This episode is part 1 of 2 in an interview with a divorced mom of 3. Two of her children were adopted while she was married, the third after her divorce. She discusses her experience with the adoption process and the community that came together to support her.
“Once I told people I was getting a divorce and that I was going to do this [adopt a 3rd child] alone...I feel like that gave people permission to come be a part of the village. When you're a married couple it's thought you have it together. And they don't feel like they need to reach out as much. People felt like they could be part of our community...I it gave them permission to come into our lives more.”
