We talk about the history of disability rights starting from Colonial America, institutionalization, eugenics, something strangely called the “Ugly Law”, separation of disabled kids in public schools, disabled veterans returning to the U.S. after WW1, disability rights laws that were passed (Rehabilitation Act of 1972, IDEA, ADA and Section 504) and how it still impacts the disability community currently.

We also discuss what to do moving forward. Some suggestions on how to advocate for the disability community.
