Welcome to the keep up the work podcast. In today’s episode, I had the pleasure of speaking to Hector McNeil, who is the co-founder and CEO of Hanetf. Hector’s career took off after becoming the CEO at the age of 28 of a company started up by Morgan Stanley which raised €110million. Hector, along with his business partner Nik then went on to start ETF Securities which held £30bn in assets at its peak. After being bought out Hector and Nik started Boost in 2011. After 3 years of success and over £1bn in AUM Boost partnered with Wisdom Tree. Hector and Nik were responsible for Wisdom Tree Europe’s launch in 2014. After being bought out again Hector and Nik went onto their 4th ETF business which launched in Oct 2018. Hanetf has seen rapid growth and is currently hold £2bn in AUM. Outside of his businesses Hector is a family man and is incredibly passionate about Rugby, so much so he started his own rugby league club. Hector is also a champion and doing work with the Alzheimer’s society.

Speaking to Hector I wanted to find out about his recipe for success. We spoke about his career so far, the lessons he’s learnt along the way and what makes him tick away from his work.
