there

30:32

were certain things that my daughter and I were sitting there

30:34

just like, like, it's time to just let

30:36

certain things go. And but that

30:38

happens, like, you think about got

30:40

living and inhabiting the praise of his

30:42

people. He dwells in that moment. You could feel

30:44

him tangibly in that. And so when you walked out and did

30:46

that at the conference, it was such a powerful

30:48

moment then. I remember being one of those

30:50

worship leaders back in the day where they'd just be like, I don't know

30:52

what y'all gonna sing to come up after this, but y'all gonna

30:55

sing over these people in figure it

30:57

out. And they did, but

30:59

it's such a it's powerful. Like,

31:01

we're the worship experience and

31:03

singing that stuff out and they just started singing

31:05

what you were saying, honestly. And that but

31:07

that that's what the psalms

31:08

are. It was singing what

31:10

he was feeling in the moment that's so powerful.

31:12

Do you list or ginger of some of the

31:14

subjects covered in Psalms that would be helpful?

31:16

So talking about relationships, Psalm

31:20

one thirty three one says how good

31:22

and pleasant it is when god's people live

31:24

together in unity. unity is

31:27

so important. suffering, Psalm

31:29

twenty two. My god, my god, why have

31:31

you forsaken me, which is a very

31:33

words that Christ shared -- Right. -- on the

31:35

cross. It's called the Psalm of

31:37

the cross. Yeah. It's just

31:39

it's just so wonderful. Why are

31:41

you so far from saving

31:43

me? So far from the words of my

31:45

grooming? I don't know what that

31:47

means. so far from the words mind grooming, but the rest of it's beautiful.

31:49

And that's one thing I love

31:51

studying the bible is

31:53

you get phrase or something that you're

31:55

not quite sure what it is. That doesn't mean you're

31:57

having a bad hair die. You know what?

31:59

No.

31:59

It is. This verse means so

32:02

much more to me after

32:03

protect you so

32:03

hot. Am I gonna be back

32:06

to me? I

32:08

love that. And so

32:11

I'm gonna put this on my mirror. How can I help you? What if

32:13

it's

32:13

what if it's something about, like because I know I

32:15

had certain faith about things from

32:17

my grooming, growing up. I

32:19

was like like, I had such

32:21

faith because I hadn't experienced a lot of life

32:23

yet. Yeah. And so even in moments where I

32:26

felt like God has forsaken me, there used to be

32:28

scriptures that I would stand

32:30

on before I went through some of the most

32:32

life shattering things that I've experienced

32:34

in my forty years, you know. But, like,

32:36

now it's like, where are you?

32:38

Like, It's hard for me to even glean from those scriptures

32:40

that I want stood on. You got me curious

32:42

now. I'm gonna have to go home and study that

32:44

one. Yeah. And I and I think

32:46

there's so much available.

32:49

That's that's what the holy spirit is for. Right?

32:51

He reveals it. For

32:53

for you, it's It's hair. And for you,

32:55

it's it's it's

32:57

it's

32:58

it's

33:01

it's it's maybe it was

33:02

my hair when I was a little kid and now It

33:04

still works from your youth. Yeah. And I

33:06

think that's really important is don't give

33:08

up on a scripture when you don't get it and just

33:10

say, I can't understand this. Ask the

33:12

holy spirit to help and and keep

33:15

reading because we don't have

33:17

to understand every single phrase and

33:19

nuance to get so much good out of

33:21

God's word. You know something the psalms

33:23

that is

33:23

absolutely beautiful is favor.

33:27

Mhmm.

33:27

Yeah. So explain

33:29

what favor means.

33:30

Okay. Well, if if you

33:32

if somebody says, will you do me a favor?

33:35

they're

33:35

normally saying, I'm about to ask you for something that I

33:37

really don't deserve, but I'm hoping you'll give it

33:39

to me anyway. And so

33:43

when god gives us favor, which it says and

33:45

psalms that he will. When

33:47

god gives us favor, like for

33:50

example, people would just like

33:51

you for no reason. They don't even know

33:54

why they like you. They just do.

33:56

Our ten people might apply for a

33:58

position, but you would be the one that

34:00

would get it. And I believe that

34:02

we need to live with an

34:04

awareness

34:04

of God's

34:07

favor and confess

34:10

that you have God's favor and ask

34:12

him for his favor.

34:14

Believe that you have

34:16

favor. Yeah. And it also

34:18

increases your confidence,

34:18

instead of being afraid people aren't gonna like you -- Mhmm. -- believe

34:21

that God will give you favor

34:23

with them. Mhmm.

34:24

Yeah.

34:26

and confidence is another one of those things in the psalms.

34:28

There's so much in there

34:31

when we don't know who

34:33

we are. We don't we don't feel the

34:36

confidence that we should have. We

34:38

can stand on who God

34:40

says we are. Right. Based on

34:42

the psalms and and it really

34:44

does change a lot of how

34:46

we see ourselves.

34:47

You know, proverbs which I also did a

34:49

book on proverbs. It's called in search of

34:51

wisdom. But pro I

34:53

love this

34:54

and amplified. It says,

34:57

that a fool, it says,

34:59

a self confident

35:02

fool.

35:02

So a

35:03

fool is a person who

35:05

puts their confidence in themselves.

35:08

Yeah. But in the

35:10

Psalms, David

35:10

makes it clear that he gets his confidence

35:13

from

35:13

God -- Yeah. -- from knowing who he is

35:15

-- Mhmm. -- in him. And so we don't have to

35:17

live in fear of what people are gonna

35:20

think or afraid that we're gonna look foolish. If

35:22

we step out and say something, we can

35:24

put our confidence in

35:26

God. In

35:27

the past few years, Mike

35:29

and I have gone through some some stuff, so I dealt with a lot

35:31

of rejection. And going

35:34

back

35:34

to these scriptures about confidence and

35:36

who I am in Christ if

35:38

I felt so grounded because it did

35:40

shake me, and I've had to walk through some healing

35:42

because of that, but it never shattered

35:44

who I knew that I was.

35:46

because I know I'm fearfully and wonderfully made. And I was on one

35:48

hundred and thirty nine, I print it, and

35:51

then I I just all

35:53

these things. I'm fiercely, wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. Like

35:56

you said, you created my

35:58

end most being. That means the parts

36:00

that I might not think are

36:02

beautiful enough. Well, God made

36:04

those. Right. And he

36:06

chose to give me all these struggles. So he

36:08

must think I'm wonderful. So whatever

36:10

rejection I faced That's not what

36:12

Psalm one thirty nine says, so -- Mhmm. --

36:14

that I'm a have to work through

36:16

that. But those putting

36:18

those things in your heart for

36:20

when you're feeling a lack of confidence. You would need it deep in --

36:22

Very good. -- and, you know, it's

36:24

interesting when you you

36:24

can read about this stuff. Mhmm.

36:28

and you can mentally agree with it. But having

36:30

gone through

36:30

what you've gone through now and

36:33

having to apply that

36:36

-- Mhmm. Now

36:36

it's different. Same thing for you -- Mhmm. -- you all

36:38

of us, you know. Right. You part

36:43

the harder of having

36:44

that close relationship with God, I think, is going

36:46

through things that are

36:48

just almost unbearable -- Mhmm.

36:50

-- and seeing that

36:51

he does you do

36:53

make

36:53

it. He does get you through it if you don't give up

36:55

on him. Yeah. I

36:56

I literally had to, like, take those

36:59

words exactly and tape them to the

37:01

bottom of my shoes. Like, because I didn't

37:03

fill it. I didn't feel fearfully and wonderfully made. I

37:05

felt rejected ugly and -- Yeah. --

37:07

easy to be replaced. Like, you know,

37:09

like, that's literally how I felt, and that's what

37:11

I would tell him. But I like,

37:13

to the part, I'm, like, okay. You saying I gotta stand

37:15

on your word? I'm literally gonna have to stand on it. I, like,

37:17

put it in the soles of my

37:19

shoes. That's good. Seriously did because I'm, like,

37:21

I would write it down and stick it in my shoes and that's still

37:23

it didn't feel

37:23

nothing, but I had to keep, but you're walking.

37:26

Yeah. So literally, you're walking. had to

37:28

do whatever I had

37:30

to to, like, really stand on his word. Now, when I felt

37:32

like I didn't feel like it, I'm like, well,

37:34

it ain't my shoes. So -- Yeah. --

37:36

I'm literally standing on it. Like, you have to

37:38

sometimes go

37:40

do the foolish things to confound the wise. You have to sometimes

37:42

just say it over and over again

37:44

because life will whatever it takes. Whatever it takes. Whatever it

37:46

takes. Yeah. Throw you those blows to

37:49

make you feel like that. And that's why I love David because

37:51

he makes it okay to say, like, okay.

37:53

It's okay to feel this way. Talk it out

37:55

with him. Yeah. And then remember who

37:57

you

37:57

are. That's apart, like remembering who

37:59

you aren't saying it out loud. That's not funny.

38:02

Yeah.

38:03

The biggest problem

38:04

the biggest problem the

38:06

Christians have. Mhmm. I feel I feel I feel I feel like

38:09

nobody loves me. I feel I feel like

38:11

God doesn't hear me. I I don't feel

38:13

like I hear from God. And

38:15

we really do have to understand

38:18

that you can feel wrong

38:20

and still do what's right. Mhmm. You have to

38:22

understand your feelings or part of your

38:24

soul in they're very

38:26

unreliable and very fickle.

38:28

And you can

38:29

sometimes are nice to have and sometimes are

38:32

not so nice to have but have

38:34

to

38:34

not rely on them. We have to

38:37

you know, maybe you don't feel

38:39

loved, but God says he loves

38:41

you. So you himself. That's so true

38:44

because

38:44

our our feelings, you know,

38:46

people get really confused with their feelings.

38:48

It's not that your feelings

38:51

don't count or that they're not real. They

38:53

are. Mhmm. And they're

38:56

they're something that that

38:58

we have to acknowledge And that's

39:01

why it's okay to pour these things out to God. They feelings

39:03

have value, but they

39:06

are not always

39:08

truth. They're not always who you

39:10

are. So I've

39:12

learned so much about praying through

39:14

the psalms. the songs or songs,

39:17

but they're also beautiful prayer points

39:19

-- Right. -- that when we're

39:21

speaking out that scripture, so years

39:23

and years ago, God gave me Psalm's

39:26

chapter one to pray over my husband and

39:28

I've done it every day for

39:30

years and years and

39:32

years and and it just says, bless it is Hugh who not

39:34

walk in the way of the wicked or sit

39:36

in the council of the centers

39:40

and and it it goes on to say his delight is in

39:42

the law in the law of the Lord and

39:44

on it he meditates day and night he will

39:46

be like a tree who was

39:48

planted with

39:50

roots roots that grow deep and he'll bear fruit in season.

39:52

And I pray that for so long

39:55

when Tim was not delighting

39:57

in the law of the Lord.

39:59

was not what we were

40:02

seeing on the outside. But,

40:04

you know, I wasn't gonna give up on that. I

40:06

I still saying that

40:08

every single day and praying

40:10

that over him. Mhmm.

40:12

And, you know, then we come to

40:14

a point where I see those roots

40:16

getting deep Right. And I see

40:18

that fruit that he's bearing. And

40:20

I I see that

40:22

God is bringing

40:24

into reality the things that we

40:26

were standing on like you were saying, Jay, when when you don't see it, when you don't feel it,

40:28

that is not always the end.

40:30

Yeah. We just gotta keep going and

40:34

keep holding on to those promises.

40:36

Our soul is our mind, our will, and

40:38

our emotions. And just

40:39

because I think it

40:41

doesn't make it

40:43

true, after bringing

40:45

my

40:45

thoughts captive to the

40:48

thoughts of Christ,

40:49

second Corinthians

40:52

ten. and

40:53

we cast down wrong

40:55

imaginations and meditate

40:57

-- Mhmm. -- on

40:58

the right things and people who don't

41:01

understand meditation all it is is to roll something over and over

41:03

in your mind. And everybody

41:06

knows how to meditate because you know how to

41:08

worry. Right. And that's all worry as you just think about the

41:10

problem and think about it and think about it and think about

41:12

it. And so when you when you think about

41:14

God's word like that -- Mhmm.

41:18

it really gets deep inside you. Mhmm. What are some

41:20

other

41:21

other things that you

41:23

deal with in life that

41:25

you've seen answers to in psalms or that

41:28

the psalms have been a comfort for you.

41:30

Anything else?

41:32

For me, it's just life in general. Like,

41:35

all of it, like I

41:36

said, I've said, is over and over again. It's just

41:38

a capstone of of just

41:40

true life situations. Yeah. that

41:42

cause pain. Mhmm. And I and

41:45

because I've, like, it I've always I'd say

41:47

it all the time on on this

41:49

podcast is that I've

41:51

been through some really tough times over the past few

41:54

years and just really getting

41:56

through it, but being able to learn how to

41:58

limit to god and

41:59

to tell him my problems because

42:02

it's easy to go to people. And

42:03

then the the biggest

42:06

struggle has not been going to

42:08

him. It's coming back

42:10

to that that, like, pendulum

42:12

swinging to saying, but you are good. But you are because

42:14

it it doesn't it we talk about feelings.

42:16

We don't feel like it. it's it's like, okay,

42:18

god. How many l's am I gonna take?

42:20

Like, losses? You know, like, you know, like,

42:22

like, what does l's? Yeah. A

42:24

lot of have to break that down. Like so this is

42:26

how I talk to God. I talk like, I have

42:29

broken down all of the religiosity

42:31

of my prayer time with him.

42:33

I'm just, like, I talked to he is one of my

42:35

friend, like, yo, like, god. Oh,

42:37

man. Like, what how many

42:39

l's am I gonna take?

42:41

Like, when are you going to it's the song, like,

42:43

that you talk about. Like, when are you going

42:46

to fight for me? Like, when are you going

42:48

to vindicate me? When are you going to

42:50

make me feel because on I look like the other

42:52

folks winning. Like, like, this is and

42:54

so me just praying it over and over

42:56

again, and now getting to more of a place

42:58

now where I can actually

43:00

say, okay. but you are good, and I trust you. And I trust that you're working it

43:02

out even if I don't see it. It's not for me

43:04

to see. It's for me to trust and to know

43:06

that your arms are in his hands.

43:08

Exactly. The

43:10

Bible says. And we don't I always say there's the beginning,

43:12

and we get all excited

43:14

about the beginning. It's new. Praise

43:16

God. It's gonna be exciting.

43:19

And if you ever make it to the end, that's exciting. But

43:21

you gotta

43:22

go through the middle. Mhmm. And say,

43:24

you're kind of in the middle right now. You're waiting

43:26

on God to vindicate you.

43:28

And

43:28

so you claim to that promise

43:30

that he is your vindicator. Like, you

43:32

know, Psalm sixty one says

43:34

he'll

43:34

give you a double recompense for

43:38

your farmer trouble and it even talks about

43:40

the shame of

43:42

your

43:42

youth that he will that

43:45

he well take care

43:46

of that. And so I had a lot of shame from being sexually abused from

43:49

my father and -- Mhmm. -- man, I

43:51

was looking for that double blessing and

43:53

it it took some years But

43:56

my goodness, what God has done in my life is

43:58

just like, wow. You got it.

44:00

You know? Yeah. It's amazing. And

44:02

I think in answer to your question,

44:05

there's

44:05

a lot of protection in the

44:08

psalms. Mhmm. You

44:08

read the psalms and you

44:11

really, you feel protected that God

44:13

is going to take care of you even even

44:15

when you don't see it or know how.

44:17

I like together when

44:19

I feel like disposed. Like,

44:21

if I feel overwhelmed or vulnerable in some way, I'm not that

44:23

things make us feel that way. But the sawm is

44:25

making us feel so protected

44:27

and, like, he like,

44:29

the vastness of who he is, if he

44:32

cares so intimately about me.

44:34

Mhmm. And I like to feel that just

44:36

sense of

44:38

overwhelming safety. I

44:39

like to do what you do. I like to read

44:41

one of the Psalms every day as part of

44:43

my bible reading.

44:44

And if I'm

44:45

really feeling perky all, We're one

44:47

of the properties. Oh, no. Somebody else can eat

44:49

some of the news.

44:52

No. Just really get

44:54

it going. a rocky

44:56

life. And

44:58

you know what, when I think of the songs too,

45:00

I just think about even in today's times,

45:02

how important it is for us to, like, the scripture talks about,

45:05

we overcome by the blood of the lamb

45:07

and the word of our testimony. And,

45:10

like, seeing David's testimony written

45:12

out has been is

45:14

is so very helpful, which

45:17

is why I believe why

45:19

Joyce is so impactful is because, like,

45:22

we hear her testimony. Mhmm. And it's

45:24

just and and being able to

45:26

see her live the other side of it too. It's just

45:28

so encouraging. And so, like, that's why

45:30

I think it's important for us to remember that and

45:32

even share my testimonies because it you

45:34

don't know,

45:36

like, the living Psalm we might be for someone.

45:38

Right. And the fact that God has that for

45:40

each and every one of us -- Yeah. --

45:42

it's not just David, it's not just Joyce Meyer.

45:45

You know, it's each and every one of us --

45:48

Exactly. -- that he is

45:50

walking out our story and has

45:52

wonderful things planned

45:54

for I remember one one of the psalms that that has

45:56

just been so huge in my

45:58

life of a

45:59

verse is I I just

46:02

remember wanting to do everything. Right. I

46:04

wanted to be everything. I wanted

46:06

to be an astronaut and a

46:08

scientist and the president of the

46:10

United States And I wanted I love television. I

46:12

wanted to do that. Yeah. All of it. I just but

46:14

be a surgeon. I just wanted to do it

46:16

all. and

46:18

there's stress in that. Yes. It's like, what do

46:20

we do with this life? It's

46:22

end Psalm thirty seven for July or

46:25

is it thirty four seven thirty

46:27

seven four. There's a Delight

46:29

you delight in the

46:32

Lord, and he will give you the desires of your

46:34

heart. And what that

46:36

did for me was take the stress off

46:38

because it wasn't that I had to

46:40

do and be everything. It's that

46:42

when I just focused on him, he would not

46:44

give me everything I wanted. Yeah. He

46:47

would put in my heart

46:49

the desire -- Right. that

46:51

were his desires for me.

46:54

Talk about pressure off. Well, one of

46:56

the ways you hear -- That was

46:58

great. -- is if you have

47:00

a

47:00

you have a desire desire, I

47:02

mean, a good desire --

47:03

Mhmm. -- and it just keeps staying -- Mhmm.

47:05

-- and keeps staying and keeps staying. One of

47:07

the ways that I hear from

47:09

God is like if he just keeps putting somebody on

47:12

my heart and it's sometimes it'd be

47:14

somebody I

47:14

haven't thought of in a long time and

47:16

then I'll know that I need to. called

47:18

them or just, you know, a text I've

47:20

been

47:20

thinking about you. Mhmm.

47:23

God loves

47:24

you. I appreciate

47:26

you. It's amazing how just

47:28

part of that being close

47:30

to God is following him

47:32

and listening to what he says and

47:35

doing

47:35

what he tells you

47:37

to. Yeah.

47:38

So there's just so much, like you were saying,

47:40

so much comfort, so much wisdom,

47:42

so much joy, so much protection. We

47:46

encourage all of you to

47:48

get into

47:50

the psalms. don't don't think it's not gonna soak in

47:52

47:54

it's gonna make a difference in your

47:56

life and Joyce does have
