Grab a bud light lime and your screaming cat for this disastrous hoot of a podcast. Nothing better than an animal podcast that isn't kid-friendly and discusses the embarrassing, grimy details of the niche job in the conservation field called being a zookeeper. No animal is safe from Flora and Fauna's ridicule. The more off the rails these keeper babes get, the better the episode. I say this as a non-zookeeper who doesn't give a cube-shaped wombat shit about video games or Pokemon. Keep up the pant-ripping good work!
These two are damn funny and too real at times when it comes to life working in zoos and aquariums. They are doing important work, educating people about wildlife and conservation, but also telling us about their cats and Todd the carnivorous pitcher plant when Flora remembers he exists.
I do not listen to podcasts. At all. However, I have listened to EVERY single episode of this one! I actually wanted to wait to write this review until I could come here and say exactly that. The episodes start out perfect and stay perfect. If you listen to them from the beginning you'll go on a whole grimey journey with these two, learning tons about animals along the way. They have made me laugh so hard I cried, multiple times. I stopped listening to music for months just to listen to this podcast. I am unashamed to say I am 100% obsessed with it. You will be too!
Because it is about animals (and quite informative on that score) I like the show. The endearing rapport between these two friends, their self-deprecating humor, and their willingness to let it go completely off the rails is why I love it.
Some personified menstrual blood clod left a bad review of this absolute banger of a podcast so I have to get all White Knight in here. Look you *come* for the animal “facts” but you *STAY* for the banter. If you want to learn about an animal accurately you can do that literally anywhere on god’s green internet but where else can you hear about people busting their butt, scent gland lollipops, and conservation all in one place. Literally nowhere. Go suck an endangered bird egg if you ain’t listening with absolute reverence to the wild rants of Flora and Fauna.
This is by far the best podcast I've listened to. Absolutely chocked full of crazy weird animals, crazy interesting facts, crazy funny jokes and stories and two crazy keepers who never fail to leave me in stitches after every episode - I am a fellow keeper and I am well and truly happily addicted. Would (and have) 100% recommend this podcast to lovers of all creatures big and small, through the perfect medium and delivery of information about said creatures from my two favourite hilarious zookeepers.
Two slugs bring joy and animal facts to your life. What more could you ask for?
I love Flora and Fauna! These ladies are great. As someone who wanted to be a zookeeper, this cast is fantastic. They're funny and knowledge. They make mistakes. They're super funny, and they love the critters they keep, even when those critters are weird and sometimes gross.
Been listening for a couple years and finally caught up to current. These ladies are not afraid to say the worst about an animal, or give the answer no one wants to hear to a listener question. I would trust them with my life.
A great podcast if you are interested in the grimy details of what it's like to be a zookeeper, or if you love animals and listening to people say swear words. Truly something for everybody.
I LOVE this podcast. Couple of very honest weirdos, very entertaining, and very funny!
The best people to go to if you want to hear all the grimy facts about the weirdest animals. I've learned a lot, the community is amazing, and it never fails to make me laugh. Everyone should listen to this podcast, because not only is it great, it also helps out animals and contributes to conservation.
These ladies are hilarious, insightful, and painfully honest about the often amazing but frequently back breaking/mentally exhausting/breakdown inducing world of zoo keeping. I'm a zoo keeper and this podcast has educated me on so many things, so imagine how much most people will learn from it! Was that pretentious? I'm not sure but this podcast is a 10/10
Fantastic, fun, and funky podcast by Flora and Fauna. Start at the beginning to get the whole story, it’s worth it! They have done an incredible job from episode 1.
Super informative, love the behind the scenes chat on animals, working in the zoo industry and more. If you are considering a job working with animals, this is required listening because it's not all sunshine and "I love animals." There is also a lot of guano, politics and so many people.
Even though they haven't done the capybara yet, this is the best and only podcast I will ever listen to. They are hilarious, but also super informative about the animals they love (and some they don't). Every week I look forward to learning something new.
Two lovely people talk trash on lovely animals. Great podcast.
Funny, informative and all round good time! Awesome banter between friends will often have you in stitches, all while learning about a new animal each week. Always finish an episode with a fun fact to share at dinner. Thanks F&F!
This podcast is what your local friendly zookeepers actually talk about in the break room. You will fall in love with these weirdos and learn some questionable animal facts.
If you love animals, learning and proficient use of swears look no further. I know like every positive podcast review says something like "it's just like hanging out with your friends" or something cheesy, but this one actually is exactly like that. Each episode is filled to the brim with information, weird animals, and jokes. I am regularly in stitches while listening to this show, do yourself a favor and give it a listen.
