Time marks the passing of moments. Each day we have hundreds of moments that fly by, some taking longer than others or appearing in different forms. We work, we play, we eat, we sleep. The craziest part is that no two days look exactly the same! Music can’t be like this, though. It has to be repeatable to be consumable. That’s where Time Signatures step in.

They can be even, odd, simple, or compound. They can be fast or slow or anything in between. Time signatures are a vital piece of keeping musicians together so that the music can speak for itself.
