We got into the Guinness Book of Records (also Blue Peter) and we're here to show you how.
While the majority of us were learning how to bake, during the 2020 lockdown Jason set himself an ambitious goal: to break a record.
The action sports athlete combined hard work with out-of-the-box thinking to create a new challenge of unicycling while simultaneously lifting a barbell.
He broke the record for heaviest single weight lifted by barbell overhead press while riding a unicycle by lifting an incredible 68 kg (149.9 lb) in April 2021, after eight weeks of continuous training for five days a week.
Now a proud representative of Guinness World Records 2023, thanks to Rod's magnificent photograph, which was also featured all over the press.
“The book is kind of part of the fabric of our culture, really, as I think everyone has memories of the Guinness World Records as a kid at Christmas.
“And to be a very small part of that, it feels a lot more meaningful than just breaking the record itself – that was very humbling, for one, and a real honour to be part of it.”
He said that as a child, the unconventional records stood out to him “a little bit more”.
“That would catch my eye and it probably has influenced me in some way, shape or form, and I cannot believe it is still relevant,” he said.
